Give Me A Call


Mary's POV


"Yes dear, who is he?" she whispered to her after pulling her slightly away from him

"We just met, he came to the clinic to see his sick mum and then he saw me crying in the room Ami was kept, then he came in to hug me" Mary smiled

"Ahh, you are smiling already" She shakes her head "What's his name?"

"He told me that his name is George" Mary responded

"Alright, but I'm here to take you home and your father have been arrested anyways" she felt so much relief

"Arrested? Why?" she asked in a whisper

"I would tell you all about it when we get home" Mrs Spencer said

George just stood there quietly, wondering what they possibly could be talking about

"OK mum" Mary played along through the whispering communications

"I guess you have to say goodbye to your new found love" Mrs Spencer said

"Mum" Mary laughed "We just met, don't jump into conclusions already"

"I can see it in his eyes" mum said with a smile

"Yes, in his eyes not mine"

Then mum gave one of those her looks, which Mary understood very clearly

"What mum?" Mary raised her shoulder and shakes her head, she understood that look well

"Go on, I would be waiting here"

Mary went over to him

"Hi, sorry I think we have to go home now" Mary said to George

"OK, I hope I did not cause any problem" George said because she just had a very long discussion with her mother and he taught he was the reason for her change in mind

"Of course not, you didn't do anything"

"Now I know where you got your beauty from" George flirted with her

Mary stared at her mum who was standing over the other side waiting for her then stared back at George with a small blush on her cheek

"Thank you" her smile grew larger, she could feel her palm getting sweaty, she couldn't possibly have fallen for me… she thought to herself, she gave a deep sigh

"I need to go now" She said again

"I hope your mum gets well soon" she added

"Yeah I hope so too, thanks and I'm really glad that I met you today, to be honest I've been having a bad day but you just came in and light up my world" George was a guy with sweet valor, he could sweep a lady off her feet with his words

"Aww, that's so sweet, you actually did the same thing" she smiled

Mrs Spencer stood there, wondering why just to say goodbye is becoming an introduction to marriage, she gave several sign movement for Mary but see and know but Mary gave a blind eyes to all her creepy movements

"Here," he put his hand into his tiny pocket and brought out his card "This is my card, just give me a call or drop a message when you get home" he said

"OK, I will" she responded and took the card from him, and was about to walk away then he asked

"Can I hug you?"

She hesitated for a few seconds but went closer with her hands open to hug him

"Mary" mum called out this time she couldn't hold it anymore, she even went further to hug him which got her curious

"Alright, we would talk later" Mary said in a hurry and left

"Sorry mum, he didn't want to let me go"

Mum just cleared her throat, sending another one of those looks

"Do you like him?" she asked

"Not yet mum, we just met… let's see where and how close time would makes us" she said with a smile

"If you say so" mum responded

Her eyes went to the room Ami was kept, but she turned to walk away, back home

They both left the hospital, Mary was hoping to see Mrs Sandra or a car but she saw neither of them which led to a curious question

"Are we walking home?" Mary asked, she was already really tired and exhausted

"Yes we are, it won't take us long and before you know it, we are home" Mrs Spencer was only trying to convince Mary to walk

"OK" she said plainly

She left the clinic environment and was ready to head home, they needed to do it before it gets dark

"I'm sorry mum, I really am" Mary said for the first time

"This is a good change and behaviour" mum smiled "But it's fine, it's not entirely your fault" she said as she rubbed her hands together, she was trying so hard not to bring the words the doctor said to her that happened to Ami in other for her not to break down

"Why was dad arrested?" She asked the right question and probably the right time

"The Doctor told me that he caused her death" mum said

"Was he there at home when it happened?" Mary did not quite understand why he would make such conclusions "Probably that's the reason why he ran into such quick conclusions about dad" she scoffed

"I know that he could be unreasonable and foolish sometimes, but a murder of his own child… no, I don't believe" Mary stood up for her dad whom she wished death but now stood up on his behalf

"I would show you the test results when we get home" Mum said and kept a long face

"OK…" Mary was very curious and couldn't wait to get home, she had a lot of things that she wanted to do

And just like what Mrs Spencer had said before "We are already here"

"Yeah" Mary responded

"If by any chance you have something going on with you or disturbing you that you want to talk about, please don't hesitate to let your mum know about it first"

"OK mum, I will"

"So is something bothering you now?" Mum asked, maybe Joe was doing same thing with her

"No mum, I'm fine" Mary responded as she went close to the door to open it
