Another Man Down



Tom's POV


I needed to see Racheal, get some important documents from her and break things off with her

I got closer, ordered David to stop the car to go check on her, hoping she was home

I went close to the door, and touched the doorbell then Racheal came out to open the door




Helsi's POV


I sneaked out of the window making my way out, I could hear their words but only as whispers, unlike usual days where he driver takes her around, this time she walked a long distance on the street before ordering a taxi so she won't attract attention to her friends inside

"Number 12 Mafrego Street" She was specific

She sat in the back seat, the driver constantly looking at her, the grave desire to do something terrible in her eyes, like her child had be murdered and she was going to find out who was responsible, he was tempted to call the police because he had noticed a tny bag that has the shape of a gun


"Is everything OK ma'am?" he sensed that something was definitely wrong

"Just drive" Helsi raised her hands out of frustration "And fast" she added

"OK ma'am" He drove but still kept an eye on her

Helsi saw Tom from afar already at her place, she wasn't shocked at that, besides she is his future wife

"I would stop here" Helsi told the driver

"I thought you said Mafrego Street ma'am?" He asked

"I would get down here please" Helsi repeated

He slowly stopped, then Helsi came down, sneaking through the house opposite Racheal's home so that neither Tom or Racheal would fall site of her

She kept her bag laying on the floor, then carried the gun that she kept in her bag, pointing it towards Racheal, ignoring Tom having a conversation with her, which seemed more of a quarrel than a simple conversation



Tom POV



"I don't want this anymore, what exactly don't you understand?" Tom raised his voice

"We can talk about it Tom, I was going to tell you" Racheal pleaded

"When? I need you to sign this document"

"Please Tom, I did it for my… do you have kids?"

"Sign the damn document and don't ask me useless questions" Tom shouted

Davis could hear them shout outside but he decided not to interfere because he was still upset with her

"No" Racheal looked deep into his eyes

"What do you mean by No?" Tom sighed "Let's do this the easy way Racheal, just sign and I leave"

"Or what?" Racheal asked with so much confidence

"You won't like what I would do, and you would still sign the document, but this around it would be the hard way" Tom sounded more like a threat

"I said No and I won't…" Racheal fell

There was a gunshot, and she died

"What the hell is happening outside?" David heard the gunshot and ran out quickly

Tom ran to his car, and was about to open his car before he heard some sound coming from the grasses from the neighbourhood. He paused to see who was that but he couldn't, he could only see the structure of a lady

(Phone Rings)

"Yes"

"She is not here" Mardrigo said

"Who is not there?"

"Helsi, she is not here"

"Who then is there?" Tom asked

"Just Lusi, her mum then a male and a female but they seem to be looking for something"


"Are you sure, she is not among the unknown two?"

"Yes, I am, I scanned through the house but just these five seem to be at home at the moment, how sure are you that Helsi is here?" Madrigo stood outside, enduring the cold, watching, waiting for Helsi to come in so he could take his shot. He kept wondering why Tom wasn't there with him

"I'll be there soon" Tom's mind went back to the incident that just happened, that person he saw in the neighbourhood, moving around specifically around Racheal's home

Tom ordered David to dive as fast as he could

"Racheal!!!" David screamed immediately he came out seeing her feeding so bad, so much blood out already, it was well targeted, directly to the brain

David called the emergency line first, reporting a case of murder, then rushing Racheal to the nearby clinic, he was badly injured but David hoped it might work, even when all evidence shows it won't, he kept hoping

"Please Racheal, for your child at least" Tom cried as he watched her taken away by the ambulance


The police were already at their post, asking questions, watching his movement and body language

"Can you talk about it?" The Doctor asked

"Yes" David cried even more, wishing his son wouldn't have to go through this without his mother

"OK sir, please go on" The huge detector sitting next to the one with the police uniform said calmly "And let us know when you can't keep going for more investigation"


" A day back, two people came over to check on her, they seemed upset like she owed them a huge amount of money, the first one is called Tom, they quarrelled, but he left out of annoyance,

"Did anything happen to her then? Did she complain about anything?"

"No nothing happened but their quarrel… she cheated on me with him, he did not know that we are married, so had been sleeping with him for a long time now so his coming that day was his first time visiting"

"How long did you know that she was cheating?"

"I did not know, not until he came claiming she was his wife or better still, his future wife" David stood up "I need some air to think straight"


"It's fine, we would do all in our power to find the person that did this"

David stood up and inhaled deeply, as he walked out of the room to process what had just happened, he couldn't even look at his child

"A peaceful child, sleeping" A common man passing by said
