CHAPTER 92
CHAPTER NINETY TWO
Avyanna walked wearily into her room with Baron following behind her.
"My Luna! We were worried." Johnathan was happy, then baffled to see Nancy walking comfortably behind Baron.
Judging the look on Avyanna's face, Jonathan discerned that a lot had happened. He ceased all questions and decided to help his Luna settle in. If there was any other thing he needed to know, he would still get to know about it.
Later on, Johnathan went to inform Nathan, Will, and Vincent that their leader had arrived but he could sense an unhappy atmosphere.
"Do you know why?" Will asked in agitation.
"No. I am not ready to ask until she requests to meet with me."
Sitting in a corner quietly was Nancy. She looked very calm. Who wouldn't? It had been a hectic and strange day for her. To add to her misery; she missed Thomas.
Nancy’s heart pounded faster. She had lost Ericson before he could see her for who she really was. He probably wouldn’t have loved her because she lured him with her siren abilities, but Thomas did. Thomas had started the long-awaited fight so she would have to trust in herself for war was to come. Thomas saw her for what she really was and still stood by her, but she lost him to the same demonic being that ended her parents.
In Avyanna’s room, Baron sat close to his love. He was wounded but he cared less for himself. He wanted Avyanna to be fine because he had loved her more than he could explain. He could not let anything happen to her.
The mere thought of Avyanna passing away got him scared but he was determined that he was not going to let her out of his sight ever again. He would guard her with his life. He would protect and defend her, and he would love her more than he loved his life.
He held her hands and wiped them with water. He looked at her as she applied balm to the areas she was hurt. When she was done, he looked at her and told her how much he loved her.
“I will not be able to deal with life if I lose you to death. I can’t stand anything bad happening to you.” Baron spoke softly.
“You won’t lose me.” Avy said in a strained voice, holding Baron’s now hairy chin. The time he spent in uncertainty was enough to make his day-old spiky beards turn to fur.
“I know Avy.” He snuggled his face on her palm. “I cannot explain how much it hurt me to see you locked in that cage, I felt useless and little.”
“Baron you are not useless to me. Who knows if I would have been a dead meat if you came a minute later.”
“Please do not speak of death we have a generation to create together.”
“We will create them in time to come.” Avyanna gave a weak smile.
Baron continued to talk about the past event. He told her to listen to him whenever he told her about something or somebody. He reminded Avyanna how he told her that Theseus was a foe and how he had begged her to stay away from him. Baron reminded her on how he sensed the dark energy from Theseus.
After the conversation, he pleaded with Avyanna to listen to him even if they were mad at each other. He told her how he would never hurt her and how important and valuable she was to him.
Avyanna was not sure she had seen him talk so passionate about their love before. She apologized for her misconduct and said she felt bad for everything that had happen. Then, she promised him that it would be the last time she would not listen to his words.
Avyanna told him that she loved how he loved her and she told him how she could not stop thinking about him and how she wished that all that never happened.
She explained that she never believed that Theseus was a wicked creature. She told Baron how encouraging Theseus was and how he gave her ideas about life. Avy also told Baron how Theseus never commented wrongly about anything she asked or said.
Avyanna told Baron that she was not sure if they could trust Nancy despite the fact that she helped them escaped.
She thought that it could have been another attempt to manipulate her into being friends with Nancy. Avyanna was not sure if Nancy was still manipulated by her boss, Theseus.
Avyanna told him that she was not ready to fight another unexpected war. Baron drew her close and hugged her, telling her that Nancy’s desire currently was to see Theseus dead and moved into extinction. He told her that might be very unassuming but Nancy knew when to be smart.
Baron carried Avyanna to the window and he pointed at Nancy. Nancy was sitting underneath a tree all by herself. Baron then told Avyanna that she had nothing to be worried about because the Nancy he knew would never show her weakness in public no matter the circumstances.
He told her that all Nancy wanted was revenge and she wanted her freedom too. Avyanna could see that all Baron said was true; Nancy would never put her weakness in display.
Avy recounted when Nancy first came to the pack, and how irritating it was to have her around. Now she watched her sit hopelessly under a tree in her kingdom.
Baron and Avyanna decided they would have to inform their packs what had happened with Theseus so Avyanna requested for Jonathan and the remaining three which was Vincent, Will, and Nathan.
She told them how the past days had been. She told them that she was the actual cause of all that had happened.
“The deed is done plus this is not the time to regret whatever has happened but it is the time to assimilate and plan what the next action would be.” Will commented.
Avyanna agreed with Will. She requested that it was better if everybody returned to their kingdom, at least to inform their people what had happen and what the next course of action was.
Nancy joined the discussion. She sat quietly and listened to Avyanna.
Avyanna told her not to be bothered about what had happened but rather they should remain optimistic and figure out a plan on how to defeat Theseus since she was the closet thing they had to him.
Nancy looked at the face of everybody the faces were not new to her because she had seen them before. She told them that Theseus was a very brutal person and that it was better to have one battle with him than to let him go and return.
“If you want to defeat him, then you’re gonna need more than an army.” Nancy said. She told them that she did not really have anything on his identification because it was one topic he never dwelt on.
Nancy said she could find clues, on how to get them and where to get them.
“No nut is ever too hard to crack.” Jonathan exclaimed.
“We will crack it.” Baron replied.
Avyanna told all of them to leave and return to their kingdom. she told them that they did not know what to expect from Theseus so it was better they all went and informed their people what had happened.
“This not the period to trust anyone, especially those we are not familiar with.” Jonathan said as he rolled the scroll on the table.
“If you ask me we ought to be careful with even familiar ones.” Nancy included she further explained that they should watch and listen completely before they shared or told anybody anything.
Baron liked the idea and encouraged that they go and returned back so they could start with their plot.
Nancy left the Kingdom Wales and so did Baron.
***
Rania and Gina were very pleased to see their brother alive.
He wasted no time to exchange pleasantries. Baron called on his sisters and two other men from the pack to tell them of what had happened.
“This time we need to be smarter than the devil because one silly mistake wold mean the end of our lives. Our eyes, ears, and souls should remain sensitive. This is not the time to welcome anyone new into the pack. We must be observant.” Baron cautioned. He knew his sisters were smart and they were all trained by their wolf parents so they had the same ethics and disciplines he had.
“When are you leaving?” Gina questioned.
“I return to kingdom Wales tomorrow so I would help the other creatures.” Baron beckoned on them to remain silent about whatever he had told them. “You should not trust any creature not yet, not until the battle was won but until Theseus Brute was dead.”
***
Nancy and Baron arrived the next day to Avyanna’s kingdom.
Avyanna told Jonathan to excuse them that when she needed him she would call on him.
Avyanna asked Nancy what she knew about the dark master and what could he do, where she felt he had gone to, and who he was. Nancy only had petty ideas on every question Avyanna asked but she was going to share what she knew.
“Firstly. The dark master would never dwell on any conversation that would link to his origin but he would always tell us of the era between humans and creatures how unfair human were. Secondly, he had some sort of connection with the Rome era I do not know what happened that period but I am sure something happened. Thirdly, if Theseus was to prepare for this battle a second time he would not do so with any creature we have seen or known he would do that probably with his underworld demons or minions.” Nancy rambled, yet spoke with precision.
“Who the hell is this man?” Baron whispered.
“One more thing, Theseus could spare any creature who spelt Theseus wrongly, but not Brute. He had slaughtered four of his cupbearers for that same mistake. The ones who I can’t count are obviously more than the four I remember.” Nancy exhausted everything she knew about Theseus she kept thinking of anything that would link or trace Theseus to his inception.
Avyanna and Baron looked at each other for a while as if the same thought clicked in their mind. Avyanna got a chalk and wrote down a few hints on the board.
“He never liked humans, Roman era, Brute.” Avyanna wrote all down.
Baron told them that he had a friend who could help them with the history of the families who lived with the human’s during the roman era to check if any name such as Brute appeared on it. He also told Avyanna to call on Jonathan to help decipher the links between their hint words. Baron went out while Nancy helped Avyanna and Johnathan make a meaning out of the words. They calculated and rearranged all words then it struck Avyanna to remember Thomas.
“You were saved by Theseus after your parents died right?” She asked Nancy.
“Yes, he came at that point I thought I had lost it all. Then, he rendered help that I could not reject especially since the pack I rolled with kicked me out. Why do you ask?” Nancy questioned Avyanna.
“lt all makes sense now. He came for Thomas when he lost his parents and could not reject the help, same way he came to me knowing my parents had died and if I would be anywhere when I am lonely or sad it would be where I could speak to my parents and at that very point he would render his friendship and I would not reject it.” Avyanna went on.
“This makes a lot of sense.” Baron said.
Avy continued, “Nancy that might be where his entire problem began, children without their families would be easier to manipulate he used his pain to create a system, he used what he had been through to get what he wanted. He probably didn’t want to talk about his family because he did not have them for long. Maybe they died or better still they were killed he knew how desperate one would be in such a situation wanting to see revenge because that was his same course. He knew how it felt to work in those shoes so he observed for the ones who had the abilities he needed and then made them walk in the same shoes as he did. He might have been the passion, the drive, that enabled him to acquire all those dark powers, it is all In revenge he wanted to protect himself rule over everyone so he would protect himself, his name, their legacy. Nancy, Jonathan we need to know who Theseus family because that was where it all began.” Avyanna could not believe how blinded they had been.
Baron returned with the information he acquired about Theseus family. He explained what he knew and Avyanna told him what they had come up with.
“Oh ,it all makes sense now. I discovered that the brute family was a great pack of royal werewolves they ruled the ancient Rome and nobody could challenge them they were extremely brutal to man and creatures alike. But it got to a point that the humans got tired of their brutality and decided to join force with other creatures of the Knight to overthrow them. History had it that none of the Brute werewolves survived it until years later the record had a missing child in the brute family.” Baron explained as he examined the look on Nancy’s face.
“That’s why he would always say that the best gift to give to a child was the instrument of death so when he grows up he would know how to kill without mercy.’’ Nancy commented.
“If you ask me; the humans and the creatures did nothing wrong taking them down. If one of them can create this much of an havoc then imagine how it was dealing with the whole pack” Jonathan retorted.
“We now know who we are dealing with so it’s time we fixed our plans. We know where he would be, who we are expected to fight and how intense the battle would be. This is not just a battle is an uncompleted revolution. Avyanna held the hand of Baron as they walked out the room. Nancy and Jonathan followed suit.
The hatred Nancy had for Theseus grew worse after her discovery, he made her suffer what he suffered because of the sins and wickedness of his parents. Nancy felt irritated and all she said in her mind was that Theseus needed to die.
