“Why is he on fire?” Daimon says, looking around the group of people. Apart from a few eye rolls no one says anything else.
“That is the King right” Tito mutters to London and Jameson as they both nod their heads.
“Father, Father, can you hear me?” Caleb yells as he runs towards his father.
“Just kick him” Tennessee says while trying an innocent look as everyone turns their heads to glare at him
“That is not helpful Tennessee” London snaps as she takes a swing at Tennessee’s head
“Yes, it is” Tennessee replies point at the King to prove his point.
“Move, I can help him” Shakti mutters as she pushes through the crowd.
“Um, do we really want to help him?” Tennessee asks
“He has a point he is the King” Dom says while moving further away from London as she turns her glare onto him.
“He is a super” Caleb yells.
“So, that super is hunting our sister, you know your supposed mate” Dom says while looking at the others.
Bride and Hekate have big smiles on their faces as they continue to flick their heads to each person that talks.
“They are right Caleb, you father the King is trying to kill and will kill Hennessy if they find out about her so will your mother so it may be best to cut your losses and move on” Tito mutters.
“How can you say that?” Caleb growls as he swiftly stands and advances towards Tito.
“Because your father whilst not only hunting Hennessy also murdered our whore of a mother, on those grounds alone go without a parent. But because you want more how’s this, he killed every single Phoenix that was known. He was responsible for the death and extinction of a species how can you want to save him father or not” Jameson growls.
“But, the Phoenix aren’t all dead” Caleb responds.
“So what? That gives you the right to save something that will kill them as soon as look at them. Face it your parents hated not being strong and to get that they kill the only species that was stronger and they did this buy cheap methods.” London growls taking a protective stance.
“He is a Phoenix” I mutter walking closer to the King that is on the ground.
“What did you say?” Athena says as she walks closer to Hennessy and the downed King.
As Athena moves forward, Tito, Tennessee, London, Jameson, Dom and Caleb move as a unit stepping between her and Hennessy. Athena stops and looks at all of them in the eye.
“I… I just wanted to check on the Phoenix” Athena says
“Wait until Hennessy moves.” Jameson growls.
“You know that I am a goddess right?” Athena says while lifting her eye brow
“I’m a demon”
“Fae”
“Witch”
“Shadow”
“Werewolves”
Were the responses that followed her statement.
“I am a Phoenix, big fucking deal” I hiss. Seriously I wonder where my siblings got their protective streak from.
“Can you hear me” I ask the King as I lean down and ask him.
“Y…yes” The king stutters.
“How can we help you?” I ask the King. As the king reaches up and tries to touch my face I suddenly jerk back and nothing but cold air hits my face.
“No Touching” Athan hisses as the King drops his arm.
“Yes, no touching” Caleb growls as I am ripped from Athan’s arms to Caleb’s.
“Our sister, no TOUCHING!” Tennessee growls as he rips me from Caleb’s arms.
“HEY! How about you stop pulling grabbing me” I shout but the others can’t hear me as they are too busy fighting.
“Shut your mouth Prince” Tennessee snarls as he takes an aggressive step towards Caleb.
“No, she is my mate. Which means I protect her” Caleb snarls
“Fuck off with your mate bullshit” London yells moving right up into Caleb’s face.
“What are you going to do witchy sparkle my ass?” Caleb growls back
“Bring is shadow boy” London says as she calls on her magic.
“Don’t hurt my sister” Tito growls pushing Caleb back so that he wasn’t close to London.
“Getting a bit handsy there, we certainly know that no royal has the actual balls though” Dom snickers.
“Haha no balls” Tennessee says laughingly
“As fun as this is, can you all stop and watch what is going on” Archon yells.
“No, don’t want to. This is fun” Tennessee snaps back whilst clapping his hands.
“You demons are all nuts” Archon says
“At least we have some, not like the ball less shadow here” Tennessee says.
“Can someone help me get the King inside” I call as the group continue to act like children.
Athan moves closer to me and picks the King up as he is no longer covered in flames.
“Thank you” I whisper as I follow Athan into the house.
“Your welcome princess” Athan says with a smirk.
“I am not a princess, why are you helping aren’t you meant to be standing with the gods and goddesses?” I ask when Athan lays the King down on the couch.
“I am fine, you won’t remember this but I was or should I say am your uncle and it was my duty to protect you. I failed when we went under attack” Athan says.
“How could you know what was happening” I ask Athan.
“I tried really hard to get to you, but when Helios your father was cut down, I couldn’t reach you. Then you and your mother were taken. I tried really hard to find you but I only found your mother she was terribly wounded and she couldn’t remember what happened” Athan says.
“Yeah, I guess she must have been in shock” I stutter.
“It was more than that. Phoebe poisoned her and made her think that her life from when she met your father didn’t exist and that it was actually Phoebe’s life. For years we watched your mother become half of herself. Because of what Phoebe did. We could never prove that she really did it we need time and proof but because of that Nix your super suffered and so did you, so did Athena and Shakti” Athan says with a serious voice.
“I am sorry that, that all happened but a part of me can’t forget and forgive. I lived through Nix’s memories and it hurts, she hurts and it was because you all didn’t do what you were meant to. You took to long for this moment to come about. You allowed Phoebe to walk away even know you knew she was dangerous or that you expected that she was dangerous and you want to me forgive and forget. I am sorry Athan but I don’t know if I can do that especially not for Nix’s sake, she is allowed to be angry and so am I” I growl
“I understand that Princess but there is a time for forgiveness” Athan says as he pats me on the head.
“You…you need to hide. The Queen knows that you exist” The King whispers into the still room.
“What?” I ask moving closer to him
“RUN! The Queen is hunting you” The King gasps.
