CHAPTER 18

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
"Do you know you scared the shit out of me!" Avyanna yelled in a hushed tone. She was overwhelmed with annoyance at the manner in which Ericson grabbed her arm roughly, seconds after she had a good dance with Baron.
"What has gotten over you Avyanna?" Ericson didn't think his wife would go that far to dance with the Lycan Alpha. He was taken over by jealousy and anger, all he cared about was an apology from his wife to heal his wounded masculinity.
But, Avyanna didn't give him that, she couldn't; not after the humiliation he had put her through, "I should be asking you what is wrong with you! Because I don't seem to understand you right now. My night was just going perfect and you want to ruin it."
"Ruin it? Avyanna, everyone was watching you! They saw my wife dance with the Lycan Alpha." Ericson got angrier by the second.
Avyanna had enough. She couldn't comprehend Ericson's new logic which implied that he wanted to have her all to himself but she couldn't have him all to herself. The line of thoughts that engulfed Avyanna's mind, intensified her anger.
"What the fuck is wrong with everyone watching me dance with the Lycan Alpha! Am I also restricted from dancing? You bloody danced with your mate minutes ago and you fault me for dancing with someone else? Didn't I see you dancing with your mate some minutes ago?" Avyanna spat.
"Avyanna my case is different and my mate has a name." The volume of Ericson's voice reduced when that of Ayanna grew. He tried to defend his actiions and that aggravated Avyanna the more.
"Oh! Look at the way you are defending your distasteful action. How the hell is your case any different from mine!" Avyanna was almost loud enough to attract the attention of people closeby, "You gave me a date for tonight and you made him leave me, what more do you want from me?"
"Avyanna I expect you to be the only person that will understand me in these confusing, turbulent times."
"Oh please! Enough of your excuses. I am so tired of listening to them. While you were spending your precious time dancing with that Omega, I was making enquries, gaining new contacts and socializing with different pack alphas, such relationship will benefit our pack in the nearby future."
Ericson thought about her action and he didn't have anything to say to discredit her. He stared at her, unable to utter anything in reply to her claim.
Fiona continued, "The Lycan Alpha was pleased with my intelligence and innovativeness so he asked me to dance with him. Please tell me why on earth I would say no to a cute guy like that?" Avyanna wanted Eric to feel the hurt she felt in her past life, when she watched him dance with Nancy, and the people cheered.
"Avyanna, do you ever think about how I feel?" He asked, his eyes gradually getting wet with emotions.
"What is this? Emotional blackmail? Wlhatever you're trying to do won't work, I still have a lot of things to do tonight so I better hurry up, so please I would like to be excused."
Ericson stared into Avyanna's eyes. He really missed her companionship and friendship. Avyanna was the kind of lady every man felt honoured to have. She had everything; nice curves, facial beauty, natural intelligence, charisma, self discipline and to mention but a few. She couldn't be dealt with easily and that is what attracted Ericson to her.
Avyanna acted as his sister and best friend even when they got married. She was there to support him, care for him and pay attention to him but one thing he could not get from her was total submission to his will. Avyanna was brought up and trained to be independent and she was best in doing that. Ericson fell in love with her and swore to never leave her side. They joined their pack with the mindset of staying with each other forever.
When Ericson had seen Nancy in the woods, he wanted to reject her at that instant, then go tell his wife but it. But when he saw how homeless and hopeless the Omega was, he just couldn't leave her there. The more he saw her when he fed her everyday, the stronger the bond grew. He figured he could have two women in his life that were special to him; he wanted Avyanna to be his one and only wife, and wanted his mate to be present to please his wolf but his plans were not coming to fruition, because Avyanna didn't want that.
Nancy was quite different from Avyanna. She was submissive and obedient, Ericson didn't have to go through the stress of putting her in check while taking care of her. She obeyed his orders and did whatever she was told and that is what Ericson wanted. He couldn't control Avyanna the way he could with Nancy. Ericson has always wanted to be in charge but Avyanna was a natural leader and she could survive with or without Ericson.
"You cannot go anywhere. You've had enough conversations for the night, I should ask one of the men to take you back to Wales." Ericson said.
"Eric, let go of my hand." Avyanna warned.
"It is an order Avyanna!" He put his foot down, he had had enough with her bossy attitude.
"Who are you to tell me what to do?" Avyanna did not realize that her voice was louder, people began eavesdropping on her conversation with Ericson while others bodly looked the argument between her and her husband happen.
"I am your husband Avy and I demand that you give me that respect!"
Avyanna was not ready to create another scene and she had so much to worry about but she had to speak to her uncle before leaving Charleston. "Eric I do not want us to fight in public, just let me be."
"Alpha Ericson you're really angry and it's also affecting my wolf. Please I don't want you to fight again, everything is my fault." Nancy emerged from the shadows and fell on her knees, begging Ericson.
"I was wondering where the drama queen was all along." Avyanna mumbled silently to herself.
Ericson came to his senses, he had left the Omega alone when he saw his wife and she had no one to relate with because it wasn't her type of gathering. He was meant to stay with her and make her comfortable."Nancy please stand, you have not done anything wrong." Ericson aided Nancy to get on her feet. The Omega used that opportunity to place her head on Eric's shoulders and hold him tight.
"You see, this is the more reason I had to do some of your duties tonight, so at least you can spend more time with your mate. You know your wolf needs it to survive."
Avyanna's witty remark at Nancy's attitude caused a silent uproar of supressed chuckles from the crowd. They shielded their lips with their palms and laughed silently, because they feared what the Alpha might do to them if he caught them laughing at him.
"Avyanna you should go home right now, you are not in a good mood for a decent conversation right now."
"Well I don't think I should go. You're with your mate, I should continue doing my work for the sake of the pack."
"I said no!"
Just as Avyanna was about to lash out at Ericson, Vanessa and Will rushed into the argument immediately and said, "Please Avyanna listen to your husband."
"What the heck is going on here? Who is trying to ruin tonight for me?" Alpha Luke growled as he made his way from the crowd in the hall towards where Avyanna and Ericson stood.
"Uncle, I was just in the middle of an irrelevant conversation with my husband." Avyanna blurted out.
"Avyanna you should not disrespect your husband." Luke said convincingly.
He smiled and moved towards Avyanna to calm her anger down, but Avyanna moved away and raised her hands in mock surrender and said, "Fine, I am going home." She walked out on her Uncle and husband. She had so many things to ponder on and the things Ericson said to her wasn't part of it.
Avy knew that the dancing act she pulled with the Lycan King was extreme but she didn't care. Ericson deserved it.
"Jonathan!" She called the static Zeta that had been listening to the argument since it started, "Take me home."
