CHAPTER 12

CHAPTER TWELVE
Avyanna's date for the Night of the Feast, Jonathan, stood still like a bodyguard by the ajar door to her room dressed in a pink blazer, a pinstriped shirt, and ash pants.
The role of a date and bodyguard seemed to suit him perfectly; he was properly ripped, tall, and his handsomeness would complement Avyanna's beauty.
In her room, Avyanna checked out her pretty black dress in the mirror, admiring herself and smirking at the thought of her plan coming to fruition. Jonathan in his stiff position, turned to peek into the room. Avyanna, with the help of the mirror, saw Jonathan peeking and he did as well.
An uncomfortable silence ensued as Jonathan kept gawking at Avyanna's outfit.
"You're already set for tonight and you're looking too good for a Zeta I must confess." Avyanna broke the silence as she looked away from the mirror and signaled Jonathan to walk into her room and make himself comfortable.
"Thank you for the compliment my Luna. You look very much exquisite as well for the night."
"Well I decided to have a different look today in my appearance." She spun slowly for Jonathan to get a full view of her dress.
"It fits you perfectly my Luna." Jonathan confirmed.
"Is everyone ready for the Feast? The venue is quite a distance from here."
"Yes my Luna. They are all waiting outside. I came to inform you that Alpha Ericson ordered me to accompany you to the Feast tonight." Jonathan gave Avyanna a confused look because he didn't understand why the Alpha would order him to take the Luna as his date.
Avyanna seeing how perplexed Jonathan was, decided to clear the air, "I'm aware of that. You have no need to be surprised, he is going with is mate which is kind of a good thing. At least this will let her understand what she will be facing as time goes on." Avyanna said.
"With all due respect my Luna, are you really going to give them that space they need and let that happen?" Jonathan arched an eyebrow.
"I don't understand what you mean."
"Alpha Ericson cares about you deeply but aren't you going to fight to win him back? Nancy is his mate but you are his chosen mate. He chose you over every lady in Wales."
"That was because he didn't find his mate yet. Maybe I should find mine as well so we would be on the same page here." Avyanna knew Jonathan had a point but she was not in the mood to fight back. In her past life, she tried to fight for her husband's love but she ended up losing him. Avyanna deciding that in the second life gifted to her, she would only fight for what belonged to her and at that moment she was very sure that Ericson did not originally belong to her despite the years they had spent with each other_ they spent so long together, it seemed like they would last for a lifetime.
"But she is just an Omega and you are the Luna."
"Jonathan, one thing you must understand is that I cannot force my husband to prefer me over his mate. If he places me as his priority as he claims, then he will have to prove it to me. He can't live with the both of us, it has to be me or the Omega. Also I'm done having this conversation with you, let's go outside and meet the rest of the people, I don't want to be late."
Jonathan got up from the chair, offered his hand to Avyanna, who slid hers under his, and walked her outside grandly.
Ericson, Nancy, Vanessa and Will had been waiting for Avyanna and Jonathan. They were all supposed to get into one limousine that will convey them to the venue where the Feast held, and Avyanna kept tgem waiting.
As Avyanna cat-walked grandly out of the pack house, everyone who saw her complimented her beauty and her beautiful dress. They also couldn't help but wonder why Jonathan was her date and not her husband. Avyanna, on the other hand, had already prepared herself for the unspoken questions because it happened in her past life. The only change this time around was that Eric chose Jonathan to be her date instead of his Beta, Will.
Jonathan remained a good choice as Avyanna knew that he would be busy guarding the area and he won't be able to spend enough time with her in the Feast which was an advantage to her because it would allow her move around freely and talk to the people she intended to meet as well.
"Oh my goodness! Avyanna your outfit is literally the best here." Vanessa cried out as Avyanna hugged her.
Avyanna glanced Nancy holding Ericson's hands and decided to not disturb their little session together but Ericson's eyes caught hers already.
"Avy, you're just as perfect as always." Ericson complimented.
Nancy eyed Avyanna as she saw her dress. She wanted to be the prettiest that night so she wore the Luna's outfit but Avyanna had already beaten her to it, thanks to the Lycan Alpha.
"You're really looking pretty tonight." Will said as he stood beside Vanessa.
"The dress is really unique, but My Luna I thought they was a particular way of dressing meant for you during the Feast." Nancy added, she didn't want to feel left out in the conversation and Avyanna was aware of her means to bring up a conversation that would not go along with her.
"Like you said, my dress is unique and I like being different from other people." Avyanna responded.
"So how did finally get the perfect dress?" Vanessa asked.
"Fortunately, the Lycan Alpha packaged this as part of the gifts that were brought to me today. He just knew the perfect dress to send at the right time." Avyanna said as she smiled and winked at Nancy.
"What do you mean? Your dress was sponsored by me. I made sure Vanessa put that in place before today." Ericson said, avertng his gaze to his sister.
"Yes I'm aware of that but some changes took place and I had to pick the Lycan Alpha's gift, besides like you said, it fits me perfectly."
"What kind of changes are you talking about?" Ericson wasn't happy, he hated the idea of another man financing his wife's extravagance.
"Oh didn't Nancy tell you? She saw me hold the dress that was proudly sponsored by you and since she didn't have one to wear for the Feast, I had to give up mine as a great Queen who cares for her people." Avyanna said.
Ericson could no longer argue about why Avyanna wore the dress she received from the Lycan King because his mate wore the dress made for Avyanna. He could tell he lost the argument.
"We should start moving, we have to be in Charleston in thirty minutes." Jonathan said breaking the awkward silence.
Ericson, Avyanna, Nancy and Jonathan entered the limo and Jonathan drove.
"Alpha Ericson, I never would have thought I would witness a day like this when I am with my mate, attending the full moon Feast." Nancy said as she placed her head on Eric's chest.
All through the ride, Nancy lamented on how terrible her life was until Eric found her. Avyanna was so bored the whole time and the only reason she did not doze off was to prevent herself from ruining her hair and her makeup.
The Night of the Full Moon Feast was held annually to celebrate the existence of various packs. It was also a fund raising event for the poor wolves, the lone wolves, and the new packs that didn't have a place of their own. The essence of the Feast was for wolves from various packs to socialize.
The hall where the feast held, as colossal as it was, was filled to capacity. The walls were gold plated and it shone dimly. Wolves from all claws, jaws, and eyes of the werewolf life, paraded the hall, socializing and meeting with one another. The hall was decorated with tables that were without chairs. Waiters walked around with a glass of champagne or two in a golden saucer for the guests delight. Dancers hung from poles dancing sensually to the slow tune that played in the background. The hall was perfect without a sliver of silver in sight, until Avyanna walked in.
Ericson walked inside the hall hand in hand with his mate Nancy. Jonathan took his place behind the Luna.
All eyes were on Avyanna as she entered the hall. The eyes focused on two things, the first was her breathtaking dress and the second was the fact that her husband wasn't her date for the night.
In her past life, she felt timid and embarrassed at the situation because she believed that she wasn't enough for her husband but she had to give them what they wanted to know.
Avyanna wished they all knew the story of her past life but that scenario had explained it all. She was the beautiful Luna who was rejected by her husband because of an Omega.
