CHAPTER 80

CHAPTER EIGHTY
“If it isn’t the latest couple in the realm.” Nancy mocked as she emerged from the shadows.
Avyanna and Baron maintained their battle stance for a while, saying nothing. They just stood and watched Nancy walk around them in circles.
“Long time my dear friend. It is good to see you.” Nancy said letting out a chuckle.
She then stopped moving in circles and moved forward to them, standing directly opposite Baron. She had the feeling that Baron wouldn’t resist accompanying Avyanna. Since the pair seldom went anywhere without the other, it was apparent that Ericson would be Avyanna’s body guard, so that was not something that took Nancy aback.
Matter of fact, Nancy was hoping they would be together so her plan would work effectively.
“No one is brainless enough to keep a maniac like you as a friend.” Avyanna resounded.
“Are you sure about that? Your late husband begs to differ.” Nancy chortled.
“Screw you!” Avy hissed at Nancy.
“You always sound too sure. You see that’s the problem I have with you. You don’t think and for obvious reasons you definitely don’t think about. You should try reasoning before you speak maybe it will help you live in the real world, don’t just play out everything in your head and expect it to happen that way.” Nancy mocked Avyanna.
Nancy could perceive a great tension forming just the way she wanted it. Everything was going according to plan.
“Now listen to me you prune!” Avyanna began, “If you think you are a professional in causing havoc, then this would not be a brag when I ask you to go make some proper research on who I am, and what I stand for.”
Baron nodded at the Luna’s display of ferocity and smirked darkly as she went on, “I will go down to hell and fetch you a bowl of fire to drink, if that’s what it takes for me to show your dumb ass that I am not and will never be ready to play stupid games with you. Now, where is Raina?”
“Where is my sister?” Baron snarled.
“Release her to me and we can all avoid what’s about to come next.” Avy’s tone was drenched in terror.
“No, no. Uh-uh. You don’t get to decide what’s about to come next you little missy, and if you feel that I came all the way down here to perform for you, then you have a bigger research to do.” Nancy resumed circling around the couple who were heating up in anger. Nancy just kept tipping toes from one end to the other, maintaining an annoying calm which made Avy and Baron more infuriated.
“I don’t know if your soul requires some limbo, but I am not even going to offer that to a cruel, wicked and loose bitch like you.” Avyanna was mad with rage, because on a regular day, she wouldn’t have cussed out that much. But the circumstances were different, Rania’s life was at stake.
“Avocado, or aloe-Vera or whatever name you bear, call me a bitch one last time and see me slit your throat.”
“You would not dare! I will strangle you, before you get that chance.” Avyanna was not sure of how much more bullshit she could take, especially with Nancy constantly serving it. Avy was so ready for Nancy, she didn’t care if they got into a combat.
She didn’t realize it yet but she was already walking down to Nancy, fuming sheer rage. But her attempt to attack was hindered by Baron when he immediately stood in front of her.
Baron was not ready to start a battle if he was not sure that his sister was safe. He believed that the wisest thing to do was to request for his sister and leave the fight for another day.
He was not afraid, but still he applied wisdom. He evaluated everything and he for one knew Nancy would not involve herself in a fight so open without any cover. Baron deduced that if Nancy was able to showcase such effrontery, then it meant that she had a sure way out. It was already obvious to Baron that Nancy knew that he would be coming with Avyanna.
Using all the information that he had heard about the Omega, he knew that she was a skilled manipulator who drilled her way into the great kingdom of Wales. Baron knew she would make sure to take care of her life, before taking charge of any other person’s life.
Baron then whispered to Nancy, “If this bitch had the courage to kidnap my sister, and then still turn up to this parley alone, that means she has some serious alliance with a cult, a pack or some set of creatures.”
“I hope it’s not a lover’s quarrel.” Nancy giggled.
“She is not worth your anger, believe me.’’ He held her left arm, pulling her back and grabbing her softly by her waist as he whispered the words to Avyanna.
Nancy laughed, and imitated Baron mockingly.
“Finally, our Romeo… or should I call you Valentine?” Nancy gestured at Baron who snarled inaudibly, “You know, I have been wondering why you remained so quiet all night and I am very pleased to finally see you move. Even if I did not hear you speak, I know for sure by your gestures that you have just saved your love from being killed.”
“One more fucking word from you!” Avy snarled.
“Avyanna, you have been mating with a man that utilizes his brain properly, yet I wonder why he has not passed his influence on you or is the sex not pleasurable enough for deposition? Well, I would not like to trespass, so now let me talk to your lover boy for a while.”
In that moment, Baron felt like ripping Nancy’s head into shreds, but that would be going against his own advice. He still believed they would get her but on a latter day; a day she would least expect.
“Nancy you have spoken enough for one night, get me my sister and we will be on our way. It’s getting really dark out here.” Baron’s voice was piercing, and Nancy was terrified by him, but she shook off the feeling and continued being as annoying as ever.
“You are not a sacred wolf, I am sure.” Nancy said.
“Your informant gave a little glimpse of near accuracy, I see. Just handover my sister!”
“I don’t have plans of keeping her, she is useless to me.” Nancy stopped walking and peered intensely into their soul.
“Hey wide mouth I for one don’t mind being brusque to you.” Avyanna called out to Nancy. At that point in time, Avy had a blood rage she was not sure she could control if she saw Nancy for the next thirty minutes. It was different when Ericson was involved, but not with an innocent child’s life at risk.
“How low can this bitch go?” Avyanna thought to herself.
“Well I have had enough laughter for one night. You remember the old myth that says; too much laugh for a day can incur sorrow? I am nothing like you Avyanna. I think, but you don’t. The child is inside that sake behind that conglomerate, get her before I change my mind.”
Avyanna and Baron ran behind to see if the Omega was true to her words, and they were flabbergasted to see she was.
They un-sacked, and untied Rania. Rania looked weak and was unable to stand by herself, but Avyanna assisted her to walk.
Nancy was not done with her mission. All through the conversation, she made several assessments on the couple. She observed that transparency was missing and that was a good way to separate Avyanna from Barons watch and set her to be by herself.
The trio was about to depart from Nancy before she called out, “You are all leaving without saying thank you?”
“Nancy, I know you fully did not grow, but stay in your shell. I have had enough for one night. We have had enough for one night.” Avyanna retorted.
Avyanna making reference to Nancy’s childhood appeared to be the only word that finally got to Nancy.
In turn, Nancy decided to make her reply a more painful one. It was the perfect time for her to say the true reason why she gathered them together, “Oh, I see, Avy, that’s the reason you are having sex with the same man that killed Ericson.”
The wood went silent and not a sound could be heard. The truth was out, yet Avyanna was not ready to face it.
She turned slowly to Baron, "what's she talking about?"then back to Nancy.
“Oops… You didn’t know did you?” Nancy
“Nice try Nancy. Just when I thought you couldn’t stoop so low.”
“Even if Eric chose me over you. That is not enough reason to fuck the same guy that killed him. There are many other Alphas around, no need to act like a hoe, am I not right Baron?”
Baron was silent. He just held his almost unconscious sister and stood still, unable to utter a sentence in his defense.
“That’s not true. Shut up! you are trying to make a rebuttal, and Baron cannot do that,” she looked at Baron, “right?” Avyanna stared at Baron, waiting for him to rebuke Nancy for what she had just said, but she was not seeing that from him, rather Baron went all gloomy and an unprecedented face of remorse took over his entire countenance.
Baron could not bear the shock that somebody like Nancy had such an information, but he was able to conceal it from Avyanna… almost conceal it.
“Is this true Baron?”
Baron’s lips parted but the words his heart spoke could not leave his mouth. Upon seeing this, Avyanna was wrecked within. Nancy was right and even Avyanna could not deny herself that truth again.
“Baron why are you saying nothing?” The tears began flowing. Her heart was wrecked.
Baron was finally able to mutter a word, “Avyanna…”
“Say something Baron! Tell me she is lying.” Avy yelled.
“I’m afraid I speak the truth honey.” Nancy kept teasing.
Avyanna staggered for bit.
“Avyanna…” Baron gestured to move towards her.
“Don’t come any closer.” Avyanna held her paws up, signaling Baron not to move any closer. Her eyes glowed yellow as her sadness was mixed with anger.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you Baron. She really seems pissed. You wouldn’t want her to bring out that wolf in her.” Nancy giggled.
Avyanna walked away slowly finding her way through the forest.
Baron stood still, unable to bring himself to go after Avy; especially with Rania in his arms.
Baron stared angrily at Nancy. “How dare you!” He wished he just killed Nancy when Avyanna wanted to.
“You know what’s funny Baron?”
“What?”
“I wasn’t sure that it was you who killed Ericson until right now. I was thinking to myself, who could have killed Ericson.” Nancy smiled darkly, “It wasn’t me. Neither was it Alpha Thomas, and I couldn’t think of anyone else except you.”
Baron felt pain. So, it was all based on some guts! she was not even sure! why did I not rebuke her the minute she said it.
Nancy disappeared into the shadows when she was done wreaking the havoc that she wanted to. She was gunning to weaken Avyanna and her alliance and she was successful.
“See you around Baron!” Her cackle echoed through the damp forest.
***
Baron made his way out of the woods with his sister and returned to his kingdom to find Avyanna gone with her people, he was told that she had returned to her kingdom.
Avyanna had not spared a minute before she left the Lycan territory with all her people.
When she returned to her kingdom, she cried her eyes and heart out, asking herself, “How can the man I have grown to love be something I never expected?”
She blamed herself for letting her heart get the best of her. She had no doubt about how safe and pleasing the moments she spent with Baron were, but that act of his made Avyanna wonder if she knew the man she had being fucking, and that got her really scared.
One thing she learnt in her second life was not to trust anyone.
