CHAPTER 63

CHAPTER SIXTY- FOUR
Before Katie resurfaced, Avyanna had been crying her eyes out.
She was weak and there seemed to be nothing she could do about her strength or the strength of her men.
Then, she screamed so loud and something strange began to happen inside of her. She could feel her eyes twitch uncontrollably, her hands became cold and she could feel her strength revive, all those things were not strange to her, what was strange to her, was that She could hear a familiar voice, it sounded almost like her voice, but fiercer than her voice. She could hear the voice loud and clear.
She thought it was her mind at first, but the stuff in her head replied to all she thought and said. She wondered what the moon queen did to her.
"Katie!!" Avyanna yelped.
"Let's win this battle first, it's a long story."
Deep down, Avyanna knew that after her encounter with the moon goddess, a lot had changed about her, she could understand that, but she could not understand the newest development.
The roar of Katie was louder. Katie was faster. Even better, and more surprising, her fur glowed brighter.
As Katie took a swing at an enemy, the force that emitted from her paws swiped ten other enemies that were behind and cut them in half.
"Katie, what was that?" Avyanna asked in shock. Katie smirked staring at her paws.
"A lot of things have changed Avyanna." Katie sounded happy and took another swing at more enemies behind.
"That is awesome!" Avyanna responded with a mixture of soberness and excitement, because she was finally winning the war. It was like the Moon Goddess kept this day special for her wolf to return.
Avy was finally effective in the battle with Katie, even as her mind continued to rain questions.
“We have to fight.” Katie's voice said, ordering, as she took another jab at incoming enemies.
“Who happened to you Katie, why are you here now? After all this time.” Avyanna questioned. "I felt you a few times before but why now? Why have you just come out now? I know the aconite had so much effect on you but you made me think that I had lost you for good."
“If I told you why, you will find it very hard to believe, so why bother?" Katie replied, "We are at war now, so let's get this over with."
“Try me, Katie. There is nothing that can surprise me anymore. What are you doing in my head? Why did you choose to come out now?" Avyanna thought she had lost her mind.
“Since you are persistent. Here goes nothing. The poison that Nancy gave you in the past still had an effect on me and I have been hibernating so I will have enough strength." Her wolf replied.
"Is that what was so hard to believe? Why have I been sensing you in bits and what kind of powers are these?" Avyanna was confused if it was really Katie her wolf or another Katie, "Tell me what I need to know."
"The times you felt me, was when I woke for a little bit, because you were trying so hard to trigger me, but I was not ready. Especially when you felt that connection with your mate. I should have come put then, but I was too weak."
"The powers?" Avyanna asked again.
As they communicated telepathically, Katie was taking jabs at the enemies and cutting them down like they were nothing.
"The moon goddess!" Katie howled as she threw another batch of the enemies in the air.
“Katie, my wolf?” Avyanna questioned.
“How many Katies have you?” The wolf replied. Avyanna did not know how she would respond to the new transformation, she stood up and a whole was different about her body, her strength was full, she felt alive and free, and she felt revived.
“Behind you!” Avyanna screamed. Katie turned only to find two warriors running towards her, her reflex action amazed her, she had grown in speed, and she became super light, so it was so easy to end the incoming attackers.
“How did you see them come, I wasn't even looking in that direction."
“Well in case you forgot, I too have a sharp sense of perception and I am not a dog. I have abilities, and it includes being sensitive, and when I say sensitive, I mean super sensitive.”
The wolf and Avyanna communicated as they fought.
"What did you mean by the moon goddess?" Avyanna continued.
"This is another reason I was hibernating. I needed the new powers to completely sink into me for what is to come."
"What is to come?" Avyanna asked in shock.
"A great danger, and let's just hope, this new power is going to be enough to fight it." Katie was making Avyanna confused.
Katie could fly higher heights than she could do before, the wolf did kinds of stuff she did not know wolves were capable to do.
“Hit that big guy thrice on his knees and chop his head off” Avyanna yelled.
“How come I can hear you talk to me? How come I can feel you as though you are here.” Avyanna asked Katie again, in disbelief and because she missed her wolf so dearly.
“I would prefer you ask the moon goddess why you can hear me speak, and well you know, I'm back now, and I am not going anywhere anymore," Kathie replied
Together, they conquered more men. Katie sliced and bite with sheer force and a magical force that had an impact on enemies that were meters away.
She could also transform, with ease, it was just as if her wolf could feel her desires and do them before she said so.
The two fought side by side, as they communicated with each other, Avyanna was taking down a lot of men from the other warrior pack, but her warriors were not still fit, as they kept falling, while the enemies increased in number.
The clouds became heavy and poured out its rain, the thunder roared, and a great wind was before them.
The atmosphere reeked of gloom.
As the waters drizzled upon the face of the earth, Avyanna could see her fallen warriors. The dead bodies of her warriors littered the earth and she grew weary.
Avyanna had ended all the enemies that had breached the gates of her kingdom, but there was still a battle happening beyond the gates. As she stared at the war happening afar off, all she could think about was saving her surviving warriors
Avyanna lost her motivation to fight and her wolf could feel her fears.
“Avyanna, I am with you, now and always, if you desire to retreat, I am in support of it. Your heart should not be torn, we will fight this war another time and win it.” Katie softly spoke to Avyanna, that was the only moment her voice did not sound like a hurricane out to seek terror.
“I should tell my men to retreat, I would tell my warriors to retreat, yes I know we will win this battle another day, a better day, we should live to fight it again." Avyanna reaffirmed the words of her wolf. She couldn't stand to see her men lose their lives regardless of the fact that they were warriors.
She was not happy that after the long period of war, how great she had lost her men. Even though Katie was immensely powerful, it was not still enough for victory. They still had no chance of being the victors.
Avyanna turned back into herself and immediately grabbed some clothes and wrapped them around her body.
Then she whimpered to herself, "Retreat."
Jonathan, with his super hearing, heard the Luna and rushed towards her direction.
"Are we finally retreating?" He asked the heartbroken Luna.
"Yes. You were right. We are no match for them."
Jonathan immediately called out to his warriors. "Retreat!"
The surviving warriors withdrew their fangs, paws, and claws and headed back into the kingdom.
“Into the walls, into the walls, guide yourself, we retreat, move, move, move, Jonathan, help Nathan, he is wounded, retreat warriors of the great kingdom wales, let’s go, go, go, retreat all warriors, fall back, we live to fight again, Bagsontem shield me, Jonathan, join him, join Bagsontem and take shield me, let's fight so all of our warriors can fall back, move it, let’s go.” Avyanna used every last strength, she had to fight till all of her men retreated.
Jonathan, Bagsontem, and the Luna were about to retreat when one of the warriors that opposed them shot an arrow. The arrow was aimed to kill Avyanna, but Bangsontem took cover on her behalf, he died on the spot as he had no strength left in him before he died. They could not carry his body because the warriors were coming to the gate, Avyanna and Jonathan retreated quickly and they shut the gates.
Katie congratulated Avyanna for a just fight, Avyanna wondered what had just happened, she looked at her warriors, and she wondered, who did this to them.
'Why did they choose this day?'Avyanna was torn. She knew it was not safe for her people to live in Wales for the time being.
She then thought of what she could do, so they could be safe. She could not tell them to be on guard just in case the warriors that contended with them returned, the men were wounded and exhausted, she thought to herself.
“Jonathan, we need to leave Wales, I have a feeling that they might return, and we are not prepared. We could all go down for it.” Avyanna said.
“Where do we retreat to Luna?” Jonathan questioned, he knew that the only choice they had was _
“To the Lycan territory,” Avyanna replied.
