Chapter 73
The Queen’s head snaps back with an audible crack. The Witch gasps and quickly covers her mouth before turning away from the Queen gagging as the Queen’s head is back on a weird angle.
“Oh, shit. Did you see that?” Nix says conversationally to the Witch. “I mean her head is on a massive angle that can’t be normal. Hey, Queeny you, ok?” Nix asks as she continues to point. “Shit I need to get this on film. Stay still so I can get a photo” Nix says as she pulls out her phone and takes a photo. As Nix continues to click taking as many photos as possible.
The Witch rushes to the Queen once she has gotten her gagging under control, she helps the Queen right her head back into the original position.
“There all good” The Witch says while patting her shoulder.
“I am going to kill her” The Queen growls.
“I mean yeah, totally understand how you want to kill me, but you did charge at me, so it was a reflex. So, I am going with it is your fault.” Nix says while nodding her head.
“I AM GOING TO KILL YOU” The Queen growls again before charging back at Nix. Nix takes a step to the left and just misses the attack from the Queen. Watching as the Queen races passes by her and crashes into the desk in the corner of the room.
“I think that you need to readjust this charging thing the first time you got kicked in the head and now you have crushed the desk so I am going to say that this isn’t working for you” Nix murmurs as she looks at the Queen and the Witch. “Am I wrong?” Nix asks the witch.
The witch looks at the Queen laying on the floor and then back at Nix as she continues to flick her head back between the Queen and Nix almost shocked at what she was seeing.
“So, am I wrong?” Nix says again looking at the Queen.
The witch looks again at the Queen and then back at Nix while shaking her head.
“Hey Queeny, you may need to brush up on your fighting skills” Nix mutters as she moves towards the door.
“You can’t leave, we are not finished here” The Queen mutters as she tries to pull herself to her feet, the Queen manages to stumble several times before she manages to gain her footing.
“We are finished. If you want more of a beat down, then let’s go. Otherwise, close that gaping hole in your face and let’s be done” Nix responds.
The Queen opens and shuts her mouth several times before turning her furious gaze onto Nix. The Queen’s eyes change completely to black showing that her super has completely taken over. The Queen and her super look at odds with each other as the eyes flick from black to normal constantly.
“End this Nix, my other has completely lost control I have her under at the moment but because of the witch she is harder to control on a daily basis. Please end me and send me to the nether.” The Queen’s super begs.
“Are you trapped?” Nix asks the Queen’s super.
“Yes, for many years now. I have been trying to get her to see reason, but the Queen hasn’t been reasonable for a long time. Me and the other two supers have become more and more distant but every time the witch gives us her potion, we are forced to come forward, but we don’t like it here” The super says.
“What are you?”
“I am a Demon, there is a fairy, and a nymph stuck in here as well” The Demon replies.
“How long have you been with her?” Nix asks
“Since the death of you, the fairy came several years later, and the nymph was after she killed the Kings fated mate” The Demon replies.
“If I end this you are not going to be reborn which mean this all ends. Are you ok with that?” Nix asks
“We all agree” The Demon responds.
Moving towards the Queen Nix reaches her hand out and grasps her head closing her eyes Nix takes a deep breath and slowly releases her powers.
The Queen’s body shudders once before Nix is sucked into a deep dark hole. Looking around Nix tries to move her body but was unable.
“What do you think? You seriously thought that this was going to be easy that I was going to just let you kill me and life would be bliss” The Queen’s voice says from the distance.
“Nix, something is wrong” I whisper as I look through our eyes only to encounter complete darkness.
“I know” Nix whispers back.
“What are we going to do, something doesn’t feel right. This whole thing feels way too easy. We are missing something” I say as I continue to look for clues through our eyes.
“I don’t know what we are going to do. At least London, Caleb and Dom got out of here” Nix murmurs as she continues to look around.
“I will never let you win; I will never let you live Nix. You see I have been waiting for years to take this revenge and here you are like the perfect offering just ripe for the picking.” The Queen says gleefully.
“Ripe for the picking, who the hell says that? I mean sure psychos would say something like that. Just a quick question did you go to villain school. Because most of what you says sounds like bad one liners” Nix mutters
“You have know idea what I am going to do to you and your family, I will make sure that you all pay dearly for what you have done and I am going to laugh as I kill your other and make you rejoin me where you rightfully belong” The Queen cackles in the distance.
“I think that we can say that we are rightfully fucked” I murmur as I watch as a dark figure moves towards us.
“Mm” Nix replies. As the Queen moves towards us I hear the happiness in her voice as she utters the words that I was dreading “Now the fun can start” The sound of London’s scream is almost drowned out by my own as I realise what I was missing.
We aren’t inside the Queen’s head she is inside ours.
