CHAPTER 89

CHAPTER EIGHTY NINE

Theseus walked the room with his hands behind his back. He looking at them with haughty eyes because of how timid they were by the powers that he exhibited.
Theseus was the type to exhibit his abilities whenever he could. He looked at Thomas, Avyanna, Nancy and Baron with pity. He moved to their cage and spat on the musty floor. He was displeased that he would have to kill Thomas and Nancy too early. He knew he would kill them anyway but not now.
He looked at Nancy and he smiled. ‘Oh, how strong she thought she was’, Theseus imagined. He was not interested in discussing with them he only wanted to glorify himself. He wanted to prove to them how worthless they were. He was going to reveal his true nature to them, and that was his way of having fun and glorifying himself, that was the way of telling them that the Theseus they knew was not all there was to his nature.
“Poor Avyanna, look how blinded you have become. You do not know or understand your relevance. That’s why you keep walking around, finding who completes you, when you can complete whoever you want to. You see, that’s my problem with all of you; you never see what you have until Theseus collects and utilizes it, then he becomes evil.”
As Theseus spoke, Avyanna glared at him angrily. Baron was ready to rip off Theseus’ throat.
“You see Avyanna I know you, even more than you can say you know about yourself. I can hear your fears, I smell your confusion, I can see your ignorance and touch your desires. You have the type of treasure I seek my dear.” Theseus groaned and grinned.
“I hold nothing of yours, I have no treasure you can steal, you wizard.” Avyanna was fiercer than she had ever been. She wished so much that she ripped Theseus head off.
“Let’s take him.” She spoke telepathically with Katie.
“No not right now. This is not the perfect moment.” Katie said, “Let’s wait.”
Avyanna could not believe how her sweet old friend had turn into a foe already. She remembered all his kind gestures; How could a sweet person, turn out to be so deadly?
Theseus moved slowly towards Baron and Avyanna’s cages.
“Don’t you dare touch her!” Baron yelled.
“Or what?” Theseus was angry that Baron keot trying even though his weakness was obvious. Theseus disappeared and appeared behind Avyanna.
The maniacal chuckle that followed deeply scared the four who looked helpless.
“You cannot protect her from me in my kingdom, you thwart. The only way you can preserve the life of your miserable love is outside my kingdom. The only way outside my kingdom is alive and that will never happen because you will be dead by dusk.” Theseus groaned
“My Avyanna, I’m I going to explain why I need you so desperately. Yes I am going to explain. The importance of you to me, your value, your life force, your unused powers.”
“What do you mean?”
“I have watched you for a very long time and I sensed your life force, so I sent my minion Nancy to get you. But she did not, did she?” Theseus looked at Nancy.
“What is he talking about?” Nancy muttered to Thomas.
“She killed you.” Theseus volleyed his gaze back to Avyanna.
“How… do you know that?” Avyanna was immensely shocked at the discovery.
“How does he know what? Did you die Avy? When did you die?” Baron questioned. He was as confused as Thomas was.
“I …” Avyanna’s heart was rid of words to say.
“Then I sensed a rip in the time and space continuum but I wasn’t sure who the moon goddess had graced until I saw you passing through the void.” Theseus smirked.
“What the hell are you?” Avy whispered, recalling the image she saw when she passed through the void.
“Then I knew that the queen of the moon gave you a new life. Your blood was still so clean and calling me when you lived a second life. No-one knew, except… What was her name again, Gina.”
“Gina!? You keep my sister out of this!” Baron roared.
“One more word from you!” Theseus roared at Baron as his eyes reddened. “As I was saying, before I can have your life-force, you need to die. I watched you from the shadows struggling with your confidence day after day, and night after night. You were unsure of what your new life was supposed to change or do. That’s where my pawn, my forever ready Nancy came in.” Avyanna stood, shocked and angry. He read her like a book, no one knew that part about her, not even Baron, and she wondered what Nancy’s involvement was, apart from what she knew.
Theseus disappeared from the room instantly without any prior warning or reason, giving the four creatures a little time to discuss for a while.
But, Nancy and Thomas did not speak. They knew that whatever was said in Uncertainty would be heard by Theseus.
“Avyanna, what was he talking about?” Baron asked.
“I have always wanted to tell you Baron, but I did not know how to.”
“I guess, I wasn’t the only one with secrets.”
Just then, Theseus appeared back into the room, this time he was seated on his throne. Theseus sat down, smiling and groaning. Then he pointed at Nancy, “Nancy, you were so blinded by rage and anger. From the very first day I raided your village and people I knew I was going to get blessed by it.”
Nancy turned rabid, “You did what!” She rattled her cage furiously, for she wanted nothing more than to rip Theseus head off.
Theseus continued without paying attention to her, “Your pack abandoned you all so I could play the savior in your life. You were looking for hunters meanwhile who you should have looked for was Theseus Brute. I saw how you grew to be manipulative, you were all I needed to get to Avyanna, all I needed. You always felt you were smart and no one could play you, well I give accolades to your dead parents for raising a warrior, that would still die to me for power, which I gave to you, and all this devil asked for was just your loyalty and honesty, but being the fool you are, you allowed this little bird, you allow Nancy think for you. Now you will die for breaking your oath of loyalty, you know it is hard for Theseus to forgive, because no one had ever forgiven him, no one!”
Theseus foamed with anger before he continued, “Look at you Baron! I am sure you have not found any justifying reason why you killed Ericson. I do not want to dwell so much on petty matters. You claim to be master alpha, but you have no consciousness attached to your reasoning. Your goals you have all planned to achieve seems not to be attainable, well you won’t blame me for wanting to make use of your alpha abilities. You have no control over your territory, I do! So stop trying to protect it.”
“Who the hell are you to tell me what to do to my kingdom.”
“It would cost you your life. What am I even blabbing about? It has cost you your life already.” Theseus laughed.
The four wondered who Theseus really was; was he just a cryptic old man, or a devil, or a spy? What exactly was he? Who was he?
Avyanna stood humiliated inside the cage, not just for herself, but for every one of the creatures that Theseus had used to create a stupid joke.
“You are so wicked Theseus, you have no true alliance. Everyone that works for you is hypnotized, you are not loved or cared for by anyone, you are alone…” Just as Avyanna was about to say the next word, Theseus whooshed to her and flung her out of her cage. Then, he held her neck just like he imagined he would. He squeezed it until she almost passed out, then he threw her back inside the cage and held the loin of his garment.
Theseus roared, “You have no idea the responsibilities and prerequisite to have the type of power I have. You don’t need people, you make the people you want, you have no idea the Vampires, the demons, the sirens, they alphas and Omegas, the witches and even the wizards I have met. Some I have fought and many others I have killed. My power today is by my sweat and hard work, of cause greed and self-centeredness brought me farther than you can imagine.” He struck the gate of the creatures open. He did it out of rage.
Thomas had been awfully silent but not anymore. After Theseus finished ranting, Thomas thundered, “I will kill you Theseus, even if it is the last thing that I do.”
Theseus was disappointed that Thomas was upset, “Of course you would want to kill me, but do you remember how I was your life saver? your jinn! Even though the berserker was my minion. I knew killing your parents would be the perfect origin story for you. Too bad. If you push me too hard, I will not make your death quick but painful, and I will do it without remorse.”
Thomas boiled in anger. He was a very strong Alpha who rarely used one hundred percent of his strength. Bu tin that moment, he did.
Thomas roared and ripped the cage he was in into shreds, causing a force that also took apart the other cages.
Baron immediately turned into his wolf and so did Avyanna. Nancy levitated into the atmosphere as her eyes turned black as she turned into the monster she really was. Thomas wolf was the largest in the room, bearing green eyes and silver fur. It breathed anger at Theseus.
The squad howled, with in-depth fury, aiming for a particular spot that they could easily chew out.
Bonded by the same goal, they launched at Theseus.
Theseus smirked, “This is going to be fun.”
