Chapter 20
Phoenix
I take a seat on the couch and look at the Sib’s. There were looking for answers and I guess the time had come but seriously why can’t I explain after I have explained it to Hennessy, I don’t like that she will be the last to know but I also don’t think that the Sib’s are going to let this slide.
“Is Hennessy ok” Jameson asks, the worry and concern in his voice makes my heart stutter. Jameson has always been the one to show affection with hugs and praise though Tennessee does the same thing its different with Jameson. After he lost his wife and child, we were his solace, we were his life.
“She is still unconscious; I am not going to lie I am worried about the girl” I say looking at each of them in the eye. London moves forward I watch her with wary eyes, witches have never been on my list of chummy friends. Its more like I would like her to be the chum to a shark I laugh at the thought of her being stuck in the ocean as a shark comes for her.
“What is so funny?” Tennessee asks as he looks at me and I see his eager eyes like he wants to join in on the fun.
“Nothing” I snap as I look at Tennessee with my ‘I will cook you look’ Tennessee like the idiot that he is just smiles and claps his hands. Shaking my head at him I look back at London as she has moved to sit beside me.
“I just want to check on Essy” London says, grabbing my hand London closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. Within seconds I watch as London appears within my space. Taking a quick look around London moves towards Hennessy that is still laying on the floor of my space, I watch carefully as she checks her over to make sure that she is ok.
“You know that I, I mean we don’t want anything bad to happen to Hennessy or you” London mutters as she continues to check over Hennessy.
“I really don’t have the energy to pretend to like you today London.” I growl as she continues her examination. I watch as finally London stands and dusts her legs and hands.
“Well, what is wrong with the girl” I ask. London says nothing as she fades out of my space.
As I open my eyes, I see London opening hers as well.
“Well, is the little Hen ok” Tennessee asks impatiently.
“I can’t find anything too wrong she has some broken bones as well as a cut on her forehead, she will be sore when she wakes up but overall, she isn’t in a life and death situation, and on that note why can’t you heal her. All supers heal fast but Hennessy has never had that ability. So why don’t you heal her?” London asks.
“Yeah, that is true why don’t you heal her?” Jameson asks.
“I can’t it isn’t allowed until she has reached the right age. I have watched as you all care for her ever since she was a baby that is the only reason that I continue to allow her in your life. Hennessy only has several more months to wait until we can be one. Once we are one the Royals will find out that our species will not be extinct like they thought which means that Hennessy will be in a lot of trouble.” I say as they sit there and watch be with there beady eyes never leave me.
“Why” Tito asks. He has been the quietest during this whole discussion thing that we are having.
“The mature age for a Phoenix is age twenty-five but there are a few rare cases that the human side can achieve their Phoenix at the age of twenty-three which is when Hennessy will have me. However, this will come with problems as when I first join Hennessy, she will experience the unfathomable power which means that the Royals as well as every super will know that there will be a more powerful being among them. Therefore, everyone that believes that they can best us will come for us which means that Hennessy will do one of two things. She will either stand up and fight or she will run and if she does that Hennessy and myself will suffer the first six months of us being joined is everything and we can not take separation for too long. Hennessy is a kind soul but that comes with the problem of feeling like she is not good enough. This in itself could jeopardise our joining.” I say as I watch the others.
“So, what does this mean? And what do you mean Hennessy feels ‘not good enough’” Jameson asks
“I can’t tell you exactly when it started or why it started but I know the twit and mother had a lot to do with it.” I reply. I listen as London and Tennessee laugh loud and uncontrollably whilst Tito has a small smile one his face Jameson is the only one that is looking concerned.
“It has nothing to do with you Jameson” I say while looking at him. “In fact, Hennessy has so much love for you all that I feel a little sad that you aren’t our family” I say.
“What the hell do you mean we are not family? I understand the twit but us never” Tennessee snaps as he bolts upright.
“Great name by the way” London says still laughing. I smirk sometimes it is hard to hate the dark witch for years I have watched her overcome everything and to become stronger just so that she can protect Hennessy that is what they all have done.
“How can we protect her?” Jameson asks. I smile sadly the thing is that we can’t help Hennessy needs to over come the issues herself she needs to fight. But to do that …...
“What are you talking about?” I am pulled into my space in a blink of an eye. I am a little shocked when I see Hennessy sitting up in our space.
“Hennessy your awake” I say as I move towards her. She nods but keeps looking around like she is trying to place where she is.
“What must I overcome?” Henessy asks as I continue to stare at her.
“Everything” I reply.
