Chapter 22
“Nix baby girl, you need to open those eyes and talk to me. Come on. You have to wake up now, you're scaring me.” Athan calls as he cradles Nix within his arms.
“Nix” Tito muttered with tears in his voice.
“We need to get her out of here and get her to a medical clinic,” Tennessee growls as he stands beside Nix and Athan.
“Seven, do you know what is wrong with her?” Tito asks as he looks at Seven and Nix.
As Daimon enters the room, he takes in the sobbing Archon holding what one would assume would be the body of Aibelle’s, but there was nobody, while Athan cradles an unconscious Nix as Dom, Tito, London, Landon and Jameson all quietly crying as well.
“Everyone that needed transporting has been transported and has been moved to the spelled cells within the cave. They are all kept separate so that no one can get their stories aligned.” Daimon mutters as he takes in the mood within the room.
“Aibelle has gone. She and her super have been separated and her other has passed. Nix won’t wake up and Seven seems to know what is wrong but isn’t saying” Hekate tell Daimon with a sad smirk.
“Let’s get out of here. We need to get some medical attention for Nix” Daimon says as he walks towards Archon and touches him on the shoulder.
“OK, let's go buddy”, Daimon says quietly and teleports him to the cave and back into the room that they left just hours ago.
The others pop in behind Daimon and Archon as medical personnel race into the room. They take one look at a sobbing Archon and then an unconscious Nix and waste no time leaping into action.
They talk softly to Archon, to get him to relax and go to sleep. As have the personnel attend to Archon, the other half race around after Athan and Nix trying to get him to release her so that they can get her cleaned up and find out what is going on.
Athan growls several times but doesn’t put up too much of a fight when an elder medical officer tells him that he is hurting Nix by not letting him help her. Athan quickly but hesitantly places her on the bed so that they can do what they need to do.
“There are some minor injuries and there is quite a lot of bruising, but I can’t see too much damage. It could be that the other was hurt more and Nix is going into hibernation to make sure that the other is well taken care of. But let me run some more tests.” The medical officer calls as he races around the room.
“There is something else in there” Seven mutters as she looks at Nix.
Everyone turns towards Seven and it was Tito that loses his cool when he suddenly shifts and jumps at Seven.
“Shut up” Tennessee yells as he too takes a step towards Seven.
“Seven, what do you mean that there is something else in there?” London asks as Hekate moves closer to Nix.
“Something that isn’t supposed to be there is there” Seven responds while eating another pork rind.
“Dog down”. Seven barks at Tito and continues to eat while staring at Nix.
“Everyone go get cleaned up and get something to eat” The Medical Officer calls and orders them around while he continues to treat Nix.
“What do you think that Seven meant when she said that there was something in there”
“I am more worried about Archon.”
“What did Aibelle mean about its his… his what?”
“It’s his parents, Erebus, and I believe that it is his parents behind everything that is happening. Think about it. Since he was born, they knew that he was going to take over and that he would have to move back to the super realm and live as supers. But they aren’t special their hell they already had a King and Queen have, so when a retired King and Queen from another realm comes, they are just like everyone else. Sure, they are a little more important than your day-to-day supers, but not by much. They are just plebs in a society that they use to control. You can’t tell me that. That wouldn’t piss you off.
Athan heard from the Horde King that the old King and Queen had a dinner party with the Queen and other high ranking officials and at the dinner it was clear that the two Queen’s didn’t get along and the only thing that they agreed with was getting rid of useless supers.
So, fast forward to supers going missing and others dying and all the trouble that Archon had not to mention that all the trouble that Archon and Aibelle had when they officially took over. I mean think about it. Two centuries before Archon took over the King and the Queen placed the oracles as advisers, why? Why put something in place that didn’t need to be and that was running perfectly well before hand? Its strange and more than strange that when the King and the Queen retire and were escorted from the realm not two hours after they departed, we were called to endless issues with the supers. Meaning we were running around trying to sort out all their shit that we didn’t realise that their shit was shit that the King and the Queen actually caused.” Bride says
“If what you are saying is true that means that they are responsible for the death of Aibelle. They are responsible for the death of Helios, Athena and countless others. How the hell are we going to tell Archon that his parents killed his fated mate”, Lycus growls as he looks at the others.
As they all look at one another, the reality of what they are going to have to do next hits hard. Not just because they have to tell their friend that his fated mate died but because they have to explain that his parents are the ones that have killed his fated mate along with several of his close friends. Also, they couldn’t give a reason why.
“So who is going to tell him” Athan asks,
“I don’t know, but he needs to know, and he needs to know sooner rather than later”, Lycus mutters.
“You won’t need to tell me anything because you all don’t know how to be fucking quiet.” Archon mutters from the doorway.
