CHAPTER 49
CHAPTER FOURTY NINE
"Did you bring a ride with you?" Avyanna asked Baron as she stood outside the Ash Band territory. Her eyes were still sore from the tears she shedded in the palace. The evidence that she was crying was all over her face.
"No I didn't. We thought you were in danger, so we didn't want to raise an alarm, we had to walk the paths and scour the woods tracking your scent." Baron responded, being careful as to not mention Eric's name to Avyanna.
"Thank you for coming for me." Avyanna said avoiding his gaze and increasing her pace.
"Hey look, I know it's all my fault and I'm sorry for the hurtful words I said to you Avyanna. I didn't mean them honestly, I was just drunk and sober about Amanda's death." Baron paused to breathe in and assess Avyanna's countenance, checking if she was interested in what he had to say or not. When he did, he continued, "Amanda was the first lady that I fell in love with but she broke my heart. True love doesn't fade, you know, so I had to protect her even though I didn't want her by my side anymore. I am sorry for acting the way I did. It's just that she was murdered in cold blood and I didn't know why someone would do that but I just transferred the whole agression on you, please forgive me." Baron was blabbing and he didn't even realize it. He poured out how he was feeling for the first time in a long time.
"I understand you because I know what it means to lose someone you love. There is no need for you to apologize, besides it doesn't matter anymore." Avyanna really understood. A very little part of her felt relieved that Baron was opening up to her and telling her what she needed to hear but her heart now weighed heavier than her petty problem with Baron. The only thing on her mind was her parents and how they died.
Baron noticed the look on Avyanna's face so he grabbed her hands, pulled her closer to himself gently, and consoled. "I know you're hurt about everything and you don't want to talk about it, but just know that you have me and you can talk to me if you feel alone." Baron assured her, almost stroking her hair.
Avyanna pushed his arms away, and shrugged away from him. She ran away from him. She didn't know where her feet carried her but she kept on running. She felt so much pain, so many things she wanted to let go of. She was tired of everything, so she just kept on running as tears kept rolling off her eyes.
Baron allowed her to run. He didn't attempt to restrain her or call her back. He knew she wanted to be alone so he just walked slowly following her scent which led back to the Lycan territory. "At least she wasn't running away again." Baron thought to himself.
Avyanna kept running until she arrived at the Lycan territory, walking straight to her room. She fell to the floor weeping profusely, letting go of the pain she felt as sweat trickled down her skin.
Memories of her parents flooded her mind. She recalled the ever loving kindness that her parents showed to her and she wept some more.
It was years ago, Avyanna was still a toddler, and her parents were very much alive. Avyanna had just returned from school with a couple of injuries.
"Avyanna darling, why are you covered in your own blood?" Her mother asked in concern. She pulled Avyanna closer and tended to her injuries.
"I fell to the ground and hurt my knee Mum." Avyanna murmured like a baby.
"Oh yeah, I didn't know the floor also had hands to punch your face. Who did this to you?" Apart from being caring, Mrs Windsor was very observant, she noticed the slightest changes in Avyanna's daily living, and even in her appearance.
"It's the Coulier Kid mum. I don't know why she picked on me. No one else picks on me or bullies me." Avyanna wept in her mother's arms and she consoled her.
"Don't cry my love. Today will be the last day that ever happens to you." Her mother promised and that was the last day it ever happened. The next day at school the Coulier bully walked up to Avyanna and apologized, as well as even swearing her loyalty to Avyanna. Avyanna beamed secretly, knowing that her mother was behind it all. Her mother was very protective and most times acted like a big sister and best friend to Avyanna.
Avyanna recalled the family moments that she spent at dinner with her parents, especially on her seventh birthday party when they threw a surprise party for her.
It was a windy afternoon in Wales. Avyanna was returning from school like she normally would. She walked into her house that was vwry lifeless, there was not a soul in the house. Not even her parents, "Mom, Dad?" She called out but there was no response.
She proceeded to the backyard of her house and just as she walked through the backdoor, she heard screams of: "Surprise!"
Her parents had changed the backyard into a 20th century-themed park, invited all her friends from school and almost everyone in Wales to celebrate their daughter. Avyanna recalled the feeling of importance and worth that engulfed her senses. Her parents made her deal so loved and on top of the world and no one she later topped that feeling, not even Baron, especially not Ericson, the man who ended their lives.
She then recalled the day that they died and how they showed love even when they were in danger. She recalled crying over their dead bodies and she yelled, "Ericson why would you do such a thing to me?" Avyanna cried hitting her hands on the floor.
Avyanna felt a sharp prickly pain in her heart as she wept and regretted every moment ahe spent with Ericson. She now understood why Ericson acted so caring after their death, it wasn't because he totally cared for her, but because he felt guilty for what he had done.
The clearer it got to Avyanna, the more her heart bled.
Gina had heard Avyanna's muffled cries from a distance so she whooshed into the room without knocking and hugging Avyanna without being permitted to do that. Gina had also heard what transpires from Baron, which made her lurk around Avy's room in the first place.
"I heard what happened, I'm so sorry. Your husband is an ass!" Gina fumed. Avyanna just lay her head on Gina's shoulder and kept on crying on without uttering a word.
Beyond the pain, Avyanna felt a pinch of love from Gina.
She cried until she finally decided to do what she had long wanted to do. "Hey Gina?" Avyanna sniffled.
"Yeah."
"I need to go somewhere. There is something I need to do."
"Can I come with you?"
"There will be no need for that."
"Are you sure? I'm really worried about you going out on your own especially in this condition."
"Don't worry Gina, this is something that needs to be done by me alone."

Baron was pacing left and right in his office. He didn't know what to do. He watched his mate crying so badly and he couldn't do anything to make her feel better.
"Ericson that piece of shit! Baron said to himself. Avyanna had been through so much lately and he had enough of it. He had to do something about it.
Baron picked a dagger, placing it inside his boot. He wore a thick large black leather jacket and black baggy jeans, which was different from what he normally wore. It was almost as if he was trying to blend in with the darkness.
As he came out of his office, he met Steve in the hallway.
"I was just about to come and see you, I heard Avyanna is back. Rania told me." Steve said.
"Yes that's true." Baron couldn't conceal his rage.
"What's the matter? You don't seem happy about it or are you still worried about the Amanda's case?" Steve searched Baron's face for an answer.
"It's not about Amanda, Avyanna's parents were murdered by Ericson her own husband." He growled in a whisper, clenching his fists.
"Oh my goodness!" Steve exclaimed.
"I was as shocked as you are now when I heard it."
"Why would her own husband murder her parents?" Steve stroked his chin, trying to understand Ericson's motives.
"I didn't even get the full story but Avyanna is heartbroken." Baron was heartbroken thinking about it but he didn't show it, all he breathed was resentment for Ericson.
"I can imagine. So where are you going to? I suppose the Luna needs you now." Steve noticed his outfit and raised an eyebrow at Baron, his pupils dilating as he realized Baron's aim.
"There is something I need to do." Baron walked away.
"I hope it isn't what I'm thinking it is." Steve echoed with a worried voice.
"Well it's too late to change my mind..." Baron kept walking furiously out of the pack house, with a vengeful spirit.
