Chapter 114:
Alley POV:
When I opened my eyes I knew I was at the grove. Athea was sitting on her swing and I felt my eyes swell up. No.. please tell me I am not dead. I walked forward trying my best to keep my shit together, just as I got close Rose walked out from behind the tree. "Alley my sweet girl, come have a seat." Athea said, patting the spot next to her. Numb. I felt numb as I dragged my feet forward to sit down next to her, I placed my hands in my lap and fiddled with my fingers. "Am I dead?" I asked, I didn't recognize my own voice. "No, you are not. I told you no one would die just as I told you serious injuries would happen. You will be fine my great white witch that I can promise you." Athea replied, well at least I'm not dead right? "What is happening to me?" I asked, I felt fine right now but I remember the pain of that damn blade. "They are working on closing your internal wounds, once they get you to stop bleeding and stitch you up, Davina will come to do the rest." Athea replied. I blew out the breath I didn't realize I was holding. "You have nothing to fear Alley, I am incredibly proud of you." Athea said, lifting my chin. "You did everything right, and when you and Rose became one your power enhanced. Don't blame yourself for not holding on longer." Athea said. Tears clouded my eyes as I sat and remembered everything that had happened.
Athea wrapped her arms around me, "Don't cry my sweet girl." She whispered. I felt Rose nudge my leg and I looked at her, she looked sad and that is something I haven't seen before. "Please don't cry Alley, I've been talking to Denver, everyone is alive because of you." Rose said. "She is right Alley, Denver will tell Stephen that you are here with me. I've brought you here to pass a little time, that's all, you don't deserve to sit in pain." Athea said, wiping away the tears that fell freely. "I was so scared that I had died. I didn't want to leave anyone behind." I said sniffling. "I have big plans for you all, especially you. You will be the ruler in that world, highly respected and heavily loved." Athea said, smiling at me. "But why me?" I asked, honestly why would she pick me? "You are strong, you have a huge heart. The women I have surrounded you by will be your confidants, they will be your counsel. Together you are all unstoppable, Pythia and Ambrosia will keep the peace and life will be much safer. All of your mates strengthen you all; it is a bond that is unbreakable." Athea replied. I guess that made sense. We will have to figure everything out and just do the best that we can. "Don't stress, I will aid in any way that I can. Rose, Denver and Ember will guide you all." Athea said as if she could hear my own thoughts.
Suddenly I felt warm. Really warm. "What is happening?" I whispered looking at my hands and arms that were now glowing. "Davina is healing you, here soon I will send you back. Rose will do the rest of the healing but you are to take it easy and listen to whatever they tell you to do okay?" Athea said sternly. "Yes ma'am, I promise I will listen." I replied smiling. I felt really bubbly and giggly. "Thank you for answering my prayer about Danny. I didn't want him to see any of that." I said smiling at her. Why am I smiling so much all of a sudden? "Danny didn't deserve to see what was going to happen to you, he is there with Stephen and the others waiting for you to wake up." Athea said as she stood off the swing. I looked at Rose who had her head tilted to the side. I bent down and hugged her. "Thank you Rose, you kept me strong when I thought I couldn't." I said. "You don't need to thank me. I will always keep you strong." Rose said as she stood. "It's time for you to go back now Alley, when you are ready all you have to do is open your eyes. They are waiting for you." Athea said as she kissed my forehead. "Thank you Athea, for everything." I replied. "Don't thank me, I will see you soon enough." She said as darkness once again welcomed me. I could hear people talking around me and as I remember Atheas words I tried to open my eyes but nothing happened.
Okay don't panic, relax I can do this, don't freak out. My body felt sore all over, I tried again to open my eyes and nothing happened. Fuck this was going to be harder than I thought. I felt someone touch my hand and I felt the familiar sparks, "Please wake up princess.." I heard Stephens sweet voice that was laced with worry. Focusing on his gentle touch I tried harder to open my eyes and finally they cracked open only to have them snap shut again, slowly I cracked open my eyes a little more. I blinked a few times before squinting, shit it's really bright in here. Stephens beautiful face appeared in my line of sight. "Alley..?" Stephen whispered. I tried to smile but my face hurt a lot. This was going to be a long road to recovery.
