CHAPTER 48
CHAPTER FOURTY EIGHT
"Avyanna, please tell me, did he hurt you?" Ericson ran towards Avyanna to help her stand up but she pushed his hands away standing up on her own. She got up from the chair she was bound, and moved to the sofa in Thomas office where she sat more comfortably.
"I'm totally fine as you can see." Avyanna responded harshly in a rude tone. Baron didn't go close to her, he knew he had offended her and she deserved a better apology. He was happy that she was safe but he didn't show it.
"So why capture her if you didn't intend to hurt her? And why is she in your office?" Baron faced Thomas, asking him with a hint of confusion in gis voice. He sounded like a detective that was onto something.
"Your Highness, I don't think you have a right to know that because her husband is here." Thomas responded with his sociopathic smile.
"Yes he is right. I don't think he has any explanation to make to you." Avyanna cut in, avoiding Baron's gaze. He could sense that she was still pissed with him.
"Avyanna I know you are angry but we need to understand what is going on here for your safety." Baron said in a cool tone. He was calm and overly different from the drunk state he was in when Avyanna saw him last.
"Thomas why did you capture my wife?" Ericson growled.
"Well, because I like her. Besides she seems pretty comfortable here in my Kingdom." Thomas said with a grin.
"I'm not here to play mind games with you, but if you ever lay your hands on my wife again, I will not hesitate to end you." Ericson blurted out.
"Are you sure I'm your wife like you claim?" Avyanna couldn't control her emotions anymore, everyone she was close to had hurt her.
"What do you mean? You're my wife and I love you so much, heedless of our difference of opinion." Ericson pacified her by placing his hand on her shoulder.
"Please, cut the crap!" Avyanna retorted, shrugging his hands off her body.
"Avyanna you should take it easy with Ericson, he actually cares, he came all the way to the Lycan territory to help me search for you." Baron intervened. He couldn't believe he was siding the one person that was stopping him from claiming his mate.
"When did you start taking sides with him? And why do you even act like you care?" Avyanna asked. She felt so much anguish from every side she looked at, even Thomas who kept smiling because he was enjoying the drama.
"Of course I care otherwise I won't be standing here. We want to know why he took you because we are worried and concerned about you." Baron said.
"Well, your Majesty, Thomas brought me here inorder to reveal the truth to me" Avyanna said and then looked at Ericson with scorn. She noticed the very obvious change in Ericson's composure and countenance. Ericson had a sweaty nose and he glanced at Thomas with a clenched jaw and a murderous stare.
His reaction was the answer to all the questions she asked herself, "So it is true..." Tears rolled down Avyanna's eyes, as she spoke.
"Avy, wait... I can explain." Ericson pleaded immediately. He almost fell to his knees in that moment.
"Don't you dare call me Avy again!" Avyanna yelled, her heart shredded into pieces by a lot.
"What is going on here? Eric what's the matter? What did you do?" Baron could feel Avyanna's hurt and pain. He hated that she felt that way and he wanted to take her pain away.
"Avyanna it's not what you think it is and it doesn't change how much you mean to me." Ericson kept on pleading like it meant something to Avyanna.
"Please spare me! You killed my parents and you say you love me?" Avyanna was tearing up so much because she couldn't help it.
"What the hell! Is it true Ericson?" Baron growled in anger. He was aware of Ericson putting the Omega first before Avyanna, his wife, but he didn't think Ericson was the kind to murder people just like that, especially his wife's parents.
"Please it's not what everyone thinks. It wasn't my fault, I was used that period but I promise you that I am not the same person anymore. Please believe me." Ericson went on his knees begging Avyanna.
"Why would I believe you after all the things you've done to me? Now I see why it was so difficult for you to reject your mate like you promised me. I can't believe you managed to hide the truth from me for this number of years. So Ericson everything you ever said to me, all the things you ever assured me of was a lie?" Avyanna wailed. Baron walked to her side but he didn't know what to do to comfort her but he could feel her pains so he just placed his hand on her shoulder as she wept.
"That's not true, I meant all the things I said to you right from when we were in love with each other. After the grave mistake I made, I was so plagued with guilt and I've always wanted to tell you the truth and I didn't know how to bring it up." Ericson explained, still on his knees facing Avyanna.
"That's a lie! If Thomas didn't tell me the truth, I would have been left in the dark till the day I leave this planet." Avy yelled, snot running down her nose, her heart bleeding, and her throat dry.
"Please Avyanna, you have to believe me, I am a changed person." Ericson moved to touch her. He was basically grovelling before Avy, but she wasn't having it.
"You have caused me so much pain and I don't think I can ever forgive you." She sniffed.
"Please Avyanna, I am going to do whatever you ask me to do, please I am very sorry, it wasn't my intentions to kill your parents. It was something I couldn't control. My life was at stake and I had no other choice. I am really sorry." Ericson rambled on.
"I don't think I want to hear your own side of the story, because if I was in your shoes, I would never kill my husband's parents if I'm so much in love with him." She wiped her tears with her palms and sniffled as her mind told her the next line of action.
"I'm really sorry Avyanna."
"You do not deserve pity, you should be killed!" Avyanna screamed as she stormed out of Thomas' office inside the palace.
Baron gave Ericson a dead glare before walking up to Thomas."If you ever lay your hands on the Luna again, you will understand why Lycans are feared and respected." With that Baron went out of Thomas' office following Avyanna.
Ericson wept. He still knelt down and held his face down, even while he cried. The secret he had kept for years had been exposed.
Before he met Avyanna, he had been working side by side with some people who disguised themselves as rogues. They influenced him and fed him with promises which he later found out to be a lie. After he met Avyanna, he wasn't sure if he wanted to work for them again. He had found the love of his life that would change his life and he kept it a secret. Unfortunately for him, they had found out he was hiding something.
Ericson had to deny his love for Avyanna to save his life. When he wanted to walk out of their group, they told him he had to kill Avyanna's parents so he could join his pack with hers to become stronger so in case they needed to ask him for a favour in the future. He had strongly kicked against it but at last, he had no choice but to obey the Master.
When he had killed Avyanna's parents, he regretted his decision and he would always train every day to forget about it. He had nightmares concerning it because he was so in love with the innocent Luna. He decided to keep it to himself_ letting sleeping dogs lie.
Thomas who was his accomplice kept threatening him when he found out that Ericson had taken the woman he always had eyes for. Eric pleaded with him to hide the truth from Avyanna.
Thomas had only agreed to that when he was given a certain amount yearly by Ericson. Ericson had accepted that but as years passed, his pack was running at a loss and he couldn't do it anymore. He had planned to tell Avyanna the truth after she was done working in the Lycan territory but Thomas went ahead of him and he was going to bear the consequences of his past actions. He didn't know what Avyanna would do, but he was sure that it wouldn't be good at all.
"Thomas why?" Ericson asked in a weak state. It was like his world was crumbling. He was indeed facing his nemesis.
"You refused to pay me." Thomas said with mock concern. He then placed his claws on the kneeling Ericson and said, "Nobody owes me. Nobody!"
"But my kingdom was running at a fucking loss!" Ericson shouted as his eyes turned into a peircing yellow.
"Shouting will not solve anything, what has been done has been done." Thomas replied with a nonchalant attitude as he walked slowly away from Eric.
"Why do you hate me so much?" Ericson asked when he realized that Thomas' decision to tell Avyanna on him was actually personal.
"You took what was mine." He replied after a moment while he backed Ericson, his arms crossed behind his back like he was meditating on something else.
"She was in love with me! She chose me over you! How is that supposed to be my fault?" Ericson growled.
"Master was always giving you recognition and I hated it so much because I wanted to be noticed." Thomas turned to face Ericson who was no longer on his knees again but almost changing into Roy.
"Now I have lost my wife, she will never look at me in the eyes again." Ericson roared, his claws and teeth slowly sharpening as he almost animated into Roy.
"There will be no need for that, we both know that I will take you down in a heartbeat." Thomas wasn't the least bit phased by Ericson's transformation, "Follow me, we have a lot to discuss. Perhaps over a bottle of wine or Wolf's glory."
