Her Mother's Death


Ava's POV


"It's fine, I can talk about it" Ava adjusted her soft thighs, shaking off her shoulder with her eyes close then she inhaled deeply

Clara came close to her

"It happened when I was young, very young. My mum was having an affair with another man, I was just seven years old back then" She said as a hot tear dropped down her eyes

"I'm so sorry dear"

"It's fine, my dad wasn't taking good care of us at that point that was why she opened her legs for the money"


"Are you the only child to your father?" Clara interrupted

"I am the only child to my mother" Ava reached out for a glass of water

"OK"

"He didn't even listen to me when I told him about my school activities or anything I needed, he was so busy with his business, so…" Ava squeezed her brows "I have never seen a man so desperate or better still greedy, he don't mind taking all the money in the world, just never satisfied" Ava sighed

"But it was all fraud, he stole all his money and little did we know that he was stealing and keeping it somewhere else, that's not even my problem, he forced my mum to have sex with him when she was willing to"

"Oh My God" Clara gasp

"Even in my presence, he tore her cloth and…" she broke into tears "He raped her all the time and he wasn't moved with pity, he doesn't have a single human sympathy even to his child"

"He… he?" Clara stumbled on her words

"He did" Ava cried out hard

"No he did not do that to you"


"He did, I was alone with him, one of those days when my mum would go out with some men and my dad wanted to have sex but she wasn't around, he came to my room and told me not to shout"

"That's terrible, he should be in jail, did you tell anyone?" Clara was upset

"I was just a baby, and the fear because he threw threats at me and my mum, so we couldn't even talk about it to others, forcing himself several times at my mum made her sick, she was always going in and out of the hospital which led to her current situation "

" Is he still around? "Clara asked

" No, my mum ran away from the house with me when she could no longer take it, I was about 16 years before she summoned the courage to do that, he had been married to about three women when my mum was still around, I don't know about now"

"A man with no self control" Clara said

"At all, not even a single drop of self control in anything he gets involved with, what sort of man is that?"

"He should be in jail"

Ava got an email message from her mum's medical doctor asking her to come over to the clinic

"Erhm, I think I need to be at the clinic now" Ava said as she looked at her email address

"You want to go early?" Clara remembered that she said she would go much later because her mum just got to the clinic

"Yes, I have to" Ava was surprised to get a message early too "I thought I would stay longer but her medical doctor just sent this" Ava showed her the message

"OK, it must be urgent and important"

"I would see you later dear and I would tell you about the rest later" Ava stood up to get her bag

"I would drop you off"

"How would I get back?"

"Ohh, great point" Clara laughed "My bad"

"Thanks for your care, you know how fat my mum is, she can alone occupy the back seat, I would use my car"

"Ok, please send my regards to her" Clara said, and also stood to go out to

Ava locked her door and carried her bag to her car to go quickly to the clinic

She went straight to the Doctors office, to know why he an urgent message to her

"Mrs Ava is here to see you sir"

"Yes, let her in" The doctor said to his secretary

Ava was allowed in

"Welcome Mrs Ava, please take a seat" he motioned for her with his hands for her to sit


"Thank you Doctor, how is my mum doing?" Ava asked

"Hope you had a good day?"

She paused, she did not understand why he wouldn't answer her question "My day has nothing to do with my mum, can I see her now?" she asked again

"Not yet" he joined his hands together on his desk

"OK, how is she feeling now?"

"I'm so sorry, we tried our best" He finally went to the point

"Sorry about what?" She stood up

"Just please sit"

"I want to see my mum"

"Please know that-" he was interrupted

"I said, I want to see my mum now" She said

"We tried our best in saving her life" The doctor stood to take her to the room

Ava bent like she was stoned, and all of a sudden the world seemed void and she couldn't breath well

"Please take a seat"

"I'm OK, let's go, I want to see her" Ava had already started crying "Please mum, please mum" she kept saying to herself

"Over here" The doctor redirected her, she was going the wrong way

"OK"

He opened the door for her to go in, Ava saw someone covered with a cloth

"Where is she?" Ava turned to the doctor

"I'm so sorry, we lost her" he looked at the bed

Ava threw her bag to the ground, "Mum!!!" she screamed, running to the bed

"Ohh no please, no mum I'm here" She opened the cloth used to cover her, touching her so she could somehow wake up, she saw her lying without life, her eyes closed

She couldn't wake up, she moved two steps then turned to the doctor "You" she ran to him "Why, please do something on her, she is not… she can't be"
