Chapter 17
“Nix explains what Tish said. Have the oracles come to see you?” Archon barks
“Nix” Athan growls.
“Yes, the oracles came to see me just after mom died. They told me about how I can make everything right again that I could bring them back and that we could all live together. The oracle that first visited me was nice and caring she wanted to help me. The chance to do the right thing and bring my parents back meant the world to me. But then another oracle showed a couple of days later and I said that I needed time to think about it. But they kept pushing. After the ceremony for my parents that night I had three come and show me what life would look like if I did it. I have to give my answer in a couple of days.
I was going to agree, to go back in time and make that none of this happened. But then I heard that the elder phoenix was seen leaving the realm. So, I was unsure what I should do.” Nix says looking down at he ground.
“What you didn’t think that you should mention that the oracles have been visiting you. You didn’t think that you should tell me that they asked you to kill yourself.” Archon yells
“Killing yourself is not the answer” Athan yells
“What the hell Nix” Aibelle says quietly.
“I haven’t agreed, I haven’t given my word. It was a thought but I found the elder leaving to be strange and I was coming to ask you this morning if you sanctioned the leave. But from the looks on your faces I can guess the answer.” Nix replies stubbornly.
“Did you all know about this?” Daimon growls out.
“What? What happened? Nix how could you” Tennessee growls out shaking his head whilst looking at Nix.
“Nix I am shocked and horrified how could you not trust me” Tito adds.
“Ok, you idiots stop.” Erebus says with a chuckle.
“I think it is safe to say that they all had a part in going after the elder, so what I want to know is why none of us were told that the elder was leaving the realm. Who gave the elder the go ahead.?” Hekate asks as she continues looking at the kids.
“They know” Bride says as she continues to smile at the kids.
“I would say that they know a lot more than they are letting on” Lycus says with a raised eyebrow.
“I mean we are kids, how much could we know compared to the gods and goddesses of the realm” Dom says while looking wide eye at each god and goddess.
“Indeed” Archon snaps as he turns to look at the remains within the temple.
“Has there been any word about the others? I mean survivors” Archon asks
“No, not at the moment there hasn’t but we all don’t have a creepy child running around with us so I would gather that they are still fighting.” Lycus replies
“Ooh, yummy food time” Seven mumbles as she reaches for a leg and starts chewing. Bride laughs out loud while Daimon and Lycus both wrinkle their noses and turn away from Seven and her snack.
“Eww” Hekate mutters as she looks at Seven.
“At least grab some bread” Landon calls to Seven as he walks over to the bench and grabs some chunks of bread passing it too her.
“There now that is a meal. I mean who hasn’t chewed on a leg from time to time” Landon says with a shrug of his shoulders.
“Yes, who indeed didn’t walk down the street and go mmm that is a great set of legs I will eat that one” Tennessee responds with a deadpan voice.
With a loud laugh Bride continues to bounce from foot to foot laughing at the antics of the group in front of her.
“At least there is never a dull moment with the kids around” Bride calls.
“Indeed” Daimon mutters while giving a quick glance at Seven and the leg that she has nearly devoured.
“I wonder if roasted would take better” Athan says. As everyone turns to look at Athan several shouts sound as they watch Athan chew of a severed leg as well.
“God damn it Athan, act like a god. What the hell are you doing. We don’t eat our kills” Archon mutters.
“We should though it seems like a waste of food” Athan replies while licking his lips and looking through the pile of bodies close by.
“Ooh, this looks good” Athan says as he reaches forward to grab a severed torso when all of a sudden, he is bumped out the way and Seven is there grabbing the torso and greedily taking a bite.
“Hey, I found it first. That is mine. Put it down creepy” Athan says as he approaches Seven.
Seven starts growling and snapping at Athan’s hands as he tries to take the torso back.
“Grrrr” Seven growls louder and louder taking larger swipes at Athan’s hands.
“That is mine. Give it back” Athan whines.
“That’s enough you two. Seven’s share. We don’t steal food” Archon barks as he shakes his head at Athan.
Seven growls again before relenting and snapping the torso in half and throwing the other half a little out of Athan’s reach to a pile of dirt. Seven smirks before going back to eating her side.
“That’s not fair. You ruined it now. Archon I can’t eat mine it has dirt on it” Athan whines with a stamp of his foot.
“Haha” Seven says before sticking out her tongue.
“Sticking that tongue out again I will cut it off” Athan snarls as he walks over to his side and picks it up before walking to the table and washing it off with ambrosia. Athan takes a big bite laughing and pointing at Seven.
“Ambrosia with torso is fucking delicious. Ha-ha yours is shit now” Athan teases he barely has the words out of his mouth before Seven pops in front of him and rips the ambrosia torso out of his hands and takes a large bite.
“Mmm mine” Seven says before taking a bite and popping up into the ceiling while continuing to eat.
“Archon” Athan whines
