Chapter 76
“This is not our fight” Shakti says as she moves from her husband’s embrace and squares off with Tennessee
“It is your fight, as you said this is effectively your niece and you aren’t going to lift a finger to help us. When fighting for something that you believe in does that make you right or wrong?” Jameson asks.
“You should be helping” Tito growls as he glares at Shakti.
“I will take you to where you need to go but I am telling you that this isn’t our fight” Shakti growls out.
“Where are we going?” Jameson asks as he looks at everyone but Shakti.
“Get comfortable I will be transporting your minds not your bodies” Shakti says as she looks at Tito, Jameson, Landon, Dom and Tennessee.
They all find comfortable positions in couches or on the floor.
“Keep in mind. If you die in there you are dead, there is no second chances” Shakti says as she moves towards each of them one by one.
“Well except the princess boy over there” Tennessee says while pointing at Tito.
“Jameson” Tito calls as
“ARGH!” Tennessee yells as Jameson, Dom and Landon, all hit him at once making him try and dodge the incoming attacks
“Take a deep breath, when you get there, you will face obstacles like nothing you have ever faced before. To fail is to let your sister die” Shakti mutters.
“Oh goody, good thing we don’t have the gods and goddesses helping us” Tennessee mutters sarcastically.
“Yes, they could break a nail” Dom mutters while glaring at Shakti.
Athan and Erebus try to muffle their laughter as they watch Tennessee and Dom insult Shakti every time she opens her mouth.
“Is this funny to you?” Shakti growls
“A little” Athan responds
“Very much on the funny side” Erebus replies.
“You know what they say, people become angrier when the truth is told” Daimon says as he continues to look down at his nails.
“Yes, the truth does in fact hurt” Lycus responds, glaring at Shakti
“Do you have something to say?” Shakti snaps as she looks at her fellow gods and goddesses.
“The right thing couldn’t hurt” Aibelle says
“Yes, help is always what we have been told to do should we be asked” Bride says while nodding her head. Looking at the Queen Goddess and friend with a look of shock and bewilderment.
“WE. WILL. NOT. INTERFERE” Shakti yells.
“Whatever”
“Bullshit”
“Not fair
“So rude”
“Typical”
Come the responses as Shakti continues to glare at her fellow gods and goddesses.
“Can we hurry up?” Tennessee asks
“Yes we need to go” Tito responds
“Hey, goddess lady let’s go” Dom mutters
“Today would be nice” Landon calls
“If she dies, if any of my sisters die, I will help Tennessee kill you” Jameson calls with a glare.
Huffing out an annoyed breath, Shakti moves towards the siblings and friends and instructs them to relaxing and close their eyes. She tells them that when they get transported you will not all be in the same spot, you will each face your own challenges and for you to find and rescue your sisters you must overcome your challengers and fight for your sisters.
“Are you ready?” Shakti asks.
“Yes”
“Let’s go”
“Get on with it”
“A OK”
“Close your eyes” Shakti says
As Shakti closes her eyes to use her cosmic powers, she misses Lycus, Aibelle, Erebus, Athan and Daimon touching one of siblings on the shoulder or head. Shakti starts chanting as the room starts to swirl and shimmer Shakti finishes her chant and slowly opens her eyes. As her eyes open, she looks on in horror as the other gods and goddesses are now lying beside the siblings all touching, all have their eyes closed. Turning towards her husband she angers gets the better of her.
“WHY? Why would you allow them to do this?” Shakti yells
“Because it is what is right, and you know it. Forbidding them to help their own while trying to save their sisters was wrong and you know it. I also agree with Tennessee, you have not repaid the debt, I don’t think you ever will and the fact that you can say that you have hurts. Shakti while you were gone, we uncovered so much that is wrong with us that I am sorry to say that we all feel guilty and what to make a mend for what has happened. No one suffered more than Nix and Hennessy and I hate that you think that allowing a few of us to fight was to call even. Athena gave her life, and you aren’t even sad. Hekate has gone back to our realm to enlist fellow fighters are you saying that you don’t want to help or are you saying that you are sorry for what took place?” Archon asks searching Shakti’s eyes.
“This isn’t right Archon; we agreed many, many centuries ago that we would not interfere with what the supers do. Now you are changing the rules just because you feel guilty” Shakti snaps as she glares at her husband.
Archon looks at his wife for the first time with shock and also hate. He knew when he first saw her when she came back that something wasn’t quite right with her but for her total disregard for their situation makes him feel sick. The realisation that Hekate may have been right all those years ago make Archon’s heart cracks as he continues to look at his wife or a version of his wife, he wasn’t sure he liked very much at the moment.
“I can’t believe you just said that” Archon gasps out shocked that she didn’t seem to really care what she was saying.
“What it’s the truth” Shakti says as she shrugs her shoulders. Trying her hardest not to let her husband know how much she hates being here.
“The truth dear Queen is that you were apart of this from the start, weren’t you?”
