It's Because I Care


Helsi's POV


She'd left her office and headed back home she was already feeling tired and exhausted she needed a lot of rest, the pregnancy was really messing and dealing with her

So when she got home she met Luci sitting at home alone "They are not home" she said to herself on hearing the silence bouncing at every corner of the house



"Hey, you did not go anywhere today?" Helsi asked again


Then Lucy responded "Oh no, I decided to take the day off I need to rest from the life's stress and problems" She threw a deep sigh


"It's necessary" Helsi scuffed "what about your husband and everybody? The house seems to be very quiet which can be unusual"


Lucy then said "Yes my husband went on a trip in the States to meet his the manager of a company he had a deal business deal with him and then Joy went to the market to get some stuff for us to eat in the house then my mum is inside she's having a rest and about Butrico… " She turned and looked at her

"What?" Helsi laughed

"Nothing" Lusi said that sounding so serious and all frowny


"Alright then…Go on" Helsi said


"He went to cool his head off"

"From what? what is he cooling his head off from?" Helsi asked Lusi

Lusi then turned to her face her, giving her the most abrupt look ever

"Don't you know he had feelings for you before now? Don't you see how he looked at you when you said you were pregnant? hold on…" She looked at her stomach then to her face


"Who is responsible for your pregnancy? I need to get this straight to the point and who is Jude and who is responsible for your pregnancy because a few days ago you told us that you had fun with Jude and now you're pregnant, are you sure this pregnancy is 2 month old? "

" First of all, I told you that I've spent time with Jude only once and that was all, where are all these questions coming from? " Helsi asked because she was shocked at the questions that came out of her mouth she seem to be furious and angry

After a long silence from Lusi…

"What's wrong, Lusi? Why are you asking me all this question? What's wrong?" Helsi kept asking her


Lusi looked from the chair she was sitting on staring deeply at her "Tell me you don't know that he liked you at one point in time," She finally found her words

"Well… I thought it was just a fling because he didn't put more effort in it just the way Jude is doing"

"Who is…" She adjusted her thighs and clears her thighs "Who is this guy that you heel tempering on, Jude you keep mentioning his name who is the dude?"

"He just came into the country that's all he told me that he just came into the country because he had some things he needed to attend to, so that's all I know about him but one thing I'm sure of is that we'll get to know more about each other as time goes by" she replied, suppressing the smile finding its way out

"Then does he know that you are pregnant?" Lusi asked

"Lusi… what's wrong?"

"Just answer please" Lusi said in a low voice

"Hmm, OK well… he doesn't know about it yet, but I will find a way to let him know after I've done the test to prove this and also know the father of the child I am carrying in my womb"

"Yeah I think you should do that as soon as possible to avoid any further confusion later and then you should know who he is, he shouldn't just pave his way into your head so easily"

"This is you telling me that you were happy for me when I told you about him the first time, saying you were glad that I feel better around him"


"I mean" Lusi smiled "I was but it seems he is getting the better of you" She points out that about him especially when she has no other information on him

"Knowing only his name is not acceptable, these days you don't go into something you're not sure Alright?"

"Alright boss, it's ok am really happy we could have this discussion this evening, I just need to take some rest, I've been on drugs and I don't feel too good" She said to Lusi

"That's true, you should have some rest and in incase you eventually change your mind… I am always here by your side


" OK mummy, I've heard you" Helsi walked as soft and slow as possible, she was in slight pain so she did not want anything to increase the pain


Lusi sat in the living thinking about Helsi and the entangled situation she had gotten herself into, she couldn't sleep that night and as if Joy knew, she called

(Phone rings)

She turned to her phone and saw that it was Joy, she quickly carried the phone to pick the call

"Why are you not asleep already?" Lusi laughed over the phone

"Why are you not on bed too?" Joy returned the laughter

"Argh!! I don't know… you know, I kinda feel bad for Helsi" Lusi said

"Yeah, she's been on my mind ever since I left" Joy responded

"And your boss wouldn't let you stay a little longer" She scuffed

"He can be such a duchbag sometimes" Joy said

"More like an asshole you mean"

"Yes" Joy laughed even more "How is she doing?" she added

"She is fine, she just came back"

"She came back?" Joy asked in shock

"Yes she did, she said she needed some company and that she had a nightmare about her sister"

"That shouldn't be a reason for her to leave" Joy said

"She is pregnant, she shouldn't stay alone incase the need for emergency arises"
