CHAPTER 69

CHAPTER SIXTY NINE
Baron understood that it was a serious issue, he ordered Gina to take Rania to her room while he went with Steve to where Tim, a warrior was taking him to.
Baron was still sad about the whole situation, Amanda had her excesses but she could never hurt a fly; She was a creature that cared if she wanted to.
Amanda had lived outside the Lycan territory for as long as Baron could remember and she never had issues with anyone. Baron could still not bare the loss, his soul was still grieved but in between, he was happy that he was a clue away from knowing why Amanda was killed, and who killed her. Amanda’s death was mysterious and Baron, who had ordered Steve to stop at nothing until he knew who killed Amanda, was on his way to unravel the mystery.
Baron remained mute, as he thought of Amanda, he knew she would not involve herself in any wrong activity, his mind wandered, and he wished he had saved her. Amanda was one of the modest reasons, Baron stood tall, she added to his life and left him heartbroken.
As he stormed behind Tim and Steve leading the way to Amanda's killer, he recalled her smile and how she was the beautiful girl he met in the school his parents had forced him to attend when he was a bit younger. He recalled the way she motivated him to become a stronger and better wolf; she was always ready to teach him, she was a good person and they loved each other, but well, love was not enough to keep them together, and that didn’t mean he stopped caring or never cared because true love never fades away.
Amanda was too ambitious, she wanted to live her life without sacrifice, she was not ready to grow with anyone, and she prioritized her speed, her own rules, her self-development, and self-made standards.
Baron did not ever blame Amanda for wanting to live her life, she offered him what she could offer, and it had never left him, not even for a day, he built on it and he became a stronger character.
The Alpha, his Beta Steve, and the warrior Tim, moved past three big gates behind the Lycan territory. It was behind the big gates they kept thieves and prisoners. The closer they got to the dungeon that the suspect was kept in, the angrier Baron and Steve got. Tim opened the gate for Baron and Steve to go through, and he locked the dungeon after Baron and Steve entered.
"Your Highness, this is the suspect we caught concerning Amanda's case." The Lycan warrior said as they reached the dungeon the prisoner was held in.
The Lycan territory was dreaded by all thieves and betrayers across the kingdom because of their wickedness in torture. The walls of the dungeon had metallic in them, the dungeon had no lights, and it was darker than night even in the dawn of day. Baron made sure to always stake in more weapons to torture, bandits referred to the dungeon in Lycan territory as the end of joy and a quick path to death. They believed anyone who walked out of the Lycan dungeon, was forgiven to be killed again, because once you found your way there, then you set your heart aright, for you will be killed.
“Has he said anything yet?” Baron asked Tim as he drew his sleeves to his elbow.
“Nothing yet Your highness, he said he would not speak of it, no matter the price he had to pay for not speaking," Tim responded.
Baron gave a smile then later, a chuckle. “Are you sure, you do not want to tell us why you killed Amanda, or who is behind the death of Amanda?” Baron rolled open a small bag that was already placed on a gigantic table, on it was scissors, knives, a wipe, a baton, a plier, bottles that contained diluted and undiluted acid, electric wires, a blade, guns, and whatever could scare a creature, and make him talk.
In his prime, Baron was a guru at torturing rogues and getting information out of them. There was the time Baron requested a bag full of dead rats, he wore the sack on the head of his prisoner, the other one was a bag filled with live cockroaches, and well the creature eventually spoke, after a rough time.
“I ask you again, why Amanda, what did she commit against you, did she owe you or your boss anything, where you requested to kill her for no purpose, who sent you, who is your boss!” Baron stretched forth to collect the scissor, he tore open the shirt the suspect had on.
"Need some help boss?" Steve requested he helped him, but Baron wanted to do this alone, "No Steve. Watch and learn." Baron ordered his Beta.
He was going to either beat out answers from the suspect or he would make him go through excruciating pain.
“Answer me you fool, I did not come to play a game of scribble and words with you, who sent you to murder Amanda? why did you kill her? if you did not, you better start telling me who did!” Baron went furious at the fact that the creature looked at him, and did not say a word. The suspect was held bound in chains that were locked up in the wall, his two hands were lifted above his head, and he was seated, but both legs were also chained to the metal chair.
“I could take this easy on you,” Baron yelled, he dropped the scissors back on the table, and in exchange for the scissor, he collected the plier and went for the toenail of the suspect. He placed the mouth of the plier on the tip of his toenail, and pulled it out gradually, the suspect screamed in pain, he struggled but Tim and Steve held him down, Baron continued with the toenail until it was out.
“Who killed Amanda, and why!” Baron thundered, the suspect did not say a word, he bled from the toe that had just been removed from its shield.
“I cannot tell you, no matter what you do to me.” the suspect replied then spat out bloodied saliva although his strength failed him.
Baron was frustrated, he had never been so upset and not seen a prisoner succumb, he went for the acid and poured a little on the same place he removed a nail from He continued with the process but the suspect remained steadfast.
“Your highness, should I handle him on your behalf?” Steve asked, he could see that Baron was highly furious with the silence from the suspect.
“Do not bother yourself, Steve, just pass me, my leather gloves, and the wires.” Baron placed the naked wires, that carried high voltage on the chest of the suspect, he removed them and continued.
After a few rounds of pain, the suspect gave a signal for Baron to let him speak.
Baron dropped the wires on the table and removed his gloves, he paid keen attention to what the suspect was about to say. Baron asked that they freed his hands from the chain. But his legs remained locked to the chair.
“I cannot reveal why she died, and I most definitely cannot tell you who sent me, but she is all part of the game that is what I can say.” the suspect panted with a maniacal smile as though he said all he wanted to with the last strength he had.
Baron looked at the suspect, and something told him that the person that must have sent him to kill Amanda, must be powerful as he was, if not the suspect would have told him what he knew, but on this occasion, the suspect preferred death. Baron attached the wire to the chair of torture and continued with his electrocution process, but still, not a word that made sense came forth, from the mouth of the suspect.
Baron asked that they released him from his chair, he held the head of the suspect to the wall that had metals on it, he did it three to four times, but yet the suspect refused to reveal the identity of his master or the pack he belonged to, for it grew more obvious that the suspect was a wolf that was so strong.
“You prefer to die, for a master who does not care for you?" Steve hissed, "You have the chance of staying alive, just tell us what you know, or you would die for a pack that does not adore you!” Steve continued.
“If you ask me to do such a thing, then I must question your loyalty. I'd rather die with my mouth sealed and meet the rest in the greater beyond.” The suspect replied to Steve.
“Your highness, do you want to continue, or I should take it from here?” Tim asked Baron. But while they spoke, the suspect stretched forth his hand for the blade on the waist of Tim and put it through his neck. Baron, Steve, and Tim were surprised to see the young creature fall out of his chair. He bled profusely until he died.
“For him to take his life, then the one before him must be a great lord, either he respects his lord, or he fears his lord, apart from these two, I tell you, nothing will make a creature, as selfish as we can be, take his life for this course.” Baron wiped his hand from the blood stain he and the suspect had before he died. He told Steve to take of the body, while Tim cleaned up the instruments and the dungeon.
Just as Steve flipped the dead body, he saw something that caught his attention, "Alpha Baron, you need to check this out."
"What is it?" Baron asked, peering at the dead body with a slit throat and blood merely sprinkling out.
"This was an Alpha wolf." Steve said, pointing at the fur on his skin and the scars on his skin, the veins in his body, and the strange tattoo. Everything of the dead tortured soul was proof that he was an Alpha.
"What? of what pack?" Baron was even more confused.
The confusion grew, and in that moment, Baron knew that a larger game was afoot. He then tried to decipher who the dead Alpha was, but nothing and no one came to mind.
"I will find out!" Steve said as he kept on wrapping the body.
Baron walked out of the dungeon. He stared into the sky and wondered, who would have killed Amanda and for what reason, he remembered the suspect saying that she was all a part of the game. What game did he mean? Baron questioned everything until he got to his chambers and locked the door, it did not turn out to be easy and successful as he had thought it would be.
Even the clue he had was equivalent to nothing.
