Lusi's POV


"Yeah, very true but…" She stopped

"What?" Lusi asked after her long silence

"Sorry, I had to carry something, so like I said, who is the father of the child?"

"We are not certain yet but she said that she was slightly sure that Tom is the father"

"Slightly sure?" Joy sounded irritated

"Shh, let her be"

"Yes boss" Joy smiled, it radiated from her words

"But tell me really, why are you still awake?"

"I was actually thinking of Helsi and I have some documents to look at, I know that if I don't look at them now, I'll be doomed" She laughed

"To the bottomless pit" Lusi added with a laugh

"My boss can be on my neck, he doesn't want any slightest mistake done"

"I honestly won't be able to deal with that kind of man" Lusi said with a thick voice

"I take his bullshit sometimes because he pays me for it and I also won't deal with his kind of species if he was to be my husband" she sniffs

"So… any fitting suitor yet?" Lusi chipped in the question

"What?" Joy laughed "I should have expected that from you"

"What? I care about you and you need a man by your side already"

"I don't need a man to be happy" Joy said

"True though, but at least, having someone to talk deep matters with that you can't discuss with others"

"And who told you some marriages are like that? Some women become slaves to their so called husband, I'm not ready for that bundage please"

"Not all men are the same, not all men are like your boss, marry a man like my husband Paul"

"Of course" Joy laughed

"Duh" Lusi rolled her eyes "Just do what makes you happy, I love you however way you want to be and your happiness is also mine"

"Aww" her voice became tiny "I love you far more"


"I remembered when" Lusi laughed "When we put you in trouble with your dad because Helsi lured you into following us to that night party"

"And you guys ran away"

"But we came back" Lusi couldn't stop laughing "I can't take your facial expression out of my face"

"My dad was like; you are a lady and you shouldn't go about messing yourself up" she mimicked her dad's voice

"As if we did anything bad" Lusi added

"Honestly" Joy agreed "He cared, that's why he reacted the way he did"

"Yeah" Lusi said and yawned

"Feeling sleepy, yeah?"

"Yeah"

"Alright, let me let you have some sleep" Joy said

"Yeah, thanks for calling, you actually made me night and my next morning"

"And funny enough we won't have fun like this when we are together like when we were all together, we were all just willing in sorrows"

"We couldn't when Helsi is going through hell" Lusi responded

"Yeah, I would have talked about something else but you said…" Joy kept quiet

"I was shocked when you said you wanted to let me sleep, because I know you" Lusi laughed

"What? You said it just now, having someone to talk to anytime at any point"

"OK, what do you want to ask me?"

"Is Paul there? Before we go on"

"He is not around, he went out of the state for his work"

"OK, so it's just you, mum and Helsi that's at home?"

"Yeah" Lusi stood up to get the drink she had been staring at for a long time

"OK, I wanted to ask about Butrico"

"OK, he is fine"

"Not that gummy bear"

"What then do you ask of him?"Lusi asked

"Was he not the one that liked Helsi at one point in time?"

"Yes, he was"

"What then happened?"

"He really wants to further a relationship with her but she seems to be so uninterested"

"She would come around" Joy said

"Of course she will, he has always been there for her, proving several times that he can take care of her"

"And Helsi is as soft as a bread even though she acts like a hard bitch sometimes"

"Of course" Lusi laughed " She can't show her soft part to the world, they wouldn't do justice to it"

"Yeah" Joy responded

"Is that what you wanted to ask? Or more is to come?"

"Nope, that's what I wanted to ask, I actually prefer Butrico to Tom, I've not gotten the time to know Jude more, he could also be the one too"

"He is not around, he went out of the country" Lusi said

"He told you?"

"No!" Lusi laughed "How the hell was he going to tell me, we have no close relationship"

"Helsi told you?"

"Yes she did, and that he would come around soon"

"Alright then, any update on the cases at hand?"

"One thing I'm sure of is that the case would be adjourned because of her pregnancy but that of her sister would be resolved soon"

"OK"

"She planned to see Mardrigo tomorrow morning because of the nightmare she had which she strongly believes that it's true"

"What nightmare?" Joy was curious

"She said, her uncle Mardrigo told her that Tom was responsible for her sister's kidnap but she can't just conclude about that yet"

"OK, Tom is still in jail?"

"Yes he should, not certain about that though but I think he is still in jail"

"He is going to be sentenced to death if he has a hand on this"

"These things are just complicated"

"And we are going to resolve them" Joy responded

"Are you done with your document arrangements?" Lusi asked

"No, but I'm on it" she said and slammed a word on her keyboard for Lusi to hear

"Opor" she laughed

"Do you have to behave like a fish?" She scuffed

"I'm off to bed, take care of yourself for me baby girl" Lusi yawned again

"Alright gummy bear, I love you too" Joy said and hung up the call
