Joy's POV


"I said yes" Joy said over the phone

"Really?" Lusi screamed

"Yes" Joy sounded like she was crying over the phone

"I'm really happy for you, like it took so long" Lusi said

"Yeah, like it was never going to happen you know, I just feel…" her cry became obvious over the phone

"I understand, I felt the same way before I got married to Paul, people were telling me that I was too old already to still remain single and that I would be happier with a man beside me" Lusi said

"Yeah, exactly"

"But you know… th list goes on and on, after marriage comes having kids then taking care of them then making sure they grow up to be good then making sure they get married" Lusi laughed as her thought which she just said to Joy

"Very true" Joy laughed too

"But all in all, I'm really happy for you, where and when is it happening?"

"In the UK, next week"

"Oh My, so soon already?" Lusi sounded really excited

"Yes, I'm gonna be his wife from next week" Joy smiled so deep that Lusi could feel it

"I would let Helsi and Butrico know about it or have you told them about it?"

"No I haven't, in fact I haven't told anyone about it just you because he just proposed few minutes ago"

"And the wedding day is already decided?" Lusi asked

"Yes" Joy replied


"Alright babe, i have to go now my future husband is already out of the bathroom" Joy said

"Ohhh alright, have fun sweetheart, I'm really happy for you and I love you"

"I love you too" Joy said

"You would see us there to celebrate your marriage with you" Lusi said

"Yeah, alright bye" Joy hung up


Helsi's POV

I was really happy when I got the news that Joy was engaged, I screamed so loud that my mum came up to the room looking worried

"Is everything OK baby?"

"No mum" Lusi screamed more with smiles all over her face

"What is it this time around" her mum rolled her eyes, all her worries just went away

"It's joy mum, she got engaged today" Lusi held herself from screaming more

"Awww, that's really great"

"She is getting married mum" Lusi was behaving like some teenager

"She just called you to tell you?" mum asked

"Yes she just did, I remember those nights when she would cry on my legs because other mocked her because she wasn't married"

"She is a really pretty lady with a big heart"

"That doesn't mean she would access anyone that comes her way, like you told me keep your standards high not going for an man out of pity for oneself"

"Yes I remember" Lusi's mum said with a laugh

"I'm proud of her just like I was of you when you got married to Paul" she added

"Of course mum" Lusi said with so much pride and confidence

"Don't get your ego too high" her mum smiled and stood up to go

"I need to continue what I was doing before you screamed" her mum squeezed Lusi's nose

"Mum!"

"What? I would squeeze it harder the next time you cause me some heart attack? Her mum smiled and walked back to what she was doing

Lusi picked her phone to let Helsi know, she knew she was close to Mardrigo

After dialling it for the second time, she finally picked the call

"Where did you keep your phone?" Lusi almost screamed out of joy over the phone

"Sorry, I wasn't close to my phone" Helsi re

"Well… that's by the way, guess what?" Lusi made a funny sound over the phone

"I don't know, Paul is back?"

"No" Lusi responded

"Alright tell me, I don't know what else to guess"

"Joy is getting married next week and week have to be there" Lusi said

"Joy?" Helsi left what she was doing to really get that part

"Yes, Joy got engaged and she is getting married next week"

"Gosh, this is great news" Helsi said really loud

"I know right"

"Oh My, I'm really happy for, I've totally removed my mind from her getting married" Helsi said

"Me too, right?" Lusi laughed over the phone "This is literally the best news I've heard in my entire life" Lusi couldn't get over the scream

"This just made my day, she called you?"

"Yeah, she just called me now"

"Ohh" Helsi responded

"Where is Butrico?" Lusi had noticed that Butrico haven't said anything over the phone like he usually does

"You want to speak with him?"

"No, I'm just asking, thought he was close by"

"No he is not, but if you want him to know then call him" Helsi said

"Call him? Can't you just tell him?"

"We are not really in the right space right now?"

"Why? Because of Jude?" Lusi asked

"You knew?"

"Knew about what?" Lusi was surprised at the question

"Hold on, where are you?" Lusi asked

"Am at his place, where else would I be?"

"Is Jude there with you?"

"He left" Helsi responded

"Left how?, tell me everything that happened Helsi"

"Could you come over?" Helsi sounded teary and down over the phone

"Now?"

"Yeah, if you can please" Helsi replied

"Of course I can, let me just get dressed and let my mum know about it"

"Thank you" Helsi said

"You want me to get you anything?" Lusi asked

"No, I just want you to be here with me"

"OK darling, I would be there in a bit" Lusi responded

"OK" Helsi said and ended the call

Helsi was really happy for Joy, at last she had gotten someone she can spend her forever with, she went for a glass of wine to get herself together then picked her phone to call Joy

But after several times, she couldn't reach her


(Phone buzz)

Helsi turned to her phone and saw a message Joy left for her

~I would get back to you darling, I'm quite busy now~

Helsi nodded her head in agreement to the letter, she was certain that the arrangement she made with her private investigator was already out of the plan for today

She didn't want to talk about her problems, so just needed someone to tell her that all would be fine before she runs mad
