CHAPTER 38

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT
The dress was designed specifically for Avyanna; the way it hung comfortably in the wardrobe with a flower attached to it. Avyanna could tell it was the familiar Fergus royal family treatment. The flower was a white rose flower and it had a letter attached to it. This time around, it wasn't from Baron but from his sisters. The letter read: "You're going to look extra stunning in this. We can't wait to see you at the party. From Gina and Rania (mostly Rania)".
Avyanna chuckled silently at the last words. She could hear Rania's sweet voice speaking in her ear as she read the letter. Then Avy went ahead to admire the dress in front of her.
"Why would they go through all this for just a party." Avyanna smiled as she admires the long flowing white dress. It was sleeveless and it seemed like a dress that would expose a large part of her cleavage. The body-fitted beauty of a dress had a subtle glittery design around the waist and the rest of the gown flowed long.
She gleefully took the dress out of the closet and put it on slowly and carefully, like she was putting on an eggshell that she didn't want to crack. Then she stood in front of the mirror to admire herself.
The dress didn't expose as much cleavage as she thought it would. It clasped her body perfectly, bringing out her not so conspicuous hourglass figure. She flexed her hips as she stood before the mirror with a happy grin on her face. The gown flowed effortlessly down to her feet.
"What would go with this?" Avyanna thought to herself then she turned to look through her belongings before she saw an already kept shoe in the wardrobe. Obviously from Gina and Rania (mostly Rania) because it perfectly matched the white long-flowing gown. It was a black high-heel shoe with glittery white design to compliment the gown. Avyanna wasn't one to obsessed over herself but the dress she wore changed that. She just found it so hard to stop looking at the mirror and trying different poses in front of it.
By the time, she was satisfied with admiring herself in the mirror, she left the room and headed towards the large hall beside the royal house, where the welcoming party was holding.
The hall had the different factions of the lycans mingling as they waited for Avy.
"Where is she?" Gina asked Rania nervously.
"Probably in her room." Rania seemed unbothered but she wasn't; she was just so certain that Avyanna was on the way.
"Do you think she saw the dress?" Gina agitated.
"Of course she has." Gina smiled proudly.
"What if she doesn't open up her wardrobe? I told you we could have just put the cloth on her bed. That way we would be sure that she would see it. Also did you drop the flower and write the letter I told you to write?" Gina was rambling with a sweaty nose.
"Hey, hey, hey, Big sis, Come on now, you're embarrassing me. Calm down." Rania calmed Gina down, holding her arm and stroking her back gently, "She has definitely seen the cloth we dropped for her. Remember she has to open her wardrobe to even wear any cloth to this party."
"You're right. You're right." Gina said inhaling and exhaling slowly to pacify her tense mood.
"Good. Good. And I definitely wrote the letter and attached it to the flower." Rania said with a devious smirk.
"What if..." Gina wanted to begin another round if subtle panic but Rania shushed her.
"Shhh. I'm one hundred percent sure that Avyanna is here." Rania smiled looking towards the main entrance.
"You don't know that." Gina breathed.
"Then tell me why I'm looking at her walking towards us in the very fantastic dress that we left in her wardrobe?" Rania's lips curved upwards and her cheeks shone in delight, as her face lit up in mere exhilaration as she looked at Avyanna walking slowly towards them.
Avyanna was shy when she stepped foot into the hall because a lot of eyes were on her. She could read admiration and subtle jealousy from the throng of lycans gathered to welcome her. She walked briskly towards Gina and Rania trying to take attention away from herself.
"You made it! Oh my days! Thank the moon goddess for your sake!" Gina exclaimed in exasperation as she hugged Avyanna.
"I see you got my ... I mean, our presents." Gina smiled with her hands behind her back.
"Yes. Thank you so much Rania. I love it so much. Especially the flowers; they smell so nice." Avyanna expressed immense gratefulness towards Rania, totally disregarding Gina.
"Hey, what about me?" Gina asked with a nervous chuckle, "How come she gets all the praise? I practically put everything together."
"Yeah, but it was mostly Rania. Thank you though Gina." Avyanna hugged Gina thankfully.
As Avy hugged Gina, Gina looked at Rania and mouthed inaudibly, "What the hell did you do?"
Rania shrugged with a wicked smile and raised her eyebrows consecutively.
"You little shit." Gina mouthed again. Avyanna ended the hug and Gina returned composure to her normal smiling self but continued to bear the sister-to-sister animosity towards cunning Rania.
"Wow, this party is looking nice and classy. So many people already."
"I know right." Rania smiled.
The hall was not really adorned with a lot of things. It just had gold plated tables and furniture, and the lycans dressed classy, regardless of their denominations. There was not a single chair in sight, unless the three long stools at the far end of the hall that were there because of the mini-bar that Gina set up. The people stood and held a glass of champagne as the initial part of the party went on.
The population in the hall was not all the Lycans in the territory, because not a lot of people cared to see the Luna of Wales. Although there were a lot of people in the hall, they were not up to a quarter of the total Lycan population.
Just as Avyanna shared smiles with Gina and Rania, the hall went silent. The footsteps of Baron walking into the hall could be heard echoing through the hall as he took the spotlight.
"This evening, we welcome a Werewolf in our midst. The Luna of Wales." Baron raised a glass towards Avyanna's direction. Then he smiled and sipped from the glass.
'Ugh, first he ignores me and now this. I wonder what he is up to.' Avy thought to herself.
"I know some of you might be wondering why she is here. Well, think no more, she is here to offer opportunities that would have been beneficial if our ancestors adopted it." Baron continued.
"Opportunities like what?" A male voice from the crowd spoke out of turn.
Baron was pissed but he suppressed his anger with a smile and said, "You will find out soon, enough. In the meantime, if you see her please do make her feel at home. Now let's party!" Baron was so stiff, it was obvious that he wasn't ised to doing stuffs of that nature.
Speaking at occasions was never his thing, neither was introducing them in an interesting manner. He didn't want to introduce the Luna but he didn't have a choice. Steve was on a mission, and his sisters swore not to. They wanted to have fun watching him do it.
"You invited her here, so you introduce her during the party." Rania had replied when Baron asked them to. When he saw how adamant they were in their decision, he decided to do it, for the Luna's sake.
For a moment, his gaze collided with that of Avyanna's and they could feel a gap between them, regardless of the moment they shared. Baron had his reasons for disregarding her presence earlier that morning, and Avy, who was oblivious of the reason behind the Lycan Alpha's sudden attitude, made up her mind to not engage him in a conversation until he was ready.
The crowd dispersed and a large percentage of them walked towards Avyanna to get familiar. She met different characters of Lycans but none intrigued her as much as the two ladies that bore a subtle animosity towards her.
They greeted with a fake smile, then one of them asked, "What opportunities could you possibly offer us Lycans?"
"Well, didn't you hear the Alpha? You will find out soon enough." Avyanna returned the fake smile that she received with a stern look.
"Oh, I had no idea the Alpha speaks for you. Have you no freewill to speak independently?" The second lady asked. Her subtle mockery, grew conspicuous as the seconds passed.
"Fear not, when the opportunity arrives you won't have to be such a bitch secretly. The world will know. Fuck off Evie!" Gina cut in, raging at the ladies. "I hate bullies!" Gina scoffed inaudibly. The ladies scurried away in fear, after their princess scolded them. "Pay no mind to them, come on, let's socialize well." Gina led Avy away from her static position. Rania was already moving around the party, having fun and eating her favorite meals from the buffet.
Gina turned and saw Rania then she said to Avy, "Have fun Avy, I need to put my sister in check for some time. I trust you will be safe." Gina rushed away from Avy, leaving her alone to navigate the halls.
The next characters that intrigued Avyanna were the shirtless men that approached her, jiggling their muscular chest, causing it to ripple.
"Hey Werewolf." The one of them that had a properly chiseled jaw spoke.
Avyanna couldn't deny being excited by the sight. She suppressed her smile into a light smirk and just said, "Hey".
"Wanna get a load of this? Don't be shy, you can touch it." Another with recently-shaved beards spoke.
"Uh uh." Avyanna smiled. Just as she was about to lift her hands to push the dude away, she felt a tight grip on her wrist.
The way she was held felt familiar; so rough, yet welcoming.
Baron!
'What the hell could he want?!'
