Chapter 11

London
Two days, two days with nothing but nature, nothing but the sunshine on my face, the wind blowing through my hair and tickle of the grass on my bare feet. Life is good, hell life is great at this rate. Picking up my mobile phone and looking at the screen I see so many missed phone calls and text messages from Tennessee and Tito. Groaning at the crap that is about to become my day I take a deep breath and dialling first Tito as the head of our dysfunctional family he is always the go too no matter what.
As I dial Tito I wait while it ringing on the other end seems to never end. “Come on Tito you called me no less than three hundred times and left numerous voice messages surely you can pick the phone up” I say as I listen to the ringing.
“Hello. you have reached Alpha Tito’s phone from the Alpha Pack how may I help you?” A man’s voice says on the other end.
“This is his friend London, he called me. I am just returning his calls” I say while looking out the window. As I wait for the man to get Tito on the phone. The dark clouds in the distance trouble me and so does the sudden wind that is picking up.
“Tito” Tito says
“What’s up?” I say
“Hennessy is missing and its bad there was blood everywhere which we covered up. But we can’t find Hennessy there is nothing. No scent to trail. Tennessee is looking as well but we need to find her if she is badly hurt and she goes through the fire than she may or not wake up. Hell, she may or may not wake up different.” Tito yells toward the end.
“There is bad weather approaching” I say. I don’t need to tell him anything else and I can hear the smashing of his office. Every time something happens to Hennessy the bad weather comes. Sometimes it isn’t too bad and other times it will last for an age.
“Locate her London. I have Jameson calling” Tito snaps and hangs up the phone.
Looking out the window and staring at the dark storm that is fast approaching I know that Hennessy is hurt and scared. The problem being that once she is hurt, she hurts others without knowledge.
Taking a deep breath, I move towards my circle and start my commune. I find Hennessy’s life thread and start the trail.
I watch as she sits in her apartment whilst we are all on the phone with her. I watch her roll her eyes when Tito tells her to come and stay at the pack in the panic room. I giggle, there is one thing that we all love about Hennessy she is sassy as hell.
*“So, what does the loser need help with now?” Skky says*
I watch as the tears gather in Hennessy’s eyes. I wish that we were facetiming so that we could have seen this reaction straight away. It kills me that Skky has made Essy’s life full of pain. The only blessing that we have is that she never remembers once she breaths life.
I stand in the corner and watch as she gathers her things and makes her way out the door and into the car. Take my spot in the passenger seat I watch as she approaches the guards at the south east exit.
*“What are you doing leaving?” The guard at the exit asks.
“Headed to the wolf pack for the pup’s inoculations” I say as I hand over my papers and wait for them to grant me the ability to leave.

“Why now?” Another guard asks.
“Full moon, they are vulnerable right now and this is the best time to give them their shots” I say with little emotion.
“Your fine to go, it says here that you will be gone for the next five days” The first guard says as he returns to my car.
“Yeah, there are over a thousand pups to inoculate so it will take a few days to get through them all. I have a detailed itinerary with me if that would help” I say hoping that he won’t ask.
“No, that is fine I will just note it on your file.” The guard says
“Great thanks, you can also check with Alpha Tito as I work with his pack as well and Demon Tennessee and Harpy Jameson and sometimes with the Black witch Coven, I think the contact there is London” I say with practised ease.
“That’s fine, but wouldn’t working with an assistant help you out?” The empath guard asks.
“Yes, it totally would but I do work with some of their individual kinds as they learn as well so I guess you could say that I have assistants in their individual species” I say.
“Your free to go, make sure that you come through this gate in five days that is when we are rostered back here and we will give you your scan then.” The first guard says. I don’t like the look on his face it’s like he knows something.
“Sure, see you then” I say and I drive off. *
I feel the uncertainty that is pouring off of Essy she is close to giving up, close to handing herself over which makes my heart break. The four of us have done everything we can to keep our vile sister and mother away from Essy but it didn’t always work and because of those times Essy experienced the worst but we were just forever grateful that she never remembered.
Watching as Essy turns us off of mute I watch as she shivers and looks back in the rearview mirror. I turn also to see what she is looking at and curse as I see the guard staring at Essy’s car. A dark cold feeling rushes over me and I shiver just like Essy.
I watch as she fills the car and walk inside to pay. I watch as her aura starts to shift and she becomes uncomfortable. Make a move to get out of the car when she starts to walkout behind the man and woman that were in front of her. I watch as her steps slow as she passes them like she is trying to hear what they are saying. As she reaches the car, she stalls half in and half out the car.
*“The Royals are going door to door this year personally, whoever they are after is in major trouble” the male says.
I gasp as Essy climbs into the car and I sewar that I can hear her heart racing even know she I wasn’t there.
Essy continues to drive looking in the all the mirrors like her life depends on it as the news comes on.
In breaking news, the boarders and exits and entry into the city have now been closed and the scans have begun. This year the Royal Army are helping. The Royals have asked that you all do what is asked and to keep in an orderly fashion.
The Royals have started early to stop the flakes, the ones that try to avoid the scans and checks. I mean who in their right mind would willing do that. We have these measures in place to make sure that there is not issue in our world.
Oh, this just in they are running checks on the roads. There a multiple check points in place as far as 40 miles outside of the city.

I silently beg for Essy to go faster to make our safe haven but I know that isn’t going to happen. I watch as a dark figure comes out of nowhere and stands in the middle of the road. I hear Essy scream as she slams on the breaks hoping to not hit whatever it is but I know that what happens next is exactly what I need. The car slides across the road with the screeching of the brakes seconds before Essy is thrown into the steering wheel and her head bounces off the window.
“Sorry” Essy mumbles before she goes limp.
