Helsi's POV

"What do you mean?" she folded her arms

"You know that I wouldn't lie to you, one reason I did not say a thing before was because you are his wife and.." he got interrupted

"And it should be the more reason why you should tell me such discrete information to protect me like you claim" she said such much confidence

It shaked him a little but for a few seconds

"Well… there are risks to it"

"Like?" she asked

"He would have come for your life and even if he doesn't, he will through someone" His eyes travelled through her body "He doesn't actually value what he has"

"I" she couldn't say anything, she knew that Tom had treated her badly several times for the reason to be that she couldn't bare him a child "You shouldn't make such conclusions so quick" she changed her words

"I'm closer to him than you think"

This angered Helsi, she stood up "Will you tell me why I'm here or are you here to tell me how Tom despise me?"

"He wanted you dead" He said

A part of Helsi was shocked but she saw it coming "Why?" she sat down

"He wanted the power you had, you know… greed, he discussed it with me then sent some of his strong and smart criminals to execute the plan" he paused and stared at her

"But… ?" she gave him a strange look

"But they mistook your sister for you"

"Wow" she blinks several times to shake the tears off, she nodded her head several times in shock "Wow" she repeated

"Were you there with your sister when it happened?" he was curious

"I wasn't" she inhaled deeply " We were in several offices but she came over for a visit"


"OK"

"We planned to head out somewhere later in the day but then… it happened" she grinned

"Look, I'm really sorry that-"

"Don't please, if you were really sorry, you wouldn't let it happen, I'm sure she would never forgive you for what you did"

"I know that I deserve all the punishment but Tom had the master plan and he just told me about it, I did nothing else" he went closer

"Stay where you are"

"Believe me, I wouldn't have if I had other options"

"Where is my sister?" she hadn't seen any sign of her

Mardrigo's sigh and facial expressions sent a message to Helsi

"Where is my sister?" she asked again

"She was held here but she struggled her way out, we don't know how she managed to escape but I'm sure that she is very alive wherever she is"

"Wherever she is?" she slammed the table

"Look Helsi, this what I wanted you to know, now that Tom has been locked up, things went messy"

"Fuck you" Helsi said and walked away

"Wait" he held her by her arm

"Let go of my hand" she screamed

"I'm not here to hurt you, I can't do that"

"And I'm not here for you" she removed her hand from his filthy hands

She turned and walked away

Tears rolled down her cheeks uncontrollably, she kept cleaning it off with her face towel as walked like an elegant queen as she is

Her driver saw her coming close, he dropped down to open the car for her

"Thanks" she went in to sit

He didn't drive the car immediately, he wanted her to get hold of herself because she seemed devastated from whatever conversation she had with her uncle

"Is everything OK ma'am?" he asked

She turned to look at him at the question he asked, it pierced her really deep, she started crying

He turned to face her at the back "I'm sorry for asking" he said in a soft voice

"Oh no, it's fine" she said in a shaky voice

"Everything is fine, please let's go" she kept wiping the tears off her face

"OK ma'am" he turned to face the car to drive, desperate to ask more questions but he had to heed to instruction

"Thank you" she added

He felt she soften the ground for more conversation "My pleasure ma'am" that wasn't necessary but he did that to keep the conversation going

"I'm going over to Lusi's place"

"OK ma'am, you spend the night at her place?" he asked

"Thank you" she responded "How about your family?"

"They are doing great, they live around"

"They? I would love to see your kids" She added

"OK, it is very much possible"

She was silent after his reply

"Two beautiful girls" he added

"Oh wow, that's really great" at least she smiled "I wish my sister was here" she finally let it out

"I'm so sorry ma'am, what happened to her?"

"She's missing"

"That's terrible, your uncle looks like he would be responsible for this foolish act" he said

"Well" she laughs "We are already here"

They had already arrived at Lusi's home

"Thanks a lot, our conversation really helped me" she acknowledged

"Anytime ma'am" he stood out to open the car for her

"I would call you when I need you" she came out and walked straight to Lusi's door

She rang the door bell about three times before Lusi came out to open the door

"Hey" Lusi welcomed her in

"Hi" Helsi responded

"What's wrong this time?" Lusi knew something was wrong with her facial expression

"Hi mum" Helsi greets Lusi's mum seated at the living room

"Oh my dear, how are you?"

"I'm fine mami"

"I've not seen you for the past two days, is everything OK?"

"Yes mami, everything is OK"

"Work stress and family life can be exhausting sometimes" Lusi added

"I understand, it can make one run crazy" mami agreed "Just take it easy, one step at a time"

"Let's go to the room" Lusi pushes Helsi forward

"Must you be a bully all the time" Lusi's mum asked

"Yes I must be, for her" Lusi said with a laugh

Lusi wanted to just plug out every thought that ran through Helsi's mind

"Alright…" Lusi said immediately she closed the door behind her

"Spill it out" Lusi said "I mean everything"

"Won't you at least let me have some rest?" Helsi smiled

"No, I won't" Lusi came closer
