Chapter 11 - The Harpy

“Was that a freaking Harpy?” Tish shouts.
“Yes, that was a harpy, and she didn’t seem happy.”
“Have you met a happy harpy?”

“Keep your eyes open. Maybe we can find other memories that are affected just like this one.”
“There is a chance that no two things will be the same. The first was a memory, but what else could be affected?” The wolf growls.
“That is true, Bile was low level, meaning that it picked the easiest thing to attack. But that Harpy just before wasn’t happy, meaning that we may not be looking for a memory like,” The witch says, as they continue to examine each memory they have.”

“Cold, dark and wrong, cold, dark and wrong. Too small, too cold.”

As they all continue to push forward, watching the memories flow through and the demon constantly muttering about how cold, dark, and wrong everything is. Tish turns as a loud whoosh sounds. As Tish turns towards the noise, a gale-force wind hits her right in the face. Tish has a split second to utter a loud squeak before she is blown off her feet and tumbles head over feet.
“TISH!” the witch screams as she races towards Tish, but before she can grab the woman, the witch is blown off her feet as well.
“Damn it harpy” the Wolf yells before chasing after the two women that have been blown away.
“Vampire” The shadow screams as she too chases after Wolf, Tish and the Witch.
“HARPY! Show yourself” The Vampire calls as she scans the area. “Come on Harpy, are you too scared to show yourself? Hmm, are you worried that we are going to boot you out of the little girl’s head as well, just like Bile” The Vampire continues to taunt.

“You can’t kick me out of here any more than you can get that demon to grow up and be productive” The Harpy screeches back.
“Well we will never know if you continue to hide the way you are. It really does speak more about your species than anything else. I mean what type of super hides from a battle? It’s sad really here I am willing to talk and sort things out and you being the harpy that you will hide and cause trouble instead of being a decent super” The Vampire calls into the dark.
“I am a decent super. How dare you say otherwise.” The Harpy screeches back.
“Hmm, sure, whatever you say. Anyway, I am bored and want to eat something, so bye” The vampire yells again before turning away and taking a step away.
“What type of food,” The Harpy says. The Vampire turns using its enhanced vision to see in the darkness.
“Whatever I can steal” The Vampire mutters before turning back around and walking away slowly.
“Food, I like food” The Harpy chirps as she skips close to the vampire.
The Vampire turns and lifts its head towards the harpy but manages to keep an even pace as the Vampire leads the Harpy towards their den.
“I hope the food is fit for a Harpy. What should we do? You create a distraction and I steal or do you just want to take over her body and make her steal and get into trouble? Remember when Six came and hadn’t eaten in weeks, and she was holding an apple that was beautiful red and juicy looking? I wanted it so badly and remember you were fighting with the others, and I took over I snatched that apple straight out of the six’s hands and took a massive bite. It was delicious and juicy. I was so happy. I wanted all of it but you stupid-gooder supers made me lose control and seven was crying and handed it back to her.” The Harpy whines.
“Yes, I remember that you and your stupid little group bitched for a week because we managed to prevent further takeovers.” The Vampire responds with a chuckle.
“Not fair, it was ours. All ours and you stopped us. We are hungry as well, you know”. The Harpy whines again. As the vampire continues to lead the Harpy further into the den, it isn’t until they pass the wolf that the Harpy starts to slow to a stop.
“Hey, there is no food here. Where the hell is my food”? The Harpy screeches as she spins around ready to make a quick escape but is stopped by the wolf as well as the witch, Tish, and the shadow.
“We need to talk,” Tish says as she stares at the Harpy.

“No, food! I want food”, The Harpy screeches again.

“I will get you food as long as you talk” Tish responds.
“Fine, be quick”, The Harpy snarls.
“Why are you causing trouble here? How long have you been here? Would you like to leave to find another other that would have room in their bodies for you?”
“Can I?”
“Yes you can, you just need to give me some information and I can help you leave here for another other that would welcome you”
“What do you want to know?”
“Do you know how you came to be here?”
“Queen, she sold me to the Queen”
“Who sold you?”
“Bird goddess sold me and the Phoenix elder”
“Did you have an other?”
“No, I was meant to but was sold”
“Do you want to leave here?”
“Yes, crowded and bad people here”. The harpy turns to glare at the others standing around them.
“OK, one last question and then you will be safe to leave”
“What”
“Are the group that you hang out with, would they be open to the same offer?”
“Some yes but scavenger wants to stay”
“Why?”
“This was his last chance to have an other but once again he was naughty and wouldn’t do as he was told so he was sold as well and sent here. But as soon as he realised that there were others here to mess with he decided to move in”
“Move in?”
“Yes, he is attached to something here”
“Do you know what it was?”
“No”
“What about the others?”
“I can call them and you can ask?”
“Please do”
As the Harpy lets out a high pitch squeal, the shadows shake and shudder as the call echoes through Seven’s mind.
“You called,” Says a deep dark voice from behind Tish.
