Chapter 71:

Alley POV:
As soon as we walked through the doors I was surprised at how well decorated the place was. It looks abandoned from the outside. The inside had red carpet lining the floor, with pillars that went from the bottom to the top, canvases of previous queens and their kings with children lined the walls. "You may clean up in this room." Ambrosia said pointing at the door to our right. Stephen wasted no time walking through the door and setting me on the bed. I watched him walk to the bathroom and come back out with a small bowl of water and a washcloth. "Sit still princess." He said as he dipped the cloth in the water and started to clean off my face. I winced when he got close to my nose since it was still sore. "Talk to me, what's wrong?" I asked hoping he would tell me. I knew he was mad at the situation but I had to handle it. "I just didn't like being held back while you fought her. I'm suppose to protect you." His voice trailed off and it made me feel so bad. "I'm sorry, but you know I had to." I replied "I know princess and I know you can handle yourself but anyone who hurts you I want to kill." Stephen said.
I took the wash cloth from him, "We need to get to the others, I'll finish cleaning up tonight when we get home." I said, smiling at him. "I'll have a hot bath waiting for us when we get there." He replied with a lopsided grin, I felt my cheeks heat up from his words. We exited the room and followed the red carpet which led us to a massive room that had a giant chair sitting in the middle. "Ah you look a little better." Ambrosia said, shaking her head. "You aren't who I expected but Pythia was telling me about you and the others as well as Bosch and how he has some of my people working for him. I assure you I told him no." She said with a grim look on her face. "We don't have much time but we want a temporary alliance with you as well as the dark witches and we are also looking for the rogue king." I said. "He isn't hard to find, after all I'm the one that helped hide him." Ambrosia said casually as if she didn't just drop a huge bomb on us. She helped hide him? Why? "I'm sorry did you just say you helped hide him?" Chloe asked. Ambrosia nodded her head, "Yes, I did. I owed him a favor for saving me from those dirty dogs. He met him mate who is human, she knows fully who he is and he gave up everything for her." I was stunned. His mate is human? So the rumors are true then.
From what I had heard he was horrible but no one really met him. Maybe he wasn't as bad as people thought or maybe he was born into it. "We will get back to him in a moment but we need to discuss a few things before, are you interested in an alliance? I mean if Pythia filled you in then you should know everything." I said looking between the two. "I will agree on one condition." Ambrosia said. I nodded my head to get her to continue speaking, "We all train together, human turned newborn are wild but I can't just keep going around turning random people, my vampires are strong but lack techniques." She said, I didn't even have to look at the others to know we would agree on that. "We can do that, it will be important to work with each other when everything happens." I replied. "Pythias locator spell worked, that is where he is. I can send some of my people with y'alls to his address so he knows he is not in danger." Ambrosia offered. That kind of surprised me. "I honestly didn't think you'd agree to work with us." I said Ambrosia chuckled "I didn't plan to truthfully, but you fought better than anyone I've come across and earned my respect." She said,
"We should send them tonight, the faster we get everyone here the faster we can train." Stephen said "I agree, we need to start training before the week is up. I have a feeling Bosch isn't going to like hearing we have all teamed up." Pythia said. "We will have to lower the shield to allow y'all into our territory but the fire shield will remain, you will be fine so long as you don't have ill intentions towards us or anyone in our packs." I said looking between the women. They will have to behave or be killed. "I might consider keeping the alliance at the end of all of this. It wouldn't be the worst idea to be in everyone's good graces for once. We have much to learn." Ambrosia said. Not sure how much of that I actually believe but it would be nice to keep everything peaceful for a change, after all that was going to be our job after everything is over. "When everything is said and done the chosen women and their mates will make up the council. We don't have anyone to oversee all the vampires and maybe that could be you." I said, surprise registered on Ambrosias face. "I already do but maybe I can form a council of my own, are you okay with them ruling over the dark witches?" She asked Pythia who shrugged her shoulders. "Like you said, we have much to learn."
"Anyone else have anything they want to ask?" I asked through our links. Diane cleared her throat and our eyes fell on her. "So what happened to the rogue king? He met his human mate and gave up everything?" Diane asked. "Yes he did. He isn't as bad as you would think he is. I will let him tell his own story when he comes back. He is the only one who can control most of those rogues." Ambrosia replied. "Until tomorrow then, Pythia knows what to do to get our attention. When you get close to the shield, press on it three times. It'll let us know that it is you and where to go. We will drop the shield whenever you are all gathered." I said looking between the women. "Deal. I will see you all tomorrow." Pythia said before she disappeared. "Alley if I may..?" Ambrosia started. "Of course, what is it?" I asked. "I knew Pythias mother. She was not a kind woman, I hope Pythia isn't like her or we will all be in great trouble." She finished. It was a warning but truthfully I didn't trust any of them. I nodded my head in understanding.
I grabbed Stephens hand and we all went back to our territory. "I'm not sure what to think of her warning, does she think we trust her completely?" Emma asked. "I'm not sure but we all need to be cautious around them, the last thing we need is to be blind sided." Collin said. I leaned on Stephen for a little support, my side was killing me. "I'm going to take Alley to get cleaned up and checked out by the pack doctor. We will see everyone later." Stephen said as he picked me back up and started walking towards the house.
