The Talk At The Living Room


Tom's POV

"Did you know about this?" Tom asked David

"No sir, like I said before, we were not at home when it happened" David drove a little faster out of fear of what his mum had told him

"I hope I don't get to find out otherwise in not…" He wasn't smiling when he said those words to David

"You know, we've been together for a very long time right?"

"I very well know that sir" David responded, his heart raced faster than the speed of light

"I've seen you grow, I've seen and know everybody you love and exactly where they are so don't lose that because of a silly mistake" Tom said

"I'm fully aware of that sir" David sure regret asking how he was doing down to where he told him about his mum's absence

"Good, I'm pretty sure that we've gotten to an agreement attached with its consequences" Tom said with a harsh voice


David kept quiet, his hands became shaky, his face sweaty. He knew he had to run away and warn his family before Tom finds out about what could be so irrelevant as him not telling him that he knew it was Mardrigo all along

"Woah Woah" David said at the top of his voice. Immediately he laid eyes on his home "A lot of changes only for the past three days of my absence huh?"

"We've been keeping it clean and shiny ever since" David felt a sense of relief but only for as long as it allowed

"You all would be rewarded, but only after I get more information on what had happened to my mum" Tom said

David slowed down as he had gotten close to his home, he ordered the gate be open, sending signals to the rest that Tom was back home

David slowly drove in and went for a lane to stop the car, he came down immediately and inhaled deeply

"Ahh… A breath of fresh air" he said "Finally" he smiled but it faded "But only for a short time" he whispered to himself

"I would get your things out of the car sir" David said to him

"What? Have you forgotten your job? Or you want me to go over the list for you again?" Tom asked harshly

"I'm really sorry about that sir" David said with his head lowered

Tom walked a few steps close to his home then turned to David "Summon everyone to the living room immediately you take my things inside, I need to have a talk with everyone about what had been happening ever since my absence" He said and turned back to the door to get in

"Understood" David replied and turned to the car to get his things out of the car

He was upset when he carried Tom's bag out of the car because the maids didn't come out to do their job but made him carry out their duties

He carried his bag straight to his room, then came back outside to inform the rest that their attention is needed at the living room

He had no need to inform them of the reason as he was alone when he saw Madrigo come in, every other person was out already

"He needs everyone at the living room immediately and if others are not here, inform them if you know where they are" David instructed the servants, guards and cleaners outside

After giving out the information, he went inside straight to the living room

The atmosphere had changed immediately Tom came in, like it had just started raining fire and no one could step a foot on the floor

The cleaners ran in, so did the servants and guards, there was whisper of what could be the reason

"Did you clean his room last night?" a servant turned to another

"I did, but I wasn't expecting him to be home today" she said

"Did you clean it or did you not?"

"I did" she whispered

The whisper went from one mouth to another until they entered the living room and they all became quiet like they had all become dumb

"Welcome back" he said in his thick voice

"Or rather I should be welcomed" he said with his shoulders raised high

They all nodded their heads in response to what he just said

"I called you all here to take care of my mum and there was some disappointments, you know" He looked at David then turned to everyone of them "I only left David initially because I did not trust anyone of you but Helsi did, and that was why we've always been with just David since the beginning of our marriage"

They all wondered what they had done

"His mum" someone whispered in the thin air

At that, others adjusted themselves expecting the very worse from Tom

"I just need you all to tell me exactly what happened when you came because none of you were here when I left except David"

A female servant behind raised her hand

"Go on" Tom said to her

"We all went for our regular prayer at the mosque like we regularly do, and I personally checked on mum before leaving, made sure she took her medication and she wished me farewell" she said with her head lowered and ended with a smile

"Alright, you can go home now, I would send your monthly payment to you now" Tom said with a smile

She walked past her fellow colleagues and went straight to her room to get her bag

Tom then faced the rest of them "My mum speaks well of her, that was why she had her way through easily, but each of you would have to explain why nobody was there to protect my mum from the invader, what if she had been killed?" Tom said at the top of his voice "Huh? Why the sudden silence?"

The servant upstairs getting her things could hear him scream from the living room, it made her get her things ready fast to leave because she didn't want to stay longer than she had already done

Tom's decisions can change in seconds and never for the good, she knew better than to be reluctant about getting her things
