CHAPTER 27
CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN
"What's really going on between us Avyanna?" Ericson asked in defeat. He had given up and all he wanted was a proper conversation with his wife.
"I don't think I have any problem with you Eric, and I would love to be alone so I can rest. You heard the Lycan Alpha before he left, he is giving me three days to rest and I have to make good use of those three days because I know the kind of work that lies ahead of me." Avyanna did not even dash a state at him.
"This is all my fault Avyanna and I am sorry." Ericson said weakly. Apology was never his thing but whenever it came to Avyanna, he couldn't help himself.
"What are you sorry for?" Avyanna was suprised because she didn't expect that from her husband but she knew it was a trick for her to become light-hearted again. She was not going to give in to the softness he displayed, neither was she going to feel the discreet affectionate tears welling in his eyes.
"It's my fault that we are having this misunderstanding and I really want you to give me a chance to make it up to you." He sounded even softer and so remorseful.
It took almost all of her emotional strength to repel his sudden loving nature. She said harshly, "You must be kidding!"
"I don't think I have ever been so serious in my life." He kept at it, a million emotions that displayed remorse on his face.
She decided to give him the benefit of doubt. She figured he at least deserved that considering their history. "So why the change of mind, all of a sudden?" She asked.
"Avyanna, I don't want to lose you, you mean so much to me." Ericson felt more comfortable talking. He moved an inch closer to her but she shrugged away and took away her gaze from him because she detected the same hint of deceit and indecisiveness in his tone.
She recalled the sight she met earlier that morning, when she walked the foot of the stairs, and grew more irritated by his presence, "You know I would probably be deceived by your words if I had not seen you kiss the Omega earlier today."
"Avyanna you have to believe me, I swear I won't let it happen again." He begged like the existence of his wolf depended on her forgiveness.
"Eric, you have made a lot of promises to me since we started being together and I haven't seen you keep a lot of them, and to be honest with you, I don't think I can easily trust you again." She breathed.
"What promises have I not kept?"
"Did you reject your mate? Isn't that the main reason we are having this conversation now?" She stared angrily at him. Her eyes were seemingly bloodshot with disrespect for Ericson.
"Avyanna, I expected you to be the only person to understand me in this situation and know the way I am feeling. I am helpless and I don't know what to do." He maintained his softeness despite her harsh tone towards him.
"Well I am helpless as well and I can't stand you hurting me anymore." Tears almost leaked from her eyes.
"What do you mean by you can't stand me hurting you anymore?" He moved and held her palms to comfort her.
"What I meant is that, I don't think I can bear the pain of everything you have done to me since that Omega came into this house." Avyanna composed herself, she had almost revealed her secret intentions to Ericson but one thing she was perfect at was hiding her emotions as a Luna, just as she was trained.
"Avyanna I really want to fix everything, all I just need is for you to stand by my side and support every decision I take." He stared longingly into her eyes.
"So you will treat me like trash in front of the Omega again. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I cannot support you when you do not regard my feelings." She removed her palms from his but he held it back.
"Avyanna I really care about you, I do." He pleaded.
"So, that's why you chose to embarrass me at the Feast last night in front of all Royalties that were present." She stated, struggling her hand away from his grip.
"All I cared about was your security and nothing more. I was concerned that the Lycan Alpha will hurt you." He defended his actions, even after she was free of his grip.
"By dancing with him?" She asked sharply.
"I am your husband, I couldn't stand there and let that happen either."
"But my husband can dance with an Omega over his wife. Bravo!" She scoffed.
"Avyanna, please tell me what I can do to make it up to you." He regained his softness and feigned cool-headedness.
"It's too late Ericson. There is nothing that you can do." She heaved with her head bowed. Ericson's eyes were soaked with emotions of imminent heart break.
She got up to walk away from him and he used the opportunity to hold her hands and spin her into a warm, loving embrace that annoyed her the more. He thought that the hug would help to assuage her and make her change her mind about her decision; but it did not. As he hugged her tightly, perceiving her scent was inevitable; even though she slightly shrugged away from his embrace. As he hugged her, he discerned that she was evidently associated with someone whom he found unpleasant; Baron.
"You bear a smell similar to that of the Lycan." He said, subtracting himself from the hug. He looked at her with hidden disgust and resentment for the fact that his wife was affiliated with the Lycan.
"Get off me! You reek of the Omega!" She yelled in anger. She had also perceived him but was ready to ignore it, but she got even angrier when he told her of her scent, rubbing it in her face.
"No wait, I didn't mean to annoy you." Ericson begged.
"I think it's really time for you to leave Eric." She sniffled, pointing towards the door.
"Avyanna, don't." He didn't want to leave. He wanted another chance to hug her and he regretted his words.
She couldn't contain the anger inside her anymore so she yelled a tad louder, "Leave my office!"
Ericson bowed his head in regret and walked away from her office, to his room.
Back at the office, Avyanna collapsed on her armchair and heaved a sigh of relief. She closed her eyes to meditate and search within herself for Katie. She needed someone should could rant about her entire day to, someone she trusted. Avyanna required her wolf's company at this moment.
"Hello Katie. Where did you go? Please talk to me, Are you there?"
She got no response, just the silence of the room and the sound of her silent slowed breaths reverberating.
"Please." This time she sobbed, but it wasn't any different. "Where did you go?" She popped opened her sealed eyes and whispered inaudibly, "Where did she go?"
***
Ericson was not happy with Avyanna's actions so gradually, his annoyance resurfaced until he couldn't do much to conceal it. He stormed away from her office and went to his room where he drowned himself in thoughts of anger and pain. He thought of all the events that had led to his wife telling him the things that she had just told him.
Just then, the lock of his door twisted and the door creaked open. Nancy poked her head in through the door and smiled innocently at the fuming Alpha. She had changed from the clothes she wore earlier that morning into something skimpier.
The dress she wore exposed her cleavage and thighs effortlessly. The softness of her body jiggled seductively as she walked slowly towards him.
Immediately, Ericson said in the same spirit of anger, "I do not need your company, leave! Don't you ever come into my room without knocking!"
"Oh okay." She turned around with a heavy heart and immediately burst into sobs. She sniffled loudly as she walked away from him.
Ericson felt bad about the way he made her feel. He was annoyed with Avyanna but he had transferred agression on Nancy so he called her back to apologize. "Hey wait."
She turned back to look at him, her eyes soaked in tears. "Did I offend you my Alpha?" She asked innocently, still in tears.
"No you did not. Come here." He went soft and got up to console her.
He couldn't help but compare and contrast the weeping Omega with his ever strong Luna, that dared not show any emotions. In that instance, Avyanna would have never shed a tear nor eaked away. She would have stood her ground and asked him why he spoke to her in that manner or walk away angrily and never turn back, but the Omega was a weeping weakling who wanted nothing more than to please him and that's the way Ericson wanted Avyanna to be, as submissive as the Omega.
She made her face droopy, seeking extra attention and affection from Ericson. She snuggled to him shyly as he wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm sorry for whatever I may have done." She whispered softly, her body rubbing on Ericson's body and causing a sexual tension between them. She stared into his eyes seeking for more from him, and yearning for more than his compassion for her state.
"You didn't do anything wrong my dear Omega." Ericson gave into her unsaid desires and leaned in to kiss her. He grabbed her exposed waist sensually and pulled her closer to his body until they could feel every part of their bodies that pulsed in anticipation of copulation. She kissed him deeper, the tears in her eyes evaporating and getting replaced with glee.
She raced her hands across his broad chest and unbuttoned his shirt. In turn, he easily unclipped her skimpy clothes and in no time, they were nude and ready for what was to come.
Ericson hoisted her up and she clasped her legs on his waist as he carried her to his bed. He tossed her on it and hurriedly ravaged her body. He carresed her breasts as she moaned in pleasure. Her body throbbed for him as her insides moistened, and his shaft hardened at the tune of her moans. He kissed her some more before flipping her over and spreading her legs
He slowly penetrated his rod into her slit and recoiled his waist. He plunged in again and kept at it. Her moans of pleasure echoed around the room as he kept penetrating her rigorously.
