CHAPTER 34
CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR
Gina was still trying to understand if her brother was playing games with Avyanna's heart, or if he really had feelings for the Luna because of what she knew of her brother. He wasn't the type to go for long term relationships, neither did he subscribe to the idea of commitment. Girls came naturally to him; falling at his feet and all he had to do was go to bed with the ones he selected with no feelings attached.
But Avyanna's case was strange and confusing, and the mere fact that she was a werewolf baffled Gina the most as to why Baron would be interested in her. Gina was really concerned about the Luna because she was facing a hard time in her pack house and she didn't want Baron to give her another heartbreak to add to the one that she was experiencing.
"This is Baron's room, his room is just next to yours. He made his new room close to the old one because he hasn't still fully recovered from our parents death even though he seems tough." Gina explained as they walked past Baron's room.
Avyanna wondered what Baron would be doing at the moment inside his room. She couldn't still take her minds off the things the Lycan Alpha had said to her on her way here. She wanted to discuss it with Gina but she kicked against it because she came to the Lycan territory to work, and she wasn't ready to allow her emotions take control of her or prevent her from achieving her goals. Her past life was still haunting her and she had some lives that needed her saving.
"Your pack house isn't really that big as mine yet it's so equisite." Avyanna exclaimed as they walked through the corridors in the Baron's royal mansion. They walked further away from Baron's room, down a corridor and took a left.
"Over there is my annoying little sister's room." Gina pointed at a door that had a pink 'DO NOT DISTURB' sticker on it.
"I think she is very creative." Avyanna giggled.
"Yeah." Gina admitted in subtle jealousy, "Over there is Steve's." She pointed at another door further down the corridor.
"Wow. So where does the Lycan Alpha work? Does he have like an office of something?" Avyanna asked like a detective.
"Well, look at you going all Nancy Drew on me. Okay, I'll show you his office. Come on." Gina led her away from the corridors to another part of the house that was segregated yet close to Baron's room. It was an octagon shaped room that just stood on its own. "That's the one."
"So ... Exquisite."
"I know right. Alphas. Pfft." Gina smiled.
"Wow, every room is so connected and perfectly in order." Avyanna complimented.
"All of this was Baron's idea because he enjoys his privacy so much and he instructed that all his warriors and workers be granted a separate building from this one but quite close to this, to enable them carry out their duties with ease and he also wanted them to feel comfortable so he felt building them a separate place, will make them interact more among themselves which is actually a very nice idea. The Lycans appreciate him for that." Gina smiled as she spoke of her brother. Baron's attitude was annoying to Gina sometimes but Gina was always proud of him because of his achievements in spite of the fact that she never said this to his face for once.
"You're right, it's really a nice idea." Avyanna confessed.
"Come on. Let's explore the other buildings." Gina held Avy's wrist and urged her to follow her hurriedly outside. The outer parts of the territory was spacious and divided into fractions, yet housed a united breed of people.
"It looks so ...organized."
"Yeah, It is. Look let's go meet the warriors." Gina led her to a group of Lycans training how to rip throats out with their claws. Just as they almost reached, they were stopped by Steve.
"Gina what are you doing?" Steve asked.
"I'm showing the Luna around." Gina said hoarsely.
"This part is out of bounds." He then turned to Avyanna and continued, "All due respect my Luna, the warriors do mind being observed while training." Steve spoke respectfully.
"Fine. Whatever." Gina led Avyanna away from there and showed her to the part that the maids and workers of the territory stayed.
Avyanna was amazed at the decorum. "Wow." She exclaimed.
When all the sightseeing was done, Gina asked, "So how do you feel about the Lycan territory?"
"First of all, I wasn't expecting this but I must say, there is so much uniformity and everyone seems so organized. I think I'm falling in love here. It won't be bad to visit here often even when I'm done with working with the Lycan Alpha." Avyanna said.
"I'll be so glad if you come again after you've settled everything." Gina said gleefully.
"I just hope everything will work out." Avyanna sighed.
"So how has everything been in your pack house? The Omega and your husband?" Gina inquired with a soft voice.
"Soon to be ex-husband please..." Avyanna scoffed in disgust, almost like she was choking on a bag egg.
"I stand corrected." Gina chuckled silently.
"Well everything has been hell especially after the feast where I had to dance with your brother. To Ericson, it was like I did the worst thing in the entire world."
"Are being serious? It shouldn't have been a big deal for him especially after leaving you alone only to dance with the Omega." Gina was pissed.
"Ericson is selfish and possessive and I hope to be done with his childish act soon. He wants me to be submissive to him but he can't even respect himself." She spoke with a subtle smirk of assurance that she would be done with him soon enough.
"I'm really sorry for everything you're going through. Is the Omega causing any trouble?"
"As usual. She made out with Eric, in fact they have been sleeping together, what else should a wife do to a husband that the Omega hasn't done to my husband." Avyanna sounded hurt as she had to say those things.
"Are you kidding me?" Gina yelled.
"I wish I was Gina. Everything from my past life has started playing back in my face that's why I need your brother and I, to stick together and do what needs to be done because I don't think I can face the Omega and Eric any longer. This morning she wounded herself with her own hands and blamed me for it and fortunately for her, Eric believed her and they both stood up against me. I'm glad your brother also came to my rescue because I felt so embarrassed after the entire incident." Avyanna carefully told the story that still annoyed her.
"I just can't believe Ericson has changed so much. He doesn't even respect the memories you've built with him or the things both of you shared together. As for the Omega, I wish I was there with you, I won't hesitate to draw more blood from her skin like she wanted." Gina bare her teeth in anger and folder her fists.
"We shouldn't be discussing about her, she's not worth it." Avyanna smiled and shook the feeling off.
"Avy, I'm a tad bit curious but is there something personal going on between you and Baron?" Gina asked.
This was the discussion Avyanna had been escaping but she couldn't lie to her friend regardless of the fact that it had to do with her private life. "Honestly I really don't know but I feel a little spark between us anytime he is around."
"Well, have you discussed it with him and also have you asked him his intentions about you?" Gina was cool about it, even though her sister jealous-instincts kicked in.
"I haven't told him how I felt but I intend to keep things formal between us, only that on our way here, he told me he is interested in me." Avyanna spoke with a straight face.
"Seriously?"
"Yeah, I know it sounds crazy and you told me to be careful but he sounded sincere about the whole thing."
"I won't lie to you but I also believe he is interested in you because the whole preparations and assigning that room to you has explained so much in just a day. I'm just worried about you because I doubt my brother is ready to settle right now. But don't misquote me, I haven't seen him with any other lady since the night you danced with him at the Feast." Gina nodded as she spoke.
Avyanna hid her enthusiasm. She knew there was some connection between her and the Lycan Alpha.
"Well, with time, I guess we would know the truth. But I don't think I'm also ready to court anyone at the moment. Ericson has left a big hole and it may take sometime to fill it."
"I understand. Just know that you can confide in me anytime." Gina hugged Avyanna.
"Yeah and thank you for listening to me. I guess the fatigue has started kicking in. I should go to my room." Avy said as the hug ended.
"Aren't you going to eat dinner? Or should I send the maids to bring it to your room?"
"You don't need to bother about that. I don't think I'm hungry, I'm just tired."
"So till tomorrow then?"
"Yes and please make sure that whatever Rania is planning is what I can deal with."
"Sure." Gina snickered at the thought of Rania planning a party.
"I know she is smart so she won't disappoint me."

The last thing Avyanna remembered before finding herself in the middle of the woods was walking away from the territory to explore more on her own.
She stood in the middle of the woods looking around and shivering, wondering how she got there.
"Hello. Is someone there?" She called out delicately. Then she heard a twig snap as a response and it scared her some more.
"Hello, who is there?" She asked in fright, moving away from the location the sound came from.
As Avyanna searched the grey darkeness of the woods she could see the figure of a huge wolf standing in the distance. It reminded her of the figure that she saw when she was falling down a void to the present life. It was the same wolf that she saw when the moon goddess gave her a second chance.
"Hello?" She squinted her eyes as she looked at the wolf in the distance. She couldn't see it clearly; just a huge silhouette with piercing golden eyes and a low growl.
"Who are you!" She screamed and just then, the bushes around her rustled and from the bushes emerged a bunch or rogues.
It was an ambush.
The feeling she felt reminded her of the time that her parents were killed. She felt as helpless as she did.
One by one, the rogues increased in number until she was outnumbered.
"Katie, I need you now." She cried. But no response from Katie.
She peered in the distance through the raging rogues, but couldn't see the giant wolf she saw earlier. She was so helpless, she didn't do anything. She just yelled for help as the rogues charged murderously towards her.
"Help!" The sound of her own scream woke her up, and what she saw made her think she was still in a dream, because why would Baron be in the same room with her, clutching on her boobies.
