Chapter 44:

Alley POV:
Jack and Sammie woke up a few hours after they passed out, they looked a lot better, ate like their life depended on it which I thought was funny, their eyes on the other hand looked like a hurricane was brewing in them. They didn't stay one solid color, it was a mixture of all four of their elements. All in all they seemed in good spirits. Davina, Buran, Terra and Anahita came back not long after the twins woke up. They've been giving them advice on how to maintain their abilities. "If they get too weak you can always heal them." Davina said to me. "What would make them weak?" I asked. "If they use a huge amount of energy in a short amount of time their bodies will drain." Terra said. "Well that shouldn't happen at all but I know if they do I'll be there to heal them. Has anyone seen or heard from Atsila?" I asked. Truthfully he didn't seem like a bad person.
His words have stayed in my head. He had no choice. What could that mean? Before we had put Stephens shield up Atsila was able to cross which meant he had. no ill intentions. Then we placed the secondary shield up which proved he had been in contact with dark magic. Lost in my own thoughts I didn't realize everyone was staring at me. "What?" I said "What are you thinking about princess?" Stephen asked, wrapping his arm around my waist. "The thing with Atsila is bothering me. He passed one shield only to be stopped by the other, if he had no ill intentions maybe he didn't have a choice." I said. No one seemed shocked by what I said. "I was thinking the same, what do we know about his private life? Does he have any kids? A wife? anything?" Stephen asked. "We aren't supposed to be with anyone unless the goddess approves and I have not heard of her approving anything." Davina said. "Okay well what does he have then? He looked disturbed that we thought he would actually betray us." I said
"If he was in trouble all he had to do was ask for help, there is always a choice." Buran huffed. Okay I get it they feel betrayed by him but even so what if he didn't have a choice? We sat down for dinner and everyone looked a lot better than when Rose and Denver delivered news we hadn't expected. Jackson and Tye just came back and told us that a few others would be coming within a few hours so we had the omegas get all the rooms ready for them. Stephen had steaks prepared tonight and I decided I was just going to enjoy everyones company, it's been a while since I had just relaxed. "Dad do you have plans on stepping down?" I asked, they haven't really said anything about it. "After the battle is over with I will step down and take your mother on a much needed vacation." He said smiling at my mother who just blushed making me giggle, for as long as I could remember they have loved each other non-stop. It's as if they are still kids crazy in love. "We don't have to go on a vacation, as long as our children are okay and you are safe then I am happy." She smiled, kissing him on the cheek. "Come on! We don't want to see that!" Tye huffed. Did my dad just blush?! I laughed harder seeing my dad blush.
"I think Jackson will make a fine Alpha, I look forward to doing business with you and keeping the good relationships." Stephen said Jackson looked at him and his facial features were relaxed. "I wouldn't have it any other way, you are my sisters mate. We will always stay united." Jackson said. I felt my heart swell listening to them. The fact that they are working on keeping everything peaceful and diminishing the borders between the packs make me extremely happy. "Alley as time goes on we will have to speak about a coronation for you and Stephen." Anahita spoke. "A coronation for what?" Stephen asked. "When the battle is over we have full faith that you two will prevail, when you do you both will be crowned king and queen." She said, As I looked closer I could see a figure behind the water but I couldn't make out the features yet. "I'm not worried about that just yet but when the time comes we still figure it all out." I said with a small smile. I didn't really want to think about it just yet.
"When am I going to get grand pups?" My mother said, I nearly dropped the fork in my hand and stared at my mother. "Goddess mom could you just not?! I'm still not over the other day!" Jacksons yelled as his face turned red. Stephen laughed at his reaction. "When everything is over and she becomes my wife then we will work on that." Stephen said, smiling at my mother. Jackson looked like his head was going to pop off his shoulders at any given moment. "I would love to have nieces and nephews." Tye said casually, see that's why I liked him a little better, he was more relaxed about things. "Jackson son calm down just wait till you meet your mate. What about you Alex? Brandon? Have y'all looked for your mates?" My father asked. "I've thought about it and right now I don't think I could really focus on a mate. Maybe after the battle is over I'll search for mine." Alex said. "I haven't really thought about mine. I've been more focussed on the important task that has come up, whoever she is, I hope she will understand why I haven't found her just yet." Brandon said.
I started to feel a burn rise in my chest, but as soon as it came it left. No one else seemed fazed by it so I continued on eating. Slowly I could feel the heat come back starting at my fingers working it's way up my arms. "Someone is walking by the shield." Sammie said. I looked at her then Jack. They both had a killer look on their face. "Could just be a rogue passing by, let's not get too worked up just yet." I said. We've been waiting for another attack but with both shields up it's impossible for that to happen. Sammie and Jack look uneasy, "What do you two feel?" Stephen asked. "It isn't a rogue. It's something else." Jack said. As soon as he finished his sentence my arm went up in flames, "AHH!" I jumped up out of my chair knocking it over and started swatting at my arm, Stephen grabbed his cup of water and threw it on my burning arm. "What the hell is that?!" I shouted, looking at my arm closely to see the damage. None. No damage. "West border." I whispered, running towards the door. "Alley wait! What is at the west border? You can't just run out there. Alex shift and go see but do not be seen." Stephen snapped.
