CHAPTER 82
CHAPTER EIGHTY TWO
The cryptic nature of the man that Avyanna had just invited into her kingdom was obvious.
“Theseus.” Avyanna began as she led him into the pack house. “ You’re not from around here are you?”
“No. I am from a place far away, yet it happens to be so close.”
Jeez! so cryptic.
Avy was intrigued by it, even though it was weird.
“Surprise me. What could be so far away yet so close? You sound like an old person yet you look so young. What pack do you belong to?”
“Trust me, my Queen, this place I speak of is not as grand as yours. By the way, what happened to your kingdom. It looked like it was attacked.” Theseus deflected.
“We were attacked. By an army that used magic. An army who I have no idea who or what their motive was.” Avyanna replied, “Now what pack do you belong to?”
“I am a lone wolf your majesty. What did the attackers look like?” Theseus was trying to escape Avyanna’s interrogations.
“Why? Did your pack kick you out?” Avyanna totally ignored his question.
“No.” Theseus faked sadness in his tone, “My parents were killed and we were forced out of our kingdom so I have been living the life of a lone wolf ever since.”
“I am so sorry about that.” Avyanna consoled.
After that, they talked about the most powerful Alphas, the sirens and other creatures.
Avyanna could tell that he was a person who understood the laws of everything mystical, and a person with such ideas must have lived and controlled a whole lot, and that is what made this creature even more intriguing.
Avyanna kept trying to ask personal questions, but he would always ignore her questions in a subtle manner that she wouldn’t even notice.
Theseus was enjoying the entire conversation. He had not discussed with any of the nine creatures as he had with him, the way he wanted.
Truthfully, he was not really interested in the kingdom or the Wales pack, all her cared about was Avyanna and her goddess-given Life force.
“How come you are highly informed about all creatures including the alphas?” Avyanna certainly was a little detective in her way, she knew her sudden request for him to come with her home, was not a wise decision, but yet she believed there was no cause for alarm.
If she didn’t still get comfortable with him around after the conversation, she would innocently walk him out of her Kingdom.
“A man my age who doesn’t have ideas about his people, should be decapitated, don’t you think?” He said, emphasizing on the word, ‘decapitate’ and grinning. Avyanna was not sure if the decapitation was a slip of his tongue or a joke, but either ways she chose not to dwell much on it, so she went ahead to hit Theseus with her next question.
“You visit me in my kingdom, knowing fully well that I am an alpha. Now, a man without strength would not attempt so.” Avyanna looked him straight in the eye.
Theseus was going to kill her and her forwardness, would determine how quick he would zap every fiber of life out of her. His smile was just a result of the patience that he exhibited.
“Some people have gone through worse situation than yours, and they bear a pain in their heart that thousands of life times might not be able to heal. I don’t like talking about my family because they are in the past, and the past hurts.” these words of Theseus had deceit and revenge written all over, but Avyanna was too blinded by his beauty, and poise to see it.
They kept talking, but this time not about history, creatures, power, love, family or lineage, but about the present.
The conversation continued for a while and Theseus was satisfied with all the information he heard from her, it was certain she knew nothing about the power she carried, which simply meant she could not make use of it.
Avyanna sat on a chair opposite her parent’s portrait as Theseus stood behind her.
Then, he manipulated her into believing that they were friends and had similarities, in their lives, destiny and path. While Avyanna watched her parents on the large portrait, she wished they never died.
She indulged him in the legacy of her parents. She felt they were the best masters who had ruled the kingdom of Wales. She told him other great stuffs about her dad. She told him the amount of wars that her parents conquered when she was a toddler, and even before she was born.
Avyanna told Theseus how she wished could not live the life of a royal. She told him that she was not scared of whatever that was coming next.
“Life will prepare us for the greatest challenge yet unfought,” Was Theseus’ reply.
“I am ready for it then.” She said in motivation before she told him how pleased she was that her parents, were her parents.
Avyanna talked for thirty minutes before she remembered they were not going to have that conversation.
Theseus was silent and had a constant weak smile pasted on his face although, he boiled with rage. Unknown to Avyanna, Theseus felt insulted when Avy referred to her parents as the best of all masters.
My parents are the best!
Avyanna stood up from the chair and turned to Theseus smiling.
He kept smiling weakly as he imagined how killing her would be, narrating the whole scenario in his head.
He imagined how her brittle fingers would hold his arm as he gripped her throat firmly and squeezed the life out of her. He imagined how she would suddenly feel the cold from his hate and her eyes would burn from his rage. He relished in the thought of her wolf growing weak as he dissolved all of her powers. The clouds would get dark and the royal mansion’s gallery they plied would become cold.
“A penny for your thoughts. You zoned out there for a second.” Avyanna said but Theseus was still thinking about how it would all go.
He would transform into his catastrophic wolf to frighten Avyanna and make her to see through his eyes. She would grow weaker as he magically absorbed her life force. She would see a glimpse of her whole life as she howled and groaned out of pain. She would struggle but it would be of no use for she was no match for him.
“Hello?” Avy clicked her fingers to bring Theseus back in touch with reality.
“You’re going to need a million pennies.” Theseus smiled as he snapped out of his mind.
“What’s a million pennies to a kingdom.” She smiled, “Tell me all of it as you follow me.” Avyanna said, leading Theseus back to her office.
Theseus was not in a hurry to kill her. In fact, he was not just going to kill her, but he was going to collect every single virtue she had in her. He would place her on a table and strangling her harder than the first time. The sky would begin to pour rain and it would also be accompanied by thunder and lightning. Avyanna would be so helpless that she would not be able to move any part of her body apart from her eyes. Her heart would pound slower, and finally. He would place her on the table again, bring out his objects of constructive destruction from his bag and amongst his instruments, would be a black ball and a white ring that he was going to use to trap her wolf; Katie inside of it.
“I am thinking of death. Is that weird?” Theseus said as they both entered her office.
“Not at all.” Avyanna replied as she backed Theseus to move to where she would sit. “Why death?” Avyanna saw nothing to it, little did she know that it was Theseus cue to end her life.
“Because it is all that has been on my mind.” Theseus moved closer to Avyanna and took out his humongous claws, ready to plunge it into her flesh, then her soul.
“That is crazy.” Avyanna giggled, still backing Theseus.
“Not anymore.” Theseus snarled.
Just as he was about to slice and dice the Luna, the door to her office flung open and Baron ran in.
“Avyanna, please hear me out.”
