Chapter 116:
Alley POV:
"Alright you may go, I will be by three times a day to check you over starting tomorrow okay?" Julie said, gaining my attention. Denver bent down and picked me up off the bed, I flinched a little but tucked myself in his arms. "I'd rather carry you like this. Feels more intimate." Denver whispered. "I agree and I don't mind. You're being much gentler though which is nice." I replied. "I would be anything you needed me to be, Gentle, mean, nice, emotional. Anything that would make you happy or make you better I would do." Denver replied and as the words left his mouth I was hit with so many emotions. Here was a very large and very tough wolf being gentle and sweet. "I love you just the way you are Denver you know that." I replied. He can be a brute but I wouldn't have him any other way. "We need more time to bond, it was great when we were with Athea but I like the skin on skin contact. Makes me relax a lot more." Denver said, holding me tighter as we walked across the field. "I promise we will get more time like this. How did Stephen give you control so easily?" I asked curiously. "Well I decided that being an asshole about it wouldn't get me very far so I tried the nice way instead." Denver replied. "I will have to thank him when he comes back, after I am healed I will let Rose out, and maybe you two can go for a run, what do you think?" I asked. "I would like that a lot actually but there is no rush my princess." Denver said as he kissed the top of my head.
We walked in silence and I noticed people started coming out to watch as we walked by. Smiles lit their faces and I have to admit, being outside feeling the setting sun on my skin felt incredible. It seems like a lifetime since I have felt the sun. I heard whispers but didn't perk my ears enough to hear them, the link started going crazy with people yelling about seeing me finally out of the hospital. I closed my eyes and closed the link so I wouldn't get a headache. I didn't need Julie cussing me because I did the opposite of what she said to do. "Oh uh we forgot to tell you something Alley by the way." Denver stated a little nervous. I don't like the sound of that. "Okay what is it?" I asked, "Jackson found his mate.." Denver replied. Jackson found his mate?? That is great! He has been waiting a long time to find her. "That is good news! Who is she?" I asked excitedly. "Well he is worried about your reaction but his mate is a vampire." Denver replied. "Why would that bother me? Why is he scared of my reaction to it?" I asked. He honestly has no worries about my reaction. "Well it is because of who the vampire is. It's Ambrosia.." Denver hesitantly replied. Ambrosia? Now that is interesting. "But still, why would he be worried about my reaction? I actually like Ambrosia." I stated scrunching my face. "Well I'm not sure, Tye also met his mate, it's Pythia. They all met in the battle and I think they are worried no one will truly keep the peace and with them all being mated it could complicate things." Denver said.
Oh shit. Tye and Pythia? Still I liked her so they shouldn't be worried about telling me. I guess I could see if things were different my reaction would be different but they have stayed in the territories actually helping us get things back on track and things are actually looking up. Just as we walked in the door there stood Ambrosia and Pythia standing in the kitchen helping my mom and Danny cook dinner for everyone. Jackson and Tye looked at me and lowered their heads. "Denver, I need you to put me down and give Stephen control back. If he lets you then you can help me bathe later." I said, kissing his cheek. As soon as my feet hit the floor I looked at both my brothers. "You two in the living room now please." I said walking towards the living room. I turned around and looked at them both, "You both should be ashamed, scared to tell me about your mates? Why? I like both of them and they have been very helpful, so tell me why. Why were y'all so scared?" I stated staring between them. "We didn't know what you thought of them and you are our baby sister and we didn't want to upset you in anyway." Jackson said. "We know they are keeping the peace but we didn't know the relationship between you guys so it made us nervous." Tye said, lowering his head. "All I ever want is for you two to be happy, we will figure everything else out but as far as those women, I know they will keep y'alls asses in line and will be good for you both." I replied.
They walked over to me and wrapped me in a hug. "I'm sorry we upset you, we didn't mean to." Tye said, kissing the top of my head. "Yeah we just want things to go well for once." Jackson said. "Things will get better boys, I'm proud of you both." I replied, hugging them as tight as I could. "Dinner is ready." Stephen said from the doorway. Thank goddess because I am so hungry. Now that I know about their mates they seemed much happier, so we walked towards the dining room where Pythia and Ambrosia looked at me nervously. "I am happy for both of you ladies, welcome to our family. Now have a seat and let's eat." I said smiling at them, I could see them relax at my words. I didn't think it would be possible to feel so much love in one room but here we are, smiling, happy and filled with so much love.
