CHAPTER 88

CHAPTER EIGHTY EIGHT

Avyanna stood up in the large cage that entrapped her, confused and shocked. It was not something she had bode to happen.
“What’s happening? Why are you doing this? What do you want? Come out and show your cowardice in full display. Why hide in the dark? show yourself you coward!” Avyanna screamed, she did not understand why Brute did what he did. “You fucking snake! Just what are you? You say you want to be my friend. You taught me a lot about life, you taught me to forgive, you walked me through my bad times, was that a lie? show your freaking self!” Avyanna retorted relentlessly. Then she felt a cold wind form behind her. Her cage grew cold and the same energy that she felt from Theseus formed behind her. Theseus appeared right in front of her cage and patted her back. She shrugged, but still it frightened her.
“Hello my pet.” Theseus’ calm voice shook the room.
“This …. Him!” Baron barked and rattled the cage upon seeing Theseus. “I knew he was up to no good! Who the hell are you? Hey!” Baron drew Theseus attention away from Avyanna.
“Do you think he is in there?” Nancy whispered to Thomas before she walked into the room.
“Yeah. He should be.” Thomas said as he walked into the room.
Nancy and Thomas walked in and saw Baron in a cage.
“Whoa.” Nancy exclaimed with a conspicuous smirk. Nancy casted her gaze from Baron and then to Avyanna. She could tell they were frustrated.
“Nancy?” Avyanna’s mind was blown and her thoughts were divided into a million pieces as she saw Nancy and …” Thomas!? What the fuck is happening here?”
“I don’t get it. Who … They are all connected?” Baron was as confused as she was.
Nancy and Thomas just smiled and evil smile at the duo stuck in the cage.
“Who dares interrupt my meeting?” Theseus thundered.
“I greet you master of the dark.” Nancy bowed immediately Theseus casted a devilish glance at her.
“Nancy you should not be here. Leave! I am in a very important parley, except you want to be a part of it. You have done your part now be out of my sight!” Theseus Brute walked down to Thomas.
“Take your hoe with you, be gone, now!” He ordered with his thunderous voice.
“I cannot leave your evilness, this was not part of the plan.” Nancy bowed in respect. But it seemed like it was a mock respect.
“Nancy, since when did you scheme my plans for me? I give you a chance to leave, or else, you know what I can do.” Theseus replied, he had lost his patience already.
“Scheme?” Avyanna whispered to herself, trying to make sense of the whole situation.
“Well your evilness, it is I Thomas, your most trusted one. Nancy and I know not of anything happening here. We had only come to inquire about a few things.” Thomas replied mildly, he was not happy with the scene, not because he cared about Avyanna or Baron, but because it just made him realize how wicked Theseus was. He was a ruthless person too but he actually cared about creatures in a way, but the dark master cared about nobody.
From the way Nancy addressed Theseus, Avyanna deduced that he was her boss and if she was terrified by his presence then he must be really evil.
“Well I am not in any way interested, just leave.” Brute screams.
Avyanna and Baron observed the argument between the trio, they for sure did not understand what was happening. It bothered Avyanna greatly, but she just wanted to be free.
“Why chase them out? You don’t want your puppets to know who you really are?” Avyanna asked Theseus, fishing for answers.
“They have seen a part of me you have never seen, be careful you little rat, I bite.” Theseus Brute almost smirked in pride.
“Did you just call us puppets?” Nancy asked Avyanna.
“Yes, that’s all you are to him, puppets, pawn, worshippers, servants. Your lives mean nothing to him.” Avyanna mocked.
“My lord.” Nancy and Thomas walked further into the room. They knew there was a hidden truth in what Avyanna was saying.
“Do not move any further.” Theseus ordered.
“You’re lucky. You would have lost an eye right now.” Nancy hissed at Avyanna. “My liege, We need to see you about a matter of great importance.” Nancy said.
“What could be more important than what I am doing right now?”
“This is about …” Baron continued but he was unable to carry on with what he was saying.
Nancy took over from Thomas, “How we started to work together.”
Theseus could not watch them play tricks in front of him any longer.
He snapped his fingers and out of nowhere, two huge cages dropped over Thomas and Nancy, trapping them separately.
“You young creatures can be naive and inconsistent, you can never learn the ways of the old, you brag and act so foolish, how can I care about any of you, how?” Theseus Brute laughed, he felt happy seeing all four creatures locked up by him.
Thomas realized how stupid he had been walking with Theseus. He really did not for once care for him, but he was so stupid to have felt the devil would care for him or anybody. He stared to see the point in all Nancy had said the; he saw how the devil had manipulated them all. Especially for him that had killed thousands and thousands of people, just to be on the table of the nine creatures, and another ten thousand to prove more of his loyalty.
“We gave you our loyalty you ungrateful old …devil. We have always put our lives on the line for you.” Thomas said, looking at Theseus in his eyes directly without removing it for the first time.
“Who cares about your life? or your loyalty? obviously I do not, having you in my territory is something you should be grateful for.” Theseus attacked.
“We should be grateful that you are a manipulator or you are a greedy thief?” Nancy insulted. She hated the fact he threw her in a cage, that he could not spare Thomas, who had done a lot of his dirty jobs. Not like it was unusual of him , but even the actual devil had agents.
Thomas deserved a lot more than the devil could offer. Nancy observed that she was not scared of the dark master first time in history, she wished she could rip his apart.
“Nancy you should shut up, hahaaha, you are more than a physic, I can see you have no respect for me in you, I can see my leniency has made you so arrogant. I would have chopped off that neck of yours when I had the chance. It seems rubbing your shoulders with your superior has made you to forget so quickly who gave you a life. Who stood for you when your stupid family pack abandoned you. Well that is what you ordinary creatures do when someone worthy decides to render help to you; you collect the help and then forget where it came from, you are always pathetic and unreasonable, because if you were reasonable, you would have continued to worship me without complaint. Worship and have all the power I have to offer all of you, including the stupid Thomas you have influenced with your stupidity. I knew your friendship would be the death of him because Nancy you spoil everything your hand touches. If not for your sluggishness, I would have been done with Avyanna of the Wales kingdom, a long time ago.”
The more Theseus spoke, the more it made sense to Avyanna. Nancy and Thomas were nothing but Theseus’ minions.
He barked, Theseus eyes lit with fire, his teeth sparked with a little lightening.
Thomas felt betrayed but he did not know why. Even if he had knew from the beginning that the devil did not care about everybody, deep down he somehow wished he cared a little for the nine creatures because they had been through hell.
They had laid their life down for him, now he could understand, he could understand that the matter was you washed the spots of a leopard, it would still be a leopard, and no matter how hard you bathed a pig, it would still be a pig. If only Thomas had known before now that the devil was literally the devil, he would have taken him down decades ago, and it would have not been a topic for the present day.
He would have used all his enemies and all those who hated the devil, against the devil.
