CHAPTER 33

CHAPTER THIRTY THREE
"What's going on? Did anything happen while I was away?" Judging the worried look on Steve's face, Baron was concerned that something befell his kingdom in the time he was away and it needed his attention.
"I just found out that the rogues attacked our neighbouring territory, I mean the Frozen Prowlers of which we are allies with." Steve said in a low tone and a downcasted face.
"Why would they attack the frozen prowlers?" Baron was confused because he knew that the frozen prowlers weren't people that wanted trouble and this was the first time they were being attacked by the rogues. In the midst of his confusion, he grew angrier the more he thought about it.
The frozen prowlers was discovered in the outskirts of the Dark Cacao Kingdom by the Lycan Alpha during one of his hunting expeditions. They had begged him to give them a place to live permanently, in return they would join him in fighting his wars. Baron was well aware of their unique abilities which included; commanding angered spirits to attack their opponents during wars, they had a thunderous roar that could destroy and when they attacked werewolves or Lycans with their front paws, it would reduce their healing process. They were never accepted by the werewolves because they saw them as a curse from the Moon Goddess. But Baron had other intentions when he saw them, so he gave them a place to live and they signed a blood agreement to be loyal to him until death.
"As I went to investigate the situation, Aurthur Frederick the head of the pack told me that the rogues sneaked in at night and stole their food stuffs and valuable items and they left a message for them." Steve explained.
"What did the message say?" Baron's anger rose, he swiped the letter from Steve almost immediately and read it.
Steve echoed the words boldly written on the letter, "THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING."
"I still don't understand why they would attack the frozen prowlers." Baron handed the letter back to Steve.
Collecting the letter, Steve said, "Aurthur also informed me that they are trying to get to the Lycans because rumors have spread about your alliance with the Luna of Wales."
"How does that affect them?" He thought, confused and genuinely searching for an answer.
"I think it's because they do not have a liking for her." Steve knew that it was a special day for the Lycan Alpha but he was sorry he had to ruin it with information about the rogues. Steve knew that something had to be done about the situation, no matter how special the day was to Baron.
"This is nothing to worry about, besides the rogues are no match for us." Baron cooled off. He knew that he alone could end all the rogues if he wanted to, so he decided to focus on making his mate feel at home, rather than cause a scene and begin preparation for a battle that wasn't worth it.
"So what do you suggest we do concerning the situation?" Steve asked.
"Send some food stuffs and gifts to the frozen prowlers and tell them to lay low and instruct them not do anything about the situation." Baron turned away from Steve and began walking slowly towards Avyanna, who was meters away with Gina and Rania.
"What if the rogues attack them again?" Steve asked, making Baron pause walking.
"We will cross that bridge when we get there, besides I don't think the frozen prowlers need our help to defeat the rogues." Baron smirked, sure of the strength of his allies. If the rogues had not attacked like cowards at night, that would have been the end of them.
"You have a point but we are still unaware of who is behind all these attacks." Steve made a point. A threat was looming and they had to get to the bottom of it.
"We will get to the root of it soon." Baron was trying to end the conversation. He wasn't interested in doing anything that would require him to work or do the extra leadership duties that day. Steve noticed it and quickly ended the conversation.
"Now your mate is here, what are we going to do to entertain her?" Steve whispered.
"Actually I didn't think of that." Baron paused again and stroked his slightly bearded chin with his thumb and index finger.
"I should talk to Gina and Rania about it." Steve suggested.
"Whatever you have in mind, please let it not make Avyanna uncomfortable because I want her to enjoy her stay here." Baron was serious. He finally had his mate in the same vicinity he was in and he wasn't going to ruin that, neither did he want anyone else to ruin it.
"Awnnnn... to be honest pal, romance isn't your thing." Steve placed his hands mockingly on Baron's chest before he scurried away.

"Tadaaa.." Rania opened the door to the room that was allocated for Avyanna during her stay in the Lycan territory.
It was a large room that was already decorated to fit Avyanna's preferences. It looked almost exactly like her office did, but in the form of a bedroom. The bed was at the center of the room and a mirror hung on the wall that faced the foot of the bed. Bouquet of flowers adorned the five corners of the spacious room. A grandfather clock was at the right hand of the bed. There were two doors in the room; one led outside and the other led to the spacious bathroom that had a jacuzzi and a shower. A fun fact about this room is that it was directly beside Baron's own.
"My brother must really fancy you for allowing you to stay in this room." Gina said as she dropped Avyanna's belongings on the tiled floor.
"Really?" Avyanna feigned innocence. What Baron had told her earlier was still disturbing her as she could not fathom the reason why he would have a liking for her. "They were so many pretty ladies in his territory but yet he wanted a werewolf." Avyanna thought to herself.
"Of course. Baron was mother's favorite child and she would usually come to this room to sing and tell him stories every night and when my parents had passed away, this room kept bringing back memories and Baron would always come here to mourn our parents. This room is special to him." Gina explained.
"I'm really sorry about your parents." Avyanna said.
"It's not a problem, besides we are happy seeing you stay here because Baron never allowed anyone to step his or her foot in this room for any purpose, even us, as his blood sisters." Rania blabbed on.
"Rania! Must you say everything?" Gina scoffed.
"Brother likes her, so I can tell her anything because she is now my new friend." Rania hid behind Avyanna's back as she spoke.
"It's okay Gina, she is just a kid. There is no need to be harsh on her." Avyanna intervened.
"I tell you, I'm already tired of taking care of her." Gina let out a sigh of exhaustion.
Avyanna noticed that Rania was entirely different from her sister Gina. While Gina was careful and independent, Rania was free-spirited.
"I understand that this room is confidential to the Lycan Alpha, don't you think it would hurt his feelings or bring back past memories if I stay here?" Avyanna asked.
"No...no... It's entirely cool besides Baron ensured that this room was well furnished and preserved for you." Rania said.
"I really appreciate the kind gestures your family have shown to me and I feel honoured to be among the Lycans."
"It's a pleasure Avyanna and don't forget that we are friends, and good friends always show up for each other." Gina smiled.
"I'm sure the Luna is bored by your long talks." Rania rolled her eyes at Gina. "The Luna trekked all the way here and she needs rest and not some boring lecture."
"You must be tired Avyanna, I'm sorry, but what really happened on your way here?" Gina asked Avyanna ignoring her sister's comment.
"It was just a minor accident." Avyanna replied, not wanting to tell the full story. How could she tell them that she was in an accident because their brother was distracted by her beauty.
"You should shower and rest then." Gina suggested.
"I'm not really tired as everyone is claiming I should be." Avyanna sat in a cordinated manner on the bed.
"Then how do you feel?" Rania asked.
"Just restless and I need to take my mind off a few things." She yawned subtly, and smiled.
"Then I think this is the best place for you to have that vacation." Gina said gleefully.
"Yayy, so are we going to have ladies night soon?" Rania yelped in excitement.
"Aren't you too young to be talking about such things?" Avyanna asked with a soft giggle.
"I tell you, she acts bigger than her age sometimes." Gina concluded.
"Y'all are just misinterpreting me. I just thought we could have a welcoming party for the Luna." Rania spoke up for herself in reserved embarrassment. She bowed her head as if she were about to cry because she didn't like the way Avy and Gina spoke to her. It made her feel like a child and she hated the feeling.
"Alright my little princess, I will accept any welcoming party just for you." Avyanna got up from the bed and gave the little girl a tender hug.
"Promise?" Rania asked with innocent eyes.
"I promise." Avyanna smiled as she pecked Rania on the forehead. She didn't know what it to felt like to have a younger sibling and she wished at that moment that she had one as Rania.
"Then I should better go and start the planning then. Gina, will you help me?" Rania's upbeat mood was suddenly returned.
"Not at all, I don't think so." Gina protested.
"Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that uncle Steve would and most of the maids will help with the decorations." Rania smiled as she cat-walked out of the room.
"You see the hell I have been going through?" Gina exclaimed jokingly as Rania left the room.
"She is smart and I like her." Avyanna relaxed herself amd smiled as she looked at Rania walking away.
"Anyways, that aside, would you want to eat anything before you rest? You should be hungry from the long journey." Gina asked in concern.
"Naaaa, I'm perfectly fine."
"Okay do you like the arrangements in the room? Or do you need me to change anything for you?"
"It's okay and I love everything here." Avyanna smiled and patted the bed.
"Alright then, I'm sure you need your private time then, I'll let you be but if you need anything before you sleep just let me know."
"Gina I don't think I want to sleep this early."
"What do you want to do?" Gina asked.
"Show me around the Lycan territory." Avyanna smirked. She couldn't wait to explore the nooks and crannies of the territory that she once dreaded.
