Chapter 65:
Alley POV:
Usually when someone touches the shield it stings more, but this is just a tingly feeling which makes me curious. The alphas minus Stephen shifted in to their wolves just as an extra precaution, Brandon, Alex and Tye stayed in human form. The closer we got to the edge of the territory I could start making out a few figures. One of them stood out the most, she didn't look like the others, she had long black hair and pale skin, she stood about 6 feet. I could tell she was studying me as well. By now I was able to see the man and woman we met at that house, they kept any emotions off their faces. She must be confident if she only brought those two. We stopped about 10 yards from them and we all studied each other. "I heard the great white witch herself summoned me and I have to admit I am curious." Pythia said. Her dark green eyes bored into mine, her voice had an edge to it. "I did, I caught those two at a house where we found an enemy. Care to explain that?" I asked crossing my arms across my chest.
Pythia tilted her head to the side as if she was amused by me. "I figured you would be.. bigger, but these two said you were stronger than you appear." She said, earning a few growls from the men behind me. She narrowed her eyes at them but brought her gaze back to me. "You see, my mother was a power whore. Wanted it all and didn't care what would happen to her and the rest of us. When word came that you were the great white witch it angered my mother and she wanted your power." Pythia said looking disgusted. "Bosch had come to us wanting to work together but she denied him, she didn't want to share that power, but then I looked into what would happen if she did consume your power." She paused, pinching the bridge of her nose. "She would have literally burst taking all of our kind with her to the after world. You see why I had to kill her and take over?" She asked, "What do you mean she would have burst taking you all with her?" I asked because honestly I couldn't click everything together. "We are dark witches with dark magic, if we were to consume white magic it would kill us. Our bodies aren't meant to carry it. Even if a basic dark witch consumes it, it will kill them almost instantly." She said,
Now that is shocking. It Makes sense though, the goddess only gives us what we can handle. "Then I heard of a few dark witches that have been working for Bosch, taking our herbs and potions to aid him so I sent these two to figure out who it was." She said, never once taking her eyes off of me. "They must have been working for him for a long time then because the traitor we caught had a ritual held to make her become some sort of seer. It's how Bosch knew about me before I did." I said tilting my head trying to gauge her reaction but she gave none. "Ah yes, the elders, they were asked to do that and they did, they were recently killed but not by our hands." Pythia replied. "What happened to them?" I asked. "Not sure, we were all in a meeting and their necks just snapped. She replied. "Oh shit, were they tied to Bethany?" Emma asked through the link. "When they did the ritual did they tie themselves to Bethany?" I asked, now I've got a reaction. Shock registered on her face. "Yes, in order to make a seer it has to be infused with dark magic. How did you know?" She asked. "Well we killed Bethany for her crimes, the woman she hurt the most snapped her neck at a public execution." I replied. I didn't know it would kill others but honestly I didn't care.
"Well that answers that. I don't harbor any bad feelings, they knew what would happen, I came to offer peace for now at least. It seems we want to stop the same thing." She said looking at all of us. "That is something we will have to talk about privately. Once we discuss it we will come to you, so long as we stay within our shield we know dark magic can't touch us." I replied. "Very well. You know where to find me for now I bid you a good day." Pythia said before her and the other two disappeared. "Let's go back to the house and discuss this." I said looking at each of them, the men shifted into their human form and put on shorts that were hidden for them. In the blink of an eye we were all back in Stephens office. "Why should we trust her?" Collin asked. "She is right about them combusting if they consume white magic." Jack said, gaining all our attention. "I read it in one of the books today but didn't have time to tell anyone because of her arrival. But Dark witches can't use white magic, just like white witch can't use dark magic." Jack finished. "So what is everyones thoughts on her wanting peace?" I asked. "I think we should. If she could aid us in stopping Bosch then I think we should at least try. If she crosses us then we can kill her." Jasmine said. "
"We will have to keep an open mind about all of this since we will be having the same conversations with the other leaders. Maybe this will be a way for them to trust us a little if they see we made peace with them." Diane said. "I suppose, or it could show us as more of a threat." Josh said. "They already view us that way, especially Alley. but we do have to start somewhere." Stephen said. Could this be a turning point for us all? Bosch is a huge threat and who's to say he would stop with me? What if he goes after the rest too? "If we don't team up with the rest this battle could cause us more casualties than we want. We don't know how many people are working for Bosch but I have a feeling it's bigger than our packs." I said. Everyone seemed deep in thought. "I say we agree for now, like you said as long as we stay in the shield dark magic can't touch us and if they do cross us we can kill them." Devin said. Slowly everyone nodded their heads agreeing. "Alright well I'm sure she is waiting for us so lets get this over with. Stay close together though okay?" I said, "Everyone hold hands so we end up in the same place at once." Emma said. We all got in a circle holding the hand of the people next to us. I closed my eyes and focussed on the bayou that was at the rivers edge.
