Chapter 103 - The Break-In

The Break-In


Ava's POV


"OK" Ava layed on the bed waiting for him to finish, she could hear him clean up something but she couldn't get hold of what it was

"So…"

"Yeah? Are you done?" Ava asked

"Yeah, it fucking poured on my phone" their was anger in his voice

"Which one?"

"The new iPhone I just got" he said

"Ohh, you can get it fixed, is it that bad?"

"Not really, so what we're we saying?" he sounded calm this time around

"About us" Ava responded

"How was your day?"

"Erhm" Ava stood from bed, she could hear some noise from the kitchen

"What? How was it?" he asked again

"I think someone broke in" Ava said in a whisper

"Do you want me to call the police?"

Ava was quite for a few seconds, the noise she heard suddenly disappeared

"Babe, where are you?"

"I'm in my room, I'm not hearing the noise again, I must have been a rat" Ava said in a whisper as she sat still on her bed not making any noise with her body

"Are you sure? I can come over"

"Yeah, I mean no don't worry about coming over, I don't think it's anything serious, I'll be fine" she said giving a deep sigh as she placed her head back to her bed

"The doors are locked right?"

A throaty laughter came out of Ava's oesophagus "Why would I fucking sleep without my doors locked?"

"Alright then, you must be very tired" he said over the phone

"Yeah, I need to sleep before I lose my mind"

"Yeah, same over here" he yawns

"Alright babe, before you swallow me" she laughed

"And eat you raw" he laughed too

"Get the hell out of my phone" a tired laugh came out of her voice

"I love you"

"I love you too" Ava said and hung up the call

After the call, I stayed awake for some time, waiting to see if the intruder would just pop into her room as though he was waiting for her to finish her call

She could only stay awake for about five minutes then she dozed off

The ray of sunlight woke her up, she used her hand to cover her eyes from it's radiating power on her eyes, she couldn't bear it, she turned to the other end of her bed

It was then she realised that it was dawn, she jumped out of her bed

"Gosh" she quickly che9her phone for time

"I'm fucking late, how the heck did I sleep so long?" I asked myself as I dashed into the bathroom to shower

I removed the cloth I was wearing as fast as I have ever done before, my thoughts went to Helsi, she must have been there already

Waiting for the signed documents

"Ouch!" I hit the lower part of my knee running out of the shower to get dressed

I bagan to limp, the pain was there but my brain ignored it because I was fucking late!

I managed to wear my cloth in pain as my eyes scanned through my room for the documents and my wallet

I need to where each of them are so I would just go pick them up and go

I turned to face my trouser, I just realised that I have been trying to wear it for the past seconds, "I need to get a bigger one" I scuffed

It was no longer my size. I threw it to my bed and went for another one quickly. I took a bigger but decent black one and wore it. On a normal day, I wear my heels but now…

I turned to my wallet, then to my hand bag then I ran to the door, I opened it quickly and went straight to the living room

I was in so much hurry that I hadn't noticed the broken glass in the kitchen, I stopped a taxi and told him where I was heading

I could see Helsi's car packed outside, she was already here and must have been waiting for me

I walked to the elevator then I turned to my hand and then…

"Shit!" this must be a nightmare

"How the heck did I forget that document?" I groaned and hit my forehead

I was confused, and didn't know what to do at that moment, "Should I just…" I pointed to my office "Or just go back home, that document is very important"

After giving it a second thought, I dashed back to the elevator to go home, once I pressed the button to go in

I saw Helsi coming out

"What's the problem Ava? Where have you been?"

"Good day" I tried to keep myself as composed as ever, trying not to show my worries and urgency

"Get to my office with the documents now" Helsi said and walked away

I stood for about two seconds, wondering if I should tell her about what had happened "Nah, I'm the manager, she wouldn't do anything" I scuffed and pressed the button again then walked into the elevator

I ran out immediately I was out and went further to stop a taxi again, "Please hurry" I said to him

I only prayed the traffic won't be heavy as it is some terrifying days

"Thank you" I said to him immediately I came down from the taxi facing my house

My keys were already pointed to the door before I got there, I inserted it quickly and opened the door, then I ran to my room for where kept the documents

"Phew '' I held my chest, it was on my bed all this while. It was frustrating but I was glad I saw it

I walked down to the living room, I was already tired of running all the time, so I took my time and walked down

"I didn't even have a meal this morning" I said to me head and turned to the kitchen

Then I saw another nightmare, as if this day has come against me, one thing after another.
