The False Accusation


Tom's POV


"I would be out with you in a minute, I need to have a word with my mum" Tom said as he went inside to meet his mum who was already looking devastatingly confused

"What are they talking about Tom? What happened to her? Where did you go?" She could go on asking, she wanted some answers


"Calm down mum, it must have been a total misunderstanding and I would be fine, the case would be resolved sooner than you think" he went closer to console her

"What happened to her? Who are we even talking about?"

"Racheal" Tom said as he lowered his head

"Who is Racheal?" mum hits his upper chest "What have you gotten yourself into Tom?" She cried out "I can't lose you"

"You won't mum, I promise you that everything would be fine and please stop crying, it's not a death sentence"

"They don't treat people so well over there"


"I'm not going to jail mum, I need to go now, I will be back home soon" Tom kissed her forehead "I will be back soon, don't worry about me, I hope they did not cause you any harm?"


"No, they've been here for the past three hours waiting for you"

"Three hours?" Tom was shocked

"Yes, I couldn't go anywhere and I also tried calling you but seems you were busy, so I stopped and prayed for you to come home early" His mum lamented

"Which I clearly did" Tom raised his brows

"Alright, I would be waiting for you right here" His mum said pointing the floor

"Please go have some rest"

"I won't until you are back home" She insisted

"I know you mum, you would doze off before you even think about it" Tom laughed

"What?" She laughed too "Go and resolve this and you would be so shocked to see me still awake when you get back"

"OK" He smiled, and gave his briefcase to his mum "Keep it safe for me"

"OK, I will" mum collected it and went up to his room

Tom turned and faced the door, he then inhaled deeply, thinking of how he would put his statement together

"Alright" he said to himself and went out

"Can we go on now?" the police officer asked

"Yes we can" Tom went closer to enter, the door was already opened for him to enter

They drove real slow and quiet, as if he had been dead and they were about to drop him off at the cemetery. His kept his head straight because they all had eyes on him, the two security sitting beside him and the ones behind him

They got to the station, just few blocks away from Racheal's home, we all came out, and then they bowed showing respect to the commanding office coming out of his office

"The documents was sent to you sir" The female officer lowered her head

"Meet me in my office" he ordered looking at her and then to Tom

"Yes sir"

She motioned for me to follow suit




Helsi's POV



I followed through the back door to clean myself up so that no one would notice, it was a hell of a nightmare

"Why the hell was Tom there?" She kept asking herself

She successful cleaned herself up dry and clean, ready to go in and see them

Everywhere went suddenly quiet, Helsi opened the door slowly, drawing everybody's attention to the door

"Who's there?" Butrico stood and went close to the door

"Hey" Helsi said as she opened the door wide enough for him to see her clearly

"Helsi?" he said but more like a question

"What the hell Helsi, where the hell did you go to?" Lusi ran towards her with anger "We were so worried about you, you said you wanted to use the bathroom and then?"

"Can I at least have a sit first" Helsi looked really tired and exhausted


"No" Lusi folded her arms "You say it right here, right now"

"I'm sorry, I know you are very upset with me right now, I'm sorry" Helsi pleaded

"You don't go around making such decisions on your own when we are all here to help" Lusi was really upset "Don't do this again" She said as she motioned for her to have a sit

"Thank you" Helsi went further to sit

"First of all guys, I am deeply sorry for making such rash decision without your consent guys, that was foolish" she said as she lowered her head

"Where did you go to?", Butrico asked

"And what did you do?", Lusi added

"Let her breath please Lusi" Lusi's mum couldn't take it any more

"I won't until she tell that she haven't done anything terrible, because I know what she is capable of"

"Let's just give a her the opportunity to say it" Joy responded

"Go on" Butrico looked at Helsi

"I don't know how it happened" Helsi knelt on the floor crying

"How? what happened?" Lusi knelt with her

"Racheal" Helsi said

"You went over to her place?"

"Yes I did, but Tom was there too" Helsi turn to look at Lusi with the most confusing face "I don't know why"

"OK… tell us exactly what happened" Lusi said

Joy and Butrico came a lot closer to get the whole details

"She was having a discussion with Tom, I wasn't close so I couldn't hear a thing, then she…" Helsi cried even more

Lusi stood up, taping her feet, she knew the situation at hand just got worse

"I wasn't the one I promise" Helsi said

"Hold on, what happened to her?" Joy asked

"She was shot"

"Did anybody see you? Did you go with a gun or something?" Lusi asked

"I don't think anyone saw me, I went with a gun but" Helsi went close to Lusi

"Why Helsi? Why?"

"It wasn't mine, I did not kill her"

"What if someone saw you Helsi, you shouldn't have gone there in the place"

"I'm honestly trying to understand what you just said Helsi because I don't" Joy said
