Chapter 67:
Alley POV:
We are all sitting around Stephens office. He called a meeting to inform us of the group of trackers that found where the vampire queen is. While we all waited for him I let my mind drift off to last night, Danny had shown us everything he got at the store and we helped him set his room up while he bounced around ecstatically. He got a lot of different toys and a big toy box to put them all in, at least 6 new pairs of shoes and an ass load of new clothes. Not that we mind at all, it just showed us even more of what he lacked which broke my heart even more. Stephen and I agreed to keep the aunt locked up in the cells, we can't let her loose with everything going on and as of now she is in major pain, hasn't held down food and puking blood. I'd say it's what she gets for being such a horrible person. At dinner we celebrated the small victory with the dark witches even though it may not last after the battle but still, small victory. The door opened and Stephen walked in with one group of trackers. They looked rough, like they had been in a fight recently. "What happened?" I asked standing to my feet and walking towards them looking them all up and down. "We found the vampire queen." One mumbled "She didn't like us being there that's for sure." Another one said.
I figured she wouldn't like them looking into her business. "She is one scary bitch. She said she will have a test set up, if we pass she will talk to us. If we fail well we die." Another said. I heard a few gasps around the room and growls from the alphas. "She said when the sun sets the test will begin, to get to her we have to get through a small army of fighters in front of her castle." The first one said, "She can't be serious." Collin snapped. "Why would we fight just to talk to her?" Josh said, balling his fists up. "If we win then we are worthy to speak to her. It will show her we are strong but I doubt she really knows who we are." I said looking at everyone. "She thinks you are all just Lunas and Alphas, nothing more." One said. I thought about it for a moment. This could be a great time to show her we made peace with the dark witches. "Should we include Pythia?" Emma asked. Would the vampire queen think we were weak and needed aid from them? Or would she see the peace that was made? Or would she think we are ganging up on her to take her down completely? "I think it should just be us, have Pythia around in case things go bad, but she needs to see our strength without them." I replied.
Everyone looked deep in thought, "I think you're right Alley. This is a test to see what we are made of and it could go very bad if she sees them helping us." Diane said. "We need to get word to them of what will happen tonight." Devin said. "Send the trackers, let this be a test of our own." Stephen said. Part of me wanted to disagree. Although he had a point, this could test the waters and see if she was speaking the truth. "Agreed." Jasmine said. "Tell Pythia to meet us outside the border 30 minutes before sundown." Stephen instructed. "But first get cleaned up and eat something okay?" I said and a look of gratitude came across their faces. They bowed their heads and walked out. "So what is the plan?" Austin asked. "Well I'd like to keep our abilities a secret for as long as we can." I replied. "If she thinks we are just Lunas then I have to agree. Showing our full abilities at first might go badly." Charlotte said. "So we just let you all fight in wolf form? Or human form? Absolutely not." Collin said, earning a glare from all the women, especially Jasmine. "I'm sorry, do you think we are not strong enough?" Jasmine snapped. "No, I didn't say that, I just don't like the idea of you fighting." Collin replied, grabbing her hand.
Jasmines face softened, "Love, you have nothing to fear. If we think we are losing we will handle it. But you have to have faith in us.." Jasmine said. "How about we shift and fight? If things get wonky you ladies can step in?" Andrew offered. Truthfully that's not a bad idea. It would show their strength and then we can show ours. "That's not a bad idea. She needs to see how strong each of us are. To see we can fight for ourselves and we aren't some cliche." Chloe said. "We will have to do this with no protection. If we use it then she will know something is different about us." I said, gauging their reactions. We all felt a little more secure behind the shields but truthfully, we can't stay behind them forever. A knock at the door grabbed our attention. One of the trackers opened the door and stuck his head through, "We are going to deliver the message." He said. "Mind link us when it is done, be careful." Stephen replied, he bowed his head and closed the door. "If there is a large number of vampires all plans are off and we use our abilities." Stefanie said. "Agreed, we know she can be ruthless and we don't know what she has planned, but if things get horrible we throw the shield up and use our abilities. Vampire venom won't kill us but it will hurt like a bitch." I said.
There are two types of vampires, the first is the "newborn" ones, they were once humans who either fell in love with a vampire or were turned against their will. Either way they are strong as hell and difficult to beat. Their movements are wild and dangerous. The second type is the ones that are birthed, much like us wolves, they learn to control hunger and strength like we did. Hunger has never been an issue because we don't drink blood or anything like they do. Some of them don't drink human blood, they have an animal diet and some grab blood bags from hospitals. Then there are the ones who kill anything they see because the craving is just too much. "If it's turned newborn all plans are definitely off, we need to kill as many as we can." Pierce said. Everyone nodded their heads in agreement. "Jack and Sammie, you two are to stay hidden for as long as you can." I said looking at the twins. "We will stay hidden but we will also use our abilities to slow them down without them even knowing what is happening." Sammie said. "We can't just hide and not do anything." Jack said sternly. "That's fine. Use your shields to protect you a little more and if things get out of hand, well you already know." I said with a small smile.
