CHAPTER 96

CHAPTER NINETY SIX
Baron fell backwards hitting his left hand on Katie. He bled profusely and Katie was still.
Avy was not sure how Baron laid on the floor with blood all over his body, she raised her head only to see Gina and her sister ran down to Theseus with anger.
“How dare you!” The sisters raged as they approached Theseus.
Nathan removed Jonathan’s weak body from the battle field and returned, only to see Theseus order his minion to take Rania and Gina away.
Katie slowly turned back to Avyanna. The clothes she wore was nothing but rags but it was enough to cover her nakedness. Avyanna stared at Baron who had an arrow in his right arm, unable to do anything for ut was such a shocking sight.
In the heat of the battle, Nancy looked at Avyanna standing frozen, unable to move.
Nancy rushed up to Avyanna to motivate her. She told her that they had not won the battle yet, and the more she did not fight, the more that would lose their creatures and reduce in number, therefore making Theseus and his minions more powerful.
“Avyanna you need to fight! Come on, get Baron out of the field and help us, we need you, and Baron needs you more, you can do this for us, you can do this for me!” Nancy could not hold the conversation for long, because Abel came with more minions to attack.
Nancy withdrew from Avyanna for a moment and continued her fight with Abel.
‘I’m gonna kill this bastard.” She had to kill him for it was most of what wrecked her mind.
Nancy’s words did not really do much to help Avyanna regain her strength and cordination. Matter of fact, the longer Avyanna stood, the further she drifted away.
Avyanna was not herself anymore, she drifted away from reality until she saw herself in a totally different environment.
She saw herself drown deep into a void that seemed like the depths of an ocean. As she drifted deeper into the ocean, she saw a blinding light and the light that she saw next came with a reflection of the moon goddess.
The moon goddess stood with a lot of other wolves. She saw her parents there, but they only smiled at her, none of the wolves said a word apart from the moon goddess.
“This is your purpose.” The voice that spoke was soothing yet powerful. “Call on the strength that I have given you.”
“But… I don’t know… Is this the one that makes me able to …?”
“Shhh. Search yourself Avyanna. Call on nature and command the mind of anyone you want to. This is your gift. This is not a thing of physical transformation, but it is a spiritual change that will affect the physical. Tap into your life-force.” The moon goddess voice was precise and piercing as she smiled at Avyanna.
Immediately, Avyanna was touched by the blinding light that spoke and she whooshed back to reality.
She gasped for breath, now able to see what she had not seen.
The battle moved in slow motion to Avyanna. Then she knelt to Baron and imagined that his wounds were healed, and when she opened her eyes she saw that it happened. Baron’s body had no trace of injury, except the blood stain that could reveal that he was shot.
Avyanna moved away from Baron, who was hale, hearty and ready to fight, and returned her gaze to the war, she looked at the creatures, she looked at Theseus.
“Thank you moon goddess. Let’s end this now.” Thanks to the moon goddess, Avyanna could end the war immediately.
Using her new-found powers, Avyanna connected her mind with that of every opponet that still lived.
“Listen up! You will retreat immediately no matter the command that was given to you. You are not allowed to be on this side of the world.” Avy’s voice resonated in the minds of every creature that was not on her side and it compelled them.
Suddeny, the opponents stopped fighting and started walking away from the battlefield like zombies under a spell.
Avyanna’s voice had an effect on the dark creatures but not all of them so she was about to give it a try for the second time. When she observed that Abel who held Nancy firmly with a blade to her throat, had removed his hands from her, he turned and looked at Theseus, Abel gave a bow to Theseus then vanished.
Day’Nja did the same and left, the few of the minions that lived followed suite.
Theseus could not understand what had just happened, he wondered why his minions had all left the battle field. They had left him alone, to face the creatures. He called on his minions to come back, but for some reason, that he knew nothing of, they did not respond.
“Do you think I need cowards to defeat you? I can end the whole world by myself.”
“Your powers are useless.” Avyanna said calmly, tapping into her lifeforce.
Her eyes shone white and the right half of her body turned into Katie while the other half was her. She then connected her mind with Mother Nature.
“That is mine!” Theseus yelled.
“Only in your dreams.” Avyanna levitated in her form.
Her people watched in awe at the manifestation of Avyanna’s power. They all stood behind her to witness the downfall of Theseus.
“Bring it on then. I am still powerful.” Theseus thundered as he whooshed to Avyanna.
“This is how you die.” Avyanna stretched forth her hand, summoning a mountain of rocks to rise above her.
Avyanna imagined Theseus being grounded to dust by the rocks. The earth vibrated, and they sky opened, rained rocks on Theseus.
“No!” His voice caused a thunder. “This can’t be happening.” Theseus said.
“Underneath all that magic. You are still a scared boy who don’t know right from wrong.” Avyanna said.
“You are wrong.” Theseus bled.
“I am. And now your tyranny ends.” Avyanna intensified the volume of the crushing rocks.
“Wait a minute!” Theseus yelled. “You are not fighting fair. Stop the rocks and …” Theseus spoke but Avyanna paid him no attention.
When he saw that his manipulation tricks did not work, he rained curses on Avyanna and her people, then last word remained; “I shall return”.
Avyanna made sure she smoothened his bones till they looked like dust itself. She requested for Jonathan and healed his wounds. The packs could not tell what had happened either but this was victory.
Theseus was dead finally.
Daniella woke up from an injury-induced sleep to see Avyanna. Daniella was wounded badly. Avyanna asked to help her heal the wounds but Daniella refused, she said she would keep it.
“It will be a thing of honor for me to remember that I was a part of the great fight.” Daniella reminded Avyanna of the drink she promised earlier. “It is time for Us to merry.”
Avyanna agreed with Daniella. She was also excited that Theseus Brute was dead. She was happy that she did it with the people that cared about her and her kingdom.
Nancy thanked Avyanna. She told Avyanna that she had shown her what her life was meant to be. Avyanna, in turn, was happy that Nancy had gotten the revenge she desired. Avyanna appreciated the fact that Nancy was not the old Nancy. The old Nancy died the day Thomas died.
Rania and Gina met Baron. They told him it was the best time to tell Avyanna how much she meant not just to him but to the Kingdom and his people.
Baron walked down to Avyanna and kissed her.
“You are the real deal Ayanna. Leader of Kingdom Wales. Thank you for saving me.” Baron said. He got the attention of all the creatures that jubilated. “I love you and will always love you, not because you have given us victory, but because you complete me, my soul pants for you all day, I love your innocence, your curiosity, your determination and your love for me, I told you before that I would rather die than spend a minute without you and my words remain the same.”
Avyanna held Baron’s hands. She whispered something in his ears and it made him smile. The entire pack could not tell what she said to him.
Jonathan led the packs back to the kingdom. They all had peace, after a long perilous time. It seemed the creatures forgot what peace was like, but well thanks to Avyanna or should we say the moon goddess, victory was theirs.
