Chapter 92:
Alley POV:
To say the day was eventual would be an understatement. Danny met his wolf Ember, I knew she was special but I didn't know she would turn out to be our little Danny's wolf. "Mommy, Daddy can I ask something?" Danny asked. He passed out the moment we were transported back into our world. Let's say he had a power nap. He seems energized at least. "Of course you can sweetie what is it?" I asked, sitting down beside him. "I want to go see my aunt." Danny said. Uh what? He wants to go see her? "Why would you want to do that?" Stephen asked, looking like I felt. "Because, Athea said I have to forgive her for me. Or I could carry it around forever and I don't want to be mad or sad. I want to be happy in my new home with my new mommy and daddy." Danny said. Well I wasn't expecting that. "Well if that is what you want then yes, we will take you to see her." I replied. "She won't hurt me will she?" Danny asked. "We would never allow that. She may say some mean things to you though but you just need to remember to not take it to heart okay?" Stephen said. "Take it to heart?" Danny asked, his little face scrunched up. "He means don't let it bother you. She is just a mean person." I replied, pushing his hair to the side. "But what if I cry?" Danny asked. "It's okay to cry baby boy. You just need to know Alley and I will protect you from her and we can leave at any time." Stephen said.
Maybe this wasn't a good idea. What if she upsets him? How will I control the urge to rip her throat out? "I will not let you. He needs this. He deserves this." Rose grunted. "I know he does Rose but come on what if she says some hurtful things?" I replied. "Then she does, she will not survive long and you know it." Rose huffed. Alright so she did have a point there. We knew that she would not live much longer but I still can't help but worry. "Hey Rose, if Danny really needs Ember how will his little body hold her?" I asked, that is something I have been thinking about since it was said. "Until Athea feels like Danny can hold her without getting hurt she will not be a part of him like we are with y'all. She must be sent over by Athea herself only when the situation is dire." Rose replied. "So if something happens to Danny and we are not around Ember will come through to protect him? And then what? Go back?" I asked. "That will be up to Athea. She can combine them when he is old enough." Rose replied.
Well that would make sense. Kind of. Would be pretty cool, honestly. Hopefully a situation like that never happens but I can relax a little knowing Ember would push through and keep him safe. "Are you hungry at all Danny?" I asked. "I am a little bit but I would rather go see my aunt if that is okay." Danny replied. "Alright let's go before the others get back." Stephen said. As we stood up Danny stood between Stephen and I and held our hands. "Is Rose and Denver back in your head?" Danny asked. I heard Rose snort in my head. Even though she is a tough ass she has a major soft spot for Danny. "Yes they are. They really love you kiddo just like me and Alley." Stephen said, smiling down at him. "Were they bigger than you thought? Denver is soo soft but not as soft as Ember is." Danny said. A giggle escaped my lips. I knew Denver would be a little offended but let's be honest, who could stay mad at a child like this? "Denver said all he needs is a good shower and condition." Stephen replied. "What's condition?" Danny asked. "It's what mommy uses in her hair to make it super soft." Stephen said, grinning at me. "Can I feel it?!" Danny said looking up at me with a smile I couldn't refuse. I picked him up and straddled him on my left hip. "Go ahead." Before I could even get the words out Danny's little hands shot up to my hair.
I knew it would look like I walked through a tornado by the time he was done but I didn't mind. "Ohh it is so soft! Can I condition? I want soft hair too! I could condition Ember too!" He seems so happy and excited to learn about conditioners. "I'm sure Ember would love that." I replied, setting him back down on the ground. Danny was the first to reach the door before he hesitated. "Hey it's okay buddy we will be here every step of the way." Stephen assured him. I opened the door to see everyone standing on the porch, I looked around at everyone. "I thought y'all wouldn't be back until later?" I asked. "We decided to come back early and heard the conversation. We would like to go with y'all to see his aunt. We want him to know he is well protected." Emma said looking at Danny. "Y'all would do that? For me? But why?" Danny asked wide eyed, staring at everyone. "Because little dude you're my nephew and we don't let family go in alone." Collin said. Oh my goddess I think my heart is going to explode. "You are the sweetest boy I have ever met. We just want to be there for you is all." Jasmine said. "Guys I don't know what to say.. This means a lot that you all support him so much." I said tearing up.
