Chapter 75
The room is still burning but none of the flames are touching the others.
“What?” Tito grumbles as he slowly moves his head.
“How?” Jameson asks as he too begins to move his body.
“NO!” Athan yells as he stares at where Athena was last.
“Athena” Erebus calls solemnly
“What happened” Tito mutters as he pulls himself into a sitting position while looking around the room.
“Athena! Athena did this, she has given her life for you Tito. She wants you to understand that Hennessy’s love for her siblings is more than any love that she holds for herself, and Athena couldn’t let you die. While your wolf was here still your other was dying. Your wolf couldn’t save you and so Athena decided to give her life for yours.” Shakti says as she moves into the room.
“But she will come back, right? She was a phoenix” Tito says looking at the spot where Athena body last was.
“NO! she won’t be coming back” Archon says sadly.
“She wasn’t a Phoenix” Aibelle says with tears running down her cheeks.
“By doing this, she chose to save you and that means that she chose you over her own daughter” Athan mutters as he moves over to the ashes that Athena’s body left behind.
“But how if she wasn’t a Phoenix?” Tennessee says as he is finally able to stand and stretch.
“All beings, well all super beings are given the one chance. By sacrificing oneself you transfer your life span to them. Phoenix’s have the ability to do this and to use their feathers or lives to bring people back from the dead. But there are consequences for doing this and it isn’t something that we like supers doing so we don’t let them know that they have this ability which means most supers life their lives how they come. But Athena, knew the pain and suffering she is now with Helios, and she can reunite with the one that she loves. You must treat her life as a gift Tito” Shakti says while slowly reaching out and touching Tito’s face.
“What about Hennessy and Nix they are going to be devastated” Tito growls as he looks at Shakti.
“Yes, she will. But she will have you” Shakti replies as she drops her hand and moves over to her husband.
“Did you find Hennessy?” Tito asks as Shakti accepts the hug from her husband Archon.
“Yes” Shakti mutters into Archon’s shoulder.
“Well, where is Hen?” Tennessee growls
“There is going to be a choice that will need to be made. Not everyone will survive what is going to happen next. Tito will have the strength of the Goddess Athena, but the rest must make the choice to endure their worst nightmare if we are to save Hennessy, London and Caleb. If you faulter than you won’t come back.” Shakti says as she turns to look at everyone in the room.
“Gods and Goddesses will not go. This next battle is solely for the family of the members taken” Shakti says
“WHAT!” Bride yells
“BULLSHIT” Lycus calls
“NO” Erebus yells
“NOT HAPPENING” Aibelle calls
“YEAH NO” Daimon adds
“FUCK THAT” Athan mutters
“You will not interfere; you are forbidden to interfere. I let the fight before go simply because of the wrongs that I participated in but for this YOU. WILL. NOT. INTERFERE! Do I make myself clear?” Shakti asks while glaring at each person in the room.
“So, let me get this straight. You think just because you let them fight when the Queen and her minions first breached our boarders that you have repaid everything that you did while you were Skky. So, you think that killing my brothers fated mate, torturing and trying to kill Hennessy on numerous occasions has been a debt that you have repaid? Are you fucking kidding me? Listen bitch I don’t care who you are, I don’t care what you can or in this case can’t do but if you don’t do everything in your power to right the serious wrong that you have done to me and mine I can guarantee you that I will do everything in my power to kill you dead and to hell with this realm and living. Because of you, my little sister has suffered so much that just the sight of you alone wants me to kill you. So, you coming in here forbidding something that you can basically just fuck off with isn’t going to help your cause. I also don’t care if Daimon kills me for what I just said but if it wasn’t for you none of us would be in this damn position in the first place.” Tennessee growls as he moves to stand in front of Shakti and Archon with his chest heaving from his speech that he has just given.
“I won’t be killing you boy” Daimon responds.
“He isn’t that dumb after all” Bride says as she looks disgustingly at Shakti.
“Of course I am not dumb, who said I was dumb?” Tennessee says shockingly to Bride.
“Um, noooo one” Bride stumbles over her words at the hate filled glare that Tennessee gives her.
“Um everyone” Athan mutters beside Bride.
“Seriously, who called me dumb. I will have you know that I am a very smart Demon, and I work hard for the image that I project so I am glad that you were fooled. If I can fool a goddess who is the dumb one huh?” Tennessee says laughingly as he turns back to look at his brothers and friends. Tito, Jameson, Landon and Dom look in different directions trying not to make eye contact with Tennessee.
Athan laughs as the other avoid eye contact.
“I am serious though. If you don’t help us, get our sister back, I will kill you. This is the least you could do for all the pain that you have caused her” Tennessee snaps at Shakti.
“We will not help; they are forbidden, and I have already repaid my debt.” Shakti says
“You haven’t repaid your debt. But you will” Tito growls.
“I warned you” Tennessee says with a smile on his face.
“Coward” Jameson mutters.
“What a joke” Dom murmurs
“What a Queen of super. Too scared to help when she is needed” Landon growls.
