CHAPTER 83

Chapter EIGHTY THREE

The Lycan king lost everything that made him hopeful about life.
Baron was not happy about everything that had happened. He blamed himself greatly for not divining the idea that Avyanna would get to know about the real cause behind Ericson’s death.
“All I wanted to do was get back to him for what he did to her!”
As Baron sat brooding, he recounted the night it all went down.

It was the night that Avyanna, Ericson, and Baron had just returned from Alpha Thomas kingdom. The night Avyanna had just learned the truth of everything that had happened to her parents.
“I will kill him for this!” Baron breathed as he perambulated around his room.
He pictured ways he was going to kill Ericson before he wore black overalls and took out a silver dagger.
“I would kill him with my bare hands but I need him to feel this pain!” Baron headed out.
Just as he emerged from his room, he ran into Steve who immediately discerned that the Lycan king was up to no good.
“Are you sure about this?” Steve asked.
“You will speak nothing of this night.” Baron warned before he set out, and Steve who was oblivious of the details of the evil that his Alpha was headed to perpetrate, never spoke of the night again.
When Baron snuck into the kingdom, it was dark and Avyanna had already separated her pack from Ericson’s so it was easy for him to sneak in due to the ruckus that was happening in the kingdom.
He slithered his way past the guards and made his way to Ericson’s room, undetected.
“Why are you here?” Ericson asked, sniffing Baron out of the shadows.
“You have caused her so much pain.” Baron said as he unsheathed his silver dagger.
“So, you came to what? Warn me? Pfft. If only you knew what I know.” Ericson disregarded his presence.
“I came to kill you.” Baron’s voice was gruff.
“That’s a good one. You know, I have always respected you because I know you are a great Lycan, but this disrespect will not be tolerated.” Ericson transformed into his wolf and swung his claws at Baron, but he swiftly dodged and drove the dagger into his chest.
“It’s over for you.” Baron said as he stood over Ericson’s body.
Henry slowly transformed back to Ericson as the blood in his veins turned purple from the silver dagger.
“What have you done?” Ericson wheezed, gasping for air and clutching the dagger in his chest.
“What she wants. She doesn’t need you anymore so die!” Baron used his foot and drove the dagger further into his chest. The blood from Ericson splashed on Baron’s clothes.
“You have no idea what’s coming.” Ericson said as he took his last breath.
Baron took out his dagger and snuck out of the room, snuck out of the kingdom and back to his territory.
As he was about to enter his room, he met an inquisitive Avyanna, but he just lied that the blood stain on his clothes came from hunting.
Baron felt fulfilled that night. He had no idea that his act was going to haunt him and make him lose what he cared so much for.

“I did it for you Avyanna.” He brooded, as he missed Avyanna a whole lot. He could do nothing to deviate his mind from his agony and grief no matter how hard he tried for\ the reality of the event was stuck to his skull.
Nevertheless, Baron decided to check on his sister Rania.
“She is so little and she has already gone through more than I have.” Baron whispered his feelings about what Rania went through. “That bitch Nancy!” he cursed.
Rania had regained consciousness and strength but she did not regain the happiness of being around Avyanna. Rania was so fond of Avyanna and her absence affected her mood.
Rania would always make joke of Avyanna and how she was happy her brother and her were in relationship. It was because Avyanna was the only selfless person she had ever seen with her brother with at least for first time in a long time.
The Alpha had disappointed her.
Baron stood in front of his sister, discombobulated on the present situation but he still had a pack to lead so he had to show them that he cared.
“How are you responding to treatment?” Baron asked mildly but Rania was not interested in his question.
She spoke to herself murmuring and grumbling.
“Talk to me Rania. I know you are angry.”
“Has anyone bewitched you or cast a spell of fruitless relationship and near success syndrome in you love affair?” Rania began, slightly rude to her big brother.
“No.”
“Do you know that Avyanna was the greatest good luck charm you would ever get in your lifetime and you have just ruined it?”
“Rania… that is …”
“Apart from Avyanna being a decent creature, your bond with her automatically strengthened our pack and hers. It made us extremely dreadful.”
“Rania…” Baron tried to stop her from talking but she let it all out. She was really pissed with him.
“So why did you do such a thing especially when you knew that Avyanna would eventually get to know about it? Have you forgotten the old myth that you told me? … No secret is completely a secret because nothing is hidden under the moon forever.”
“I remember.”
“Her ex was not a threat to your love affair and even if he was, you should have told Avyanna that you planned to kill him.” Rania did not stop her complaint, it went on and on until Baron was exhausted listening to her.
“The kidnap plotted by that lady is impervious to my health and strength, but the absence of Avyanna is not?”
Rania said she wanted Avyanna back and if Baron wanted her too he should quickly act like he did and not stand there like he was not affected by her absence. She told him she was tired of him messing up his life every single time he had it fixed and in perfect place.
“You need to fix this Baron. Fix it lie you would if I was involved” Rania said to him as he was about to leave. “Get her back. Then I will answer every other question you might have to ask me.”
Baron remained broken and mute but only for a while, he had not just betrayed Avyanna, but also his sisters.
Before Baron left, he explained to the young Rania that he would never intentionally hurt Avyanna and she knew it.
Baron was devastated, at the same time, he felt irritated by his act. Baron nevertheless knew what to do but his strength failed him. He knew that he had to see Avyanna. He needed to bring her back to his kingdom, his family and his heart.
“I just need her forgiveness. I don’t want much.” Whatever was going to happen would happen. Besides, Baron did not sense Avyanna would give up on everything they had. He knew that she was decent enough to listen to him, then he would have to opportunity to apologize, even if she was not interested in any explanation.
Baron reflected on the last days he spent together with Avyanna. They were happy days.
He finally made a decision, he concluded that he was going to see and speak with his lost love.
Just at the reality hit him, he set out to go and visit her.

Theseus had a great idea going on in his head and Baron had just destabilized his creativity. He watched as the lover boy walked in and suddenly despised him momentously.
Truly anyone who knew Theseus, knew he hated everybody. Baron walked into the room feeling the strange power that floated in the kingdom. He felt the negative energy that was oozing in the room.
When he was close to Theseus, he knew that something was not right for sure. The malevolent spirit and dark energy could never be from Avyanna or any one in her pack.
Baron did not care about the energy, all he sought was Avyanna’s forgiveness so he just breezed into the room and yelled, “Avyanna, please hear me out.”
Damn it! This fool has ruined my plans. I can’t do this right now. Theseus was angry yet the expression was extinct form his face.
“Avyanna, I am sorry.” Baron said.
It was a confusing sight, seeing such a great alpha be so humble before the Luna.
“Excuse us for a minute Theseus.” Avyanna said.
“Alright.” Theseus said as he walked out. He locked eyes with Baron as he exited the room.
“What the hell do you want? Have you come to kill me too?’ Avyanna asked.
“No, but I think he was. Who was that?” Baron asked in concern.
“It doesn’t matter. What the hell do you want from me?” Avyanna was emotionless. Perhaps losing a mate to a lie was possible.
