CHAPTER 15

CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Avyanna could feel an energy surge within her as she entered the room. The strong scent filled the room making her unable to point out where it came from. She was able to control herself at the first feel of the energy but she doubted her resolve to control herself the more she walked into the room.
Avyanna couldn't deny that the energy in the room was familiar. The familiarity of the unwavering scent engulfed her entire being until all she could do was look out for who exactly had it; she knew that her old crush didn't possess such aura.
"Could it be that a Lycan is spying on me?' She thought to herself but then decided to ignore the scent because she didn't know who exactly owned it. She also decided to forget it because that would mean that it was a Lycan's presence that she felt at Lauren Hills.
"Maybe it's just a typical Lycan scent that I am not aware of." Avyanna thought to herself again as she walked up to Baron.
The Lycan King let out a roar as Avyanna approached, making her puzzled and sterner, and the scent grew stronger.
Avyanna regretted making the decision to wear the dress that the Lycan Alpha had gifted to her. She felt uneasy inside the dress especially as she stood in front of him.
She was not happy with herself for not acting how she intended to. The humble act she pulled wasn't how she was meant to act in front of him. Before they met face-to-face, he had said things that had gotten her pissed, she was supposed to be angry with him, and not speak to him, but she housed an irresistible urge was to get closer to Baron; the roaring Lycan.
Avyanna wondered what the Lycans were doing at the night of the Full Moon Feast. She knew that they would never mingle with werewolves on any rare occasion, so she was confused as to what begged their decision to show up to the Feast.
"What is up with the Lycans being here? What is your brother trying to accomplish?" Avyanna had asked Gina about it earlier but Gina refused to reply, saying nothing about it, rather Gina had warned her about being rude and disrespectful to her brother.
"Don't ask too many questions Avy, please. Promise me."
"You know me too well Gina; I never make a promise and I always get my answers."
Gina advised her to remain silent in front of the Lycan King, except she was been questioned. "You have to promise." Gina protested.
With no zeal, Avyanna said, "Okay fine." She had promised Gina that she would comply but deep down, she was aware that she won't be able to do that because she wasn't brought up that way. She was taught to be brave and bold regardless of the person. She was a queen that should not bend down to anyone's wishes. She would never.
Avyanna couldn't deny the fact that the Lycan King was so handsome. "No wonder he thought I wanted to sleep with him in the first place." Avyanna thought.
He had a chiseled jaw that was beautified by day old spiky beards, he was ripped, and tall.
"Your Highness, Gina said you wanted to see me." Avyanna broke the uncomfortable silence between them.
"Luna Avyanna of Wales, it's a pleasure to finally meet you. Please take a seat as I will attend to you shortly." Baron was still speechless on how things turned out. He found it hard to believe that the Luna was his mate. He did not know whether he should feel happy or sad about it.
Baron cursed the Moon Goddess under his breath as he stared at Avy, "Why would the Moon Goddess give me another man's wife as my mate?"
Avyanna wasn't just another man's wife, she was the chosen mate of another man and she bore her husband's mark on her neck.
Avyanna wasn't the perfect mate that Baron had imagined. He had waited patiently for a lady who would be powerful and extraordinary, not a werewolf. Avyanna seemed like a normal lady to him. Baron didn't want to jump into conclusions already because the Luna's presence inside the room was making him more powerful and energetic. His sense of sight and hearing were becoming more sharper than the regular. It was obvious that the mate bond was begging to flow in his viens.
In that situation, Baron found something odd. The Luna wasn't affected by the bond the same way he had been affected. She just looked into his eyes like she didn't feel a thing, making it seem like it was normal, which meant only one thing; she didn't know he was her mate.
Baron felt hurt even though he was pleased that he could finally set his eyes on his mate.
"My King, is everything okay?" Steve asked. The Lycan Alpha was determined to deal with the Luna but he became unusually quiet which drew the concern of his Beta.
"Enlighten me more about this Luna of Wales, what is the information you gathered about her? what is her story?" Baron asked ignoring his Beta's question.
"My King, Luna Avyanna is the Luna of Wales, the choosen mate and wife of Alpha Ericson Walton on Wales. They have been married together for years with their packs joint together, but luckily or unluckily for Ericson, he found his mate in the woods and brought her to the pack house."
"Wait! he has not rejected his mate?" Baron asked as tiny hope sprang up in his chest.
"No he hasn't. not yet."
"Then what is he waiting for?" Baron was trying to hide his little excitement.
"Rumors has it that his Omega mate is homeless and an orphan as a matter of fact, and Ericson decided to keep her with him for the mean time."
"How can he keep his wife and his mate in the same house when he hasn't rejected his mate yet as tradition demands?"
"I do not know but from my sources, they say he has developed a liking for his mate."
"You must be joking! You're telling me he would chose a weak Omega over this beautiful Luna?" Baron could not believe that he was the one defending the Luna.
"It might be the mate's bond, who knows."
"Alright, step aside while I talk to the Luna."
It was evident that all the male Lycans in the room were staring at Avyanna. She looked so hot in her dress and everyone was found thinking about what they would do with her in private. Baron wasn't pleased, hearing what his men were thinking, so he ordered all of them to leave the room by linking his mind with theirs.
Avyanna wondered why the Lycans were leaving the room and she looked at the Lycan King.
"Luna Avyanna, I must say, you are quite ungrateful." Baron had to start the conversation somewhere, he didn't want to be caught off guard, he had to compose himself. The Luna was clueless of him being her mate, therefore he had to act normal for awhile to understand what was going on.
"Why would you say that your Highness?" Avyanna asked.
"You received the package I had sent to you but you never appreciated it."
"I do not understand. How much more do you want me to appreciate it. I received it and thank you for the package but I do not think that is a good enough way of apologizing to someone you've offended. The sentence "I am sorry" would have done more justice than the package you sent. Material things do not impress me, sorry to disappoint you."
"How dare you speak to the King in such manner?" Steve growled in anger.
"Step aside Steve, this conversation is between my brother and the Luna." Gina protested.
Avyanna had to drop some of her ego because she would not win a fight with a Lycan especially when her wolf was missing." I am sorry, your Highness if my words came out too rude."
Baron was taken back by the Luna's response. He was expecting her to beg but here she was defending herself so confidently. No lady had ever challenged him like this and Avyanna wasn't just any other lady anymore, she was his mate.
"Well, I do not care." Baron said hiding his shock. There was an awkward silence between the both of them.
"Your Highness, Gina said you wanted to see me." Avyanna didn't want to spend more time inside this room with the Lycan Alpha because he had made it clear to her that he wasn't going to help her.
"Luna Avyanna, we need to talk."
