Chapter 80:
Stephens POV:
I decided to hang back and let the others train while I observed everyone, Jeremy decided to hit the weights and then the punching bag, Alleys mom was training Cassandra on the mats again and I must admit for a human she is pretty good. She moved quickly and her bounce back is even quicker. Jeremy takes a glance over at them every few seconds, I couldn't imagine living the way that they did. To constantly look over my shoulder because of who I was and knowing I had no backup or no protection is a horrible way to live. Maybe after all of this is said and done they can stay here or leave and feel better knowing they made a lot of new friends. "So how is Jeremy doing?" Alex asked. "He's doing fine in my opinion, I think he is more protective than Collin is." I replied with a chuckle. "Yeah I couldn't imagine that, but his mate seems to be learning really fast." Alex said. "Yeah she is. She's a strong person she just needs to embrace it and let her instincts guide her." I said watching the two women start to go at it without holding back.
Jeremy came to stand beside us while his eyes were trained on Cassandra. "Hey man she is doing great." Alex said, trying to loosen things up a little bit. "She is fantastic, but sometimes you can't help but be over protective." Jeremy replied. "I understand that, one thing that I learned though is never underestimate women. Alley may look small and fragile but she will kick any of our asses." I replied, Alex busted out laughing "What are you laughing at? You've been on the receiving end of an ass chewing." I said narrowing my eyes, it only made him laugh harder. "Oh I know, it wasn't so funny then but that woman can make anyone run and cry." Alex said between breaths. "Oh so she made you cry?" Jeremy asked, raising one eyebrow at him. "Maybe, I'll never tell my secrets." Alex said walking off. "So what do you think will happen next?" Jeremy asked. "What do you mean?" I was a little confused. "Well sooner or later Bosch will figure out that we are all working together, what do you think he will do?" He asked. "Honestly I don't know. He may send a few that work for him to test us or something but as long as the shield is up we will be fine. A few vampires and rogues may get through but nothing we can't handle." I replied, shrugging my shoulders.
We've been so busy trying to plan everything and start training that we really haven't thought about what Bosch could do next. Jeremy and I were in deep conversation when Alley popped up in front of us. "Fuck!" Jeremy yelled, stumbling backwards. Okay now I see why it was so funny the first time. "Alley? What's wrong princess?" I asked her, I could see the wheels turning in her head like she had made a connection with something. "The girls and I were talking about Bosch right? Trying to figure out how he got all the rogues on his side." Alley said as she paced in front of me and Jeremy. "What if.. What if he promised them Jeremy? Like hey come work for me and I'll find your new king?" She said waving her arms around giving an impersonation of Bosch. Jeremy looked just as confused as I was. She blew out a breath looking at us. "Think of it you two! Bosch had to promise them something right? If he does and he figures out that Jeremy is here he can swing it to make them believe we have him as a prisoner and fuel their rage to attack." She exclaimed giving us the 'are you two fucking kidding me' look.
Well she does have a point. "You don't think he would do that do you? Does he know where I am?" Jeremy asked, trying to keep his voice down. "If he somehow knows you killed your dad then he knows you're alive, it's just a matter of finding you." She replied. "He is all about power, he can manipulate the vulnerable easily. Just think!" She replied. "Okay so let's say that is true, then we need to be extra careful." I replied. "We need to get in contact with the trackers and see what they have figured out, we can't wait to start picking them off." She said, running her hands over her face. She was right. We can't wait. "Someone better have some news for me. What did y'all find?" I snapped through the link and opened it for us to hear. For a moment no one answered. "Answer us!" Alley roared through the link, her voice laced with authority "Apologies luna, alpha. We started heading back, they have more rogues than anything. around 200, at least 100 vampires and maybe 80 dark witches." One of them replied. Oh shit. The look on everyones faces said it all. "We aren't even sure if that is all of them." Another said
"How many rogues do you remember?" I asked Jeremy. "I told y'all it was hundreds. I don't know the exact number, but it's more than 200 that I know." He replied. "How long until you are all back?" I asked. "We should arrive back early tomorrow morning." One replied back. So we have to morph a plan tonight and figure it out to be prepared for what we need to do next. "We need to get a plan in place. We need to start picking them off or something. We need to get Ambrosia and Pythia here as well. They need to know about all of this." Alley said as she started to pace again. I knew her mind was going crazy at that moment. "Hey princess, calm down we'll figure all of this out." I said pulling her into a hug. She wrapped her arms around me and took a deep breath. Now we just need to get our asses in gear and get a plan together before they figure everything out and come for us first.
