Chapter 79

Tito, Aibelle and Lycus
“Well, this is nice. NOT!” Aibelle mutters as she continues to shake. Unfortunately, they had woken to a complete snowstorm and little to know protection. Tito tried to shift into a wolf as soon as he realised what the situation was, but he was unable to shift. Looking around he watched as Aibelle slowly started to turn blue.
“We need to find some warm clothes or something. Aibelle is going to be a goddess popsicle if we don’t get warm soon” Tito mutters
“She won’t be harmed” Lycus says as he too looks at Aibelle with concern.
As much as Lycus says that Aibelle would be fine and that she can’t be harmed something about this wasn’t sitting right with him. Ever since Shakti started carrying on about the gods and goddesses were not allowed to be involved something felt off but for the life of him, he couldn’t concentrate on what was missing what was making him worry that something was very wrong.
“How come you and Aibelle came with. I thought you were told that you are not allowed to be here” Tito says as they all continued to walk forward.
“Something... is wrong. Shakti is wrong and we all decided to stick with you and yours as we also want to make sure that our princess is returned, and it is something that Athena would have wanted” Aibelle says as she continues to shake and shudder in the snow.
“Shakti was never like this. I feel that she isn’t fully back to what she was before she was soul sucked.” Lycus responded as he continued to help Aibelle walk.
“This could be a bad thing your queen isn’t going to be happy.” Tito responds as he too moves to the other side of Aibelle trying to bracket her from the snow.
“Sh..Shakti is not r..right” Aibelle stutters.
“We need shelter” Tito grumbles.
They try to pick up speed but Aibelle continues to stumble and shudder as they continue to push forward. As Aibelle stumbles and almost falls for the fifth time in a matter of seconds. Lycus sweeps her off her feet and tucks her close to his body.
“Why are you so cold?” Lycus growls as he looks down at Aibelle with concern.
“S…som..something” Aibelle stutters before completely passing out.
“What? I thought you said that she was fine, and she couldn’t be hurt” Tito growls as he looks at Aibelle with concern.
“She looks like Hennessy doesn’t she?” A female’s voice whispers in the wind.
“Hennessy is going to die here Tito aren’t you going to save her” the females voice continues to taunt me.
“It’s Aibelle she is a goddess she will be fine” Tito yells into the wind.
“Will she? Is she?” the females voice replies with a slight chuckle.
Turning his head he looks as the woman in Lycus’s arms and lets out a long sorrow filled howl. There where Lycus and Aibelle were now lays Hennessy in the freezing snow. Her skin is blue, and she is shaking badly. Bending down Tito reaches out a shaking hand and touches Hennessy frozen skin.
“I will get you out of here Hennessy, I promise” Tito says desperately as he gathers Hennessy into his arms and quickly stands and races off into the distance.
With each step that Tito takes Henessy’s weight becomes more and more as she slowly slips away. Seeing a dark shadow in the distance. Tito steps up his speed and rushes to what looks like a building.
“H…hel..help me T..Tito” Hennessy whispers as her body goes completely limp.
“Hennessy stay with me. Do you hear me, you stay with me” Tito shouts at Hennessy as she is now completely limp.
Bursting through the door of the cabin Tito rushes towards the fire that is burning. Placing Hennessy gently in front of the fire Tito quickly adds more wood to the fire and checks that she is breathing. After he was assured that she was still breathing Tito rushes through the cabin looking for blankets and hot water bottles so that he can get Hennessy’s body temp back to normal.
Tito rushes back into the room and quickly removes Hennessy damp clothing and covers her with blankets after adding more wood to the fire Tito takes the three hot water bottles that he had found and rushes into the kitchen filling the kettle with water he plugs it in only to realise that there is no power
“Of course there is no power, why would life be easy now” Tito grumbles to himself.
Looking through the cupboards Tito find a pot quickly dumping the water from the kettle into the pot Tito rushes back into the main room and places the pot on the hearth of the fireplace. Stoking the fire a little more. Tito gets a towel and moves back to Hennessy and starts to dry her hair while he waits for the water to boil.
“It’s ok Hennessy, we will get you all fixed up and you will be right as rain. Just don’t tell Jameson and London I am fairly sure that they will kill me for letting you get hurt. But that is nothing compared to what I am feeling. I am so sorry that you got caught in the snowstorm. I don’t know where it came from, but we will get you fixed up in no time” Tito says as he continues to dry her hair.
“You will be ok Hennessy, I promise you” Tito continues to mutter reassurances to Hennessy as she continues to lay unconscious in front of the fire.
As Tito returns to the fireplace he checks the pot and sees that the water is just starting to boil. Not wanting to wait any longer Tito takes the pot into the kitchen and fills the three hot water bottles and fills the pot again and put it back on the hearth. Going back into the kitchen Tito grabs the hot water bottles and places on at Hennessy sock covered feet, one wrapped in a tea towel under her arms, and another wrapped in a towel on under her back so that the heat would slowly restore Hennessy’s natural body temperature.
“There you go Hennessy, you will be right as rain in no time” Tito says as he moves closer to Hennessy as she stares at the fireplace.
“You know you would have loved being a wolf, the cold wouldn’t have bothered you at all” Tito says into the room. Just as he reaches forward to check Hennessy’s temperature again the front door burst open and in rushes London, Jameson and Tennessee.
“What the hell have you done to Essy?” London barks as she races to her sister on the floor.
“I knew that you couldn’t be trusted. Just like Skky always out for your own purpose” Jameson snarls as he glares at Tito as he too rushes to be with Hennessy.
“Guess we know who we should have killed after we killed Skky. Fucking wolves are not to be trusted” Tennessee growls as he stares at Tito.
“I didn’t hurt her; I don’t know how she ended up here. I woke up outside and Hennessy was laying on the ground. I got her to safety as soon as possible” Tito says pleadingly but his siblings don’t seem to hear him. As Tito pushes himself to standing position. His whole world tilts as London starts screaming.
“She’s not breathing” London screams as she commences CPR.
“Jameson quickly help me” London begs as she continues to revive Hennessy.
“You killed her Tito, are you happy now. You killed our little sister” Tennessee snaps as he races towards Tito. Just as Tennessee reaches his hand back Tito’s head snaps forward from a forceful blow to the back of his head.
As Tito straightens, he turns trying to find the source of what hits him but what he sees instead is Lycus standing there with a very pissed of Aibelle.
“What?” Tito asks as he spins his body looking around the room.
“You undressed me” Aibelle shouts.
“No, Hennessy was dying” Tito responds shakily.
“Hennessy died” Tito cries out.
