Chapter 105

“WHAT!” Phoebe screams as she stands suddenly from the table and glares at Helios and Athena.
“Athena is pregnant, why you got a problem with that Phoebe?” Bride asks as she glares at the other goddess.
“What, I mean no. It’s just only been a few days and gods and goddesses can’t get pregnant so I am just curious what she did. I mean isn’t that against the law?” Phoebe rushes to say.
“No, it isn’t against the law. There has been no pure born gods or goddesses since me and that was a century ago. This is a miracle.” Archon says as he gets up to congratulate Helios and Athena.
“I am going to be an uncle” Archon says as he hugs Helios and then delicately embraces Athena.
“Yes you are, though we have been to the medics and Aibelle here says that she is completely healthy and that she will make an appearance when she is ready. As goddesses aren’t normally pregnant and a gestation for a human is nine months and for supers it varies, we will just have to wait and see what happens but we are so excited” Athena says as giggles as Athan jumps to his feet and pushes Archon out of the way.
“I will be her best uncle though” Athan says as he puffs out his chest.
“Yes, Athan you can be her protector” Helios says as he pats Athan on the back.
“What about me?” Erebus mutters as he also comes to give Athena and Helios a hug.
“You will also be her protector” Helios says before looking at Lycus, and smiling.
“Archon we would like you to be her god father and Aibelle you her god mother” Athena says as she smiles at them all.
“What? That makes no sense. Shakti is going to be Archon’s husband and our Queen. It is a great insult not to let her be the godmother. Are you sure you aren’t being intentionally cruel?” Phoebe yells at Athena.
“I am sure that it is meant no disrespect but Aibelle has been Athena’s closest friend since childhood of course they would want to have Aibelle be the godmother. Stop talking nonsense” Hekate growls as she gives Phoebe a dark look.
“Just stop talking” Bride mutters
“Stop breathing would be better” Athan mutters to Bride they both snicker before Shakti shouts.
“STOP IT! Archon I don’t think that it is appropriate for you to be the godfather of a child that has no relation to you and what happens if we are blessed with having a child of our own how would you explain that you are a father to another. No, it simply isn’t the right thing” Shakti says as she stands shakingly to her feet.
“What bull” Lycus mumbles as he stares at Shakti.
“So for your argument you don’t want Archon to be a godfather to a goddess as you could have children of your own” Erebus asks while raising one eyebrow.
“Yes” Shakti says placing her hands on her hips.
“Mm, what a joke” Hekate mutters under her breath as the others start silently laughing.
“Did she not do her classes?” Aibelle asks
“No” Daimon mutters shaking his head at Shakti.
“Why are you laughing” Shakti shouts.
“Because there will be no children for us here in the heavenly realm. Only one couple is blessed with this and it seems that Helios and Athena were the lucky ones, until we make it to super realm to live out our days” Archon says while looking at Shakti.
“You mean that not only did Helios and Athena steal my wedding day they have now also stolen my chance to have a natural god or goddess” Shakti shouts as she turns and storms away.
Archon, goes to follow her but is stopped by Hekate.
“Leave her, she is not worthy of this so don’t try and make her feel better for something that was never meant to be” Hekate says sadly.
“She is my mate” Archon says hesitantly.
“Is she?” Bride asks
“What?” Archon replies
“Is Shakti really your mate?” Bride asks.
“Well, yes of course” Archon replies back.
“there is no ‘of course’” Bride says as she turns and heads after Athena and Aibelle as they had turned to leave the dining hall during Shakti’s rant.
“She is my fated mate” Archon says sadly.
“What are we going to do?” Lycus asks Helios as they talk about getting Helios and Athena’s temple ready for the possible arrival of their baby girl.
“I am going to go and check on Shakti” Archon says as he bids farewell and wishes Helios a congratulations again as he turns to follow Shakti.
Shakti
“Why isn’t the potion working?” Shakti growls at Phoebe
“I don’t know, I put so much in the food and the alter room that they should have fallen in love with you immediately but for some reason it hasn’t worked. I can try again make it stronger maybe and drug the drinks and food. I could also make sure that I can get the water well and put the potion into that as well. But it needs to be constant to make this illusion last. I am afraid that Aibelle being here may sway Archon if he starts to develop feelings for her. We need to act now” Phoebe mutters as she paces back and forth.
“You promised me that this was going to work and that it would be easy but this is anything but easy. Archon and the others are fighting me at every opportunity why can’t you just make it permanent?” Shakti growls as she looks at Phoebe with hate.
“The only option left is injecting Archon with a full concentration of potion. But that is dangerous” Phoebe mutters as she turns towards the hall as the sound of footsteps coming towards them.
“Get me the injection, I will do it” Shakti says angrily as she glares at Phoebe.
“I think you just need to rest Shakti” Phoebe says
“I will rest when….” But Shakti but is cut off as the door opens and Archon walks in.
“Why are you acting like a child?” Archon asks as he walks into the lounge with Phoebe and Shakti.
“I’m not acting like a child. I am hurt and you don’t seem to care. By giving Helios and Athena the permission to marry they have taken so much from me, from us. It isn’t fair” Shakti says sullenly.
“They took nothing, and quite frankly I am angry that you just caused such a scene. Do you know what a blessing this is going to be and all you can do is think about yourself” Archon snaps at Shakti.
“Archon” Shakti says with a sad trembling voice.
“WHAT! You are being selfish and I am so disappointed that on the way here I have considered not continuing this joke.” Archon says as he continues to yell at Shakti. Phoebe watches from behind as Archon continues to yell and rant and rave regarding the issues that Shakti has caused. As he continues to get angrier and angrier Phoebe sneaks up behind him and jams the needle into the side of his neck and presses the plunger dosing Archon with a full concentrated dose of the potion.
“YOU!” Archon yells before passing out.
