Chapter 48:

Alley POV:

I think if we keep telling them they may pass out from shock. "This is the best news I've heard all day!" A woman shouted, slowly more people spoke their minds, "We can't be attacked!" "We are so lucky to be protected by them." We waited for everyone to stop talking before delivering the bad news. "With that being said, there is a threat that is trying to kill Alley and I for the power we harvest." Stephen barely got his sentence out before the crowd erupted with growls "No one will hurt our Luna!" "We will protect y'all with our lives!" A small child stood at the front with his face twisted in anger. He bolted forward clinging to my legs, "I won't let a mean person take you away!" He shouted with tears in his eyes. My heart started to break looking at him. I kneeled down to face him his small face held anger and worry he wrapped his arms around my neck "I promise Luna I will protect you." He said. His words made my heart swell. "No one is going to take me away sweetheart I promise." I whispered in his ear. "Where is your mommy and daddy?" I asked pulling him back to face me. "They died in a battle.. I stay at a house with aunty." He said. Oh my goddess my heart is breaking.
I took in his features, he had light green eyes and brown hair, his face was a little pale, he looked to be around 5 years old, looked a little malnourished, his little eyes were wide and he clung to me. The more I looked at him the more I felt a pull towards him, to keep him safe and by me at all costs. Rose was trying to surface, she felt a strong need to tend to him. I brushed my hand across his little face "I'm not going anywhere I promise." I whispered to him. "He can't leave either! I'll protect you both." He said determined, he put on the maddest face I've seen a kid wear. Stephen bent down to us with a warm smile, "I'm not going anywhere little buddy, and we will protect you." Stephen said, ruffling his hair. I wonder why I feel like this with him. Or why he came running to us like this, something deep within me tells me I need to keep him close to me, to us.
I looked to Stephen who seemed to have had the same thoughts, "Danny! I'm so sorry Luna, I didn't know he would run like that." A tall plump woman came forward but little Danny's grip on me tightened. The closer she got the more agitated Rose got. "What is your name?" I asked her "Linda.." She said not taking her eyes off Danny. I didn't like the way she looked at him and neither did Rose. Linda reached her hand out to take Danny but before she could reach him I grabbed her wrist. She looked at me shocked and her eyes widened. "You will not touch him." I growled out, Rose was seconds away from coming out. Okay something is definitely off. I pushed Danny between me and Stephen, not taking my eyes off her. "Alex please get Linda out of my sight peacefully everyone is watching. Put her in the cells." I mind linked him. He came forward with a small smile before walking away with her. I placed little Danny behind me before addressing the crowd. "We have called our allies and they are on their way here. With that we will all train, everyone needs to know how to protect themselves at all costs. Training will start tomorrow morning at 8:00AM rest while you can." Stephen said dismissing everyone.
I turned around and looked down at Danny, "Let's go inside shall we?" He looked scared, not sure of what was going on. We walked inside and we sat Danny down at the table. "Stay here okay?" I said and he nodded his head. I grabbed Stephens hand and pulled him to the next room. "I want to adopt him. He is special. I can feel it and Rose can feel it." I said firmly. "I know he is. I also saw the way Linda looked at him. Denver wants to keep Danny as well as me." Stephen replied. Well that was easier than I thought it would be. "Really?" I said a little in shock. "Yes really but we will get that sorted after everything. He will stay here with us until then." Stephen said and I couldn't agree more. "He is special." Rose said. "Special how?" I asked her. "I will tell you later, we need to prepare the others for the news." She replied before cutting the link."Rose said she will tell us why he is special later but we have to prepare the others first." I told Stephen who nodded. He was facing Danny, when I looked closer his eyes were black. "Denver! What are you doing?" I asked, grabbing his arm to get his attention. He looked at me and smiled. "Spill what is it?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "He is special indeed." He said with a smile. "Give Stephen control back." I snapped.
A few moments later Stephens cloudy blue eyes looked into mine. "Something is up with those two. We will figure it out later." He said and I nodded. We walked back into the kitchen where everyone was standing around Danny, "Are you sleepy Danny?" I asked him, his eyes were drooping and he nodded his head. "How about I take him to a room to let him sleep?" My mother said she had a warm smile on her face. "That's fine, he can sleep in the room next to ours." Stephen said. Danny stood and ran to us wrapping his little arms around our legs. "I get to stay here?" He asked, looking up at us. "Yes you do, now go get some sleep and we will talk a little in the morning okay?" I said. He nodded his head before my mother came and scooped him up and took him up to bed. "Alpha we have our allies arriving." Brandon said through the mind link. "Let's go greet our guests shall we?" Stephen said with a grin. I feel a little uneducated as I have only met them once or twice and don't know their names just yet. I suppose I will let Stephen do all the talking.
We stepped outside to be greeted with 6 black SUV's. They certainly showed up quickly. One by one the Alphas stepped out with their Lunas. The Alphas had a serious look across their faces while the Lunas looked impassive. "Welcome to our pack, we have much to discuss. Let's go to the meeting room." Stephen said, his smile had disappeared and a serious look spread across his face. He turned on his heels and grabbed my hand and walked towards the meeting room. I could feel their eyes burning into my back. I'm not sure how these Alphas and Lunas will take all the news and I can only pray to the goddess they don't flip out and cause more of a problem. "We have everything set in the meeting room Stephen." Tye said through our mind link. "Good. Thank you we are walking up now." Stephen replied.


We have a long night ahead of us.
