Chapter 53
Hennessy is family a blessing and a cruse?
“Shakti?” her husband’s deep dark voice behind me. I barely have time to react before hubby has swept me up into his arms and is squeezing the life out of me.
“Shakti, is it really you?” Archon mutters giving me another tight squeeze, it only takes another second before I am engulfed into a massive group hug.
“Aww, I want a hug” Tennessee says before he rushes in to hug me with the group as well. I can hear the others muttering behind me. I try not to laugh but there has always been something about Tennessee that make you want to smile.
“Get off you baboon” Bride says whilst smacking Tennessee on the back of the head.
“Aww, it’s a hug with love taps, harder you can do it goddess” Tennessee says back with a sing song voice.
“Is he always like this?” Caleb asks the group from behind us
“Yes”
“Absolutely”
“He doesn’t change”
“Attention whore”
“He is adorably different.
“Weird”
“Strange as Fuck”
I watch as everyone bar my siblings, the prince and the beta, well Tennessee jumped in there but he is strange like that, they all hug the new woman that popped up in front of us.
“Mother” I hear Nix say in the back of my mind. “Did you know?” I ask Nix in my mind?
“No” Nix sighs as she continues to stare through my eyes. Athena is watching up whilst hugging the new woman.
As Athena lets the group hug go, she moves towards us and I take a step back not wanting to be to close.
“Yes child, I am your mother. You were taken from me during Phoebe’s plot for revenge. In that battle your father died trying to protect you and myself, Shakti was taken and her spirit removed. It was many years before I realised that I was missing you. I always knew that I was missing something but it was only after your accident when I felt Phoenix that I realised that the thing that I am missing the most was you and my fated mate” Athena says as tears leaked down her face.
“So, you didn’t know that I was missing exactly, but you were there when I went through several of my deaths and re-births and you did nothing” Nix says with a shaky voice.
“I am sorry child” Athena mutters whilst trying to move closer. The other people in the room are now looking at us and I can see that the Sib’s are not happy that this is happening, I am not surprised when Jameson walks up and stands in-between me and Athena, Athena frowns but makes no other display that she is annoyed and disappointed with Jameson.
I reach out and touch his back. I can feel Jameson relax slightly. My hand is only on his back for a few seconds when Caleb comes over and removes my hand from Jameson and hold on to not letting me remove it.
“Give my hand back” I whisper yell at Caleb.
“NO!” Caleb whispers back to me with a smile on his face.
“LET. ME. GO. NOW!” I whisper yell whilst still trying to pull my hand from his tight grip. I look up at Caleb and see that he is smiling and looking proud. “Nix a little help” I ask within my head. “Can’t that stupid shadow man is in my SPACE!” Nix shouts and shoots a fire ball at the shadow, I hear the echo of his laughing as well as fell the light shaking of Caleb’s body.
“Prince let me go or I will not be held responsible” I mutter
“Bring it firecracker, I am your mate and I have the only right to touch you” Caleb says while continuing to smile at me.
“Nix, if you please” I ask.
“Gladly, little one” Nix responds.
I can’t see as the burst of fire is so bright, I hear Tennessee squeal like a girl and I watch as Jameson quickly drops, stops and rolls but Caleb pulls his hand from me and looks at me like I am psycho. I smile but keep the flames as I turn to the gods and goddesses, they all have smiles on their faces as well. But it is Erebus I watch with a careful eye as he walks up to Caleb and whispers something in his ear. Caleb looks at me shocked and then walks towards me.
“Put the flames out Hen” Tennessee calls. As I look up, I see him and Athan have climbed the wall trying to stay out of the fire.
As Caleb continues to walk towards me, he smiles and then releases some of his magic as his magic touches my fire my flames turn from orange, purple and red to blues and whites. I watch on in shock as Caleb is covered in what I could only call my fire while I am left with a colder version.
“Well, that is an interesting development” I hear someone say I am still too stunned to say anything as I continue to stare at my flames.
“Only true mates can touch the flame and as Caleb is Nix and Hennessy’s true mate it would stand to reason that he is the only one that can touch the flame.” Erebus says.
“But why is she blue?” London asks as she was closer to us.
“Her flame is the same as before but blue this means that she has a freezing flame so instead of being burnt….” Hekate says but is cut off by Tennessee
“She can now freeze people to death the same as burning them. Cool Hen do you want to go outside and try this out?” Tennessee asks as he climbs down from his hiding spot and walks towards me and touches my flame.
Tennessee screams as his hand turns to ice, he turns and then punches Caleb across the face turning his once frozen hand back to normal.
“OOOh fun” Tennessee says and does it again.
“I want to try” Tito says as he rushes over to us and does the same thing as Tennessee.
After about the fifth punch from Tito and Tennessee, Jameson and Dom join and London stands their laughing at the antics.
When Caleb shouts enough and a big fireball burst from his mouth Tennessee screams and runs back up the wall to his hiding place. Athan shakes his head while the other gods and goddess’s smile.
“Idiot”
