Chapter 68:

Alley POV:

"Pythia has the message and said she will be there with a few others." One of the trackers said through our link. I walked over to the book shelf and pulled out the map that showed all territories this side of the region, I grabbed a red marker and circled the queens land. "We should station ourselves at the front, we don't need to get spread out because then we won't be able to see each other." I said. The others surrounded me looking at the map. Charlotte grabbed the marker from my hand before making an oval circle at the front, "I think that's where we need to be." Charlotte said, looking down at the map. "We could have the dark witches behind us behind these trees." Diane said circling the trees that I would assume were 20 yards behind where we would stand. "Jack, Sammie you two could hide here." I said circling a small area 10 yards behind us. "Anyone else have anything to add?" I said looking around to everyone who was still studying the map. No one said a word which I took as a no. "Let's go meet with the dark witches then." I said looking out the window noticing the sun was started to set. I rolled up the map and held on to it. In the blink of an eye we were standing in front of Pythia, Stony, Lillith and about 10 others.
Pythia extended her hand to me in which I reached out and shook it. I opened the map and explained everything we had talked about. "That is a good plan, we won't interfere unless things get out of control. I do have some other news." Pythia said, staring at me. "What is it?" I asked, tilting my head to one side. "I think we may have found the area that the rogue king is hiding, surprisingly it isn't far, I've sent some of my people to check it out to see if it is accurate or not." Not going to lie, I'm a little shocked. "That's great news, hopefully it is accurate." I said. "That's what I am hoping, although some of the elders are not happy with my decision to make peace with the wolves but sooner or later they will get over it." Pythia said, shrugging her shoulders. "Hopefully they see this as a good thing, one less group to worry about." I said, offering a small smile. "I suppose, they are just stuck in their ways. Shall we go?" She asked, jerking her head towards the sun that had almost set. "We know where to go and be stationed." Pythia said before they all disappeared. "Don't teleport straight to the front, give ourselves room to walk up so they don't see anything." I said looking around to everyone. One by one they disappeared. I held Stephens hand and followed them.
When we arrived I could feel myself tense up. It was eerily quiet, trees lined the walkway which didn't make me feel any better, the castle at the end was huge. Kind of like in the movies, a tall slender figure stood at the entrance. I squared my shoulders and straightened my back mustering up all the courage I had in me and placed one foot in front of the other. The closer I got the more I could make out the figure. She had long sleek black hair that was braided on each side with her hair bumped up in the middle but slicked back as well, her eyes were a haunting red color and she stood 6'5" at the most. Goddess, why is she so tall? She wore a long black dress and her skin was deathly white. Behind her were about 10 vampires who looked similar but her gaze could burn into us a lot harder than they could. "I found your mutts stalking around my land, care to explain?" She asked. "There are things that happened that we would like to speak to you about but we got your message." I said, my voice thick with authority, it seemed to have taken her by surprise but she quickly hid it and scowled. "You dare send them here? I have a test in place, pass and I shall hear you out, fail and you shall die." She said, her voice held venom in it as if she were disgusted with us even being here.
She looked at each of us like she was trying to figure out our strengths. "You women look so tiny." She said, waving her hand in our direction. A loud growl erupted from me and I took a small step forward. "Don't ever underestimate us. Just because we aren't a giant doesn't make us weak." I said through clenched teeth. The corners of her lips tugged up and she raised her eyebrow, "Growling won't get you anywhere with me mutt, We have turned 30 humans, kill them and you may have my time." She said before she turned around with the others and walked up to the doors, she turned around eyeing us one last time before she nodded her head. 30 newborns?! Fuck! And she called me a mutt! Maybe seeking an alliance with her was a bad idea because right now, Rose and I want to rip her head clean off her shoulders. I perked my ears and heard rumbling on the ground, shit here they come. "Guys hold them off as long as we can, then expose our true selves." I said as we all backed into a circle, I could feel Stephen tense beside me rightfully so.
Fucking turned newborns are the absolute worst, the closer they got the faster my heart beat burst through my chest, I locked eyes on a female running straight at me. She looked deranged and wild, her hair was greasy and her fangs were out, more showed up around her. "Let's do this!" I shouted before bolting straight ahead not wanting to waste anymore time.
